((Wynn))
Wynn's blue eyes were alight with interest as she listened to all the muttered conversations going on around her. It was such a surreal thing to be directly discussing the herds future like this; whatever they decided on would undoubtedly affect the herd for years to come. In her mind, going to the Olde for help was the only solution. The Southern Island was probably beginning to replenish itself with new growth, but if they went back too soon they'd only stunt what little progress was there and have to leave again, which would be ridiculous. Staying with the Bachelors was like camping outside a cave full of wolves, never knowing when one would slink out and steal another horse. The Olde were an odd sort as well, but Wynn was willing to bet her tail that they wouldn't ask for their lives as payment for a bit of grass and water like the Bachelors had.
Maybe this mare, Khala, was just what they needed. She looked a bit worse for wear, but didn't they all? She remembered her, from before the fire; she was one of the High Guards. Which means she had experience dealing with how the herd worked, and if she managed to survive alone for all this time on their burnt-out island, she was obviously resourceful and tough, and she already had the respect of many of the senior herd members. Wynn walked closer to the forming group, and inclined her head in a show of respect, "Welcome home." (254)

{Efflorescence}
Effie regarded the mare with a cool stare, watching as her expression changed to a stoic look. she flicked an ear towards he chimera mare and said gently "It's never nice to find bodies." She nodded gently, "Understandable to find us now, better late than never" Effie took a step back and stood at the side of her mate, the look the mare gave Ryder unnerved her slightly, she was probably being silly, but she would ask him later. She dropped her gaze slightly and fell into thought, pawing the soft earth gently and prodding it with her hoof, she snorted gently, and flicked an ear towards the ongoing conversation
What Kanu said next, irked her and made her ears perk towards him. “Khala will be our new leader- we have not given up on Cael," This mare has just waltzed in and then Kanu calls her leader. Cael had only been gone hours? Days? she couldn't really remember. Now this mare was taking her place, he said they hadn't given up - but how could they rescue Cael if they returned home or sided with the Oldes?. She sighed gently and returned her gaze to their 'new leader' looking at the mare before her - what direction would she take the herd?

Natalie
Natalie stood among her herd members. She had been listening to them argue about where they would go for so long now that she wasn't even sure where they should go. Home wasn't the answer right now but fighting with the bachelors wasn't an option for her. Even as she listened them her ears came to flatten at a rather unfamiliar face that greeted the herd. Any seemed to know the mare and it seemed she was to be their new leader but what about Cael they couldn't just leave her here with the bachelors.Just how were they going to get her back? Looking at Kanu while he spoke she trusted him but could she really place her trust in this new leader when she barely even knew her? However Natalie would remain loyal to the Exiles like she always had even if she wasn't sure about this new leader. Though she had to say the more to looked at the mare more she seemed familiar but yet she still couldn't place her at all. Turning her ears to Moirragh's voice about if their new leader had a plan for them. This she fully agreed on she wanted to know just about as badly as some of the others did. After all a solution was very much needed right now. She waited to hear what they had to say before she would speak. (word count: 234)

Kanu || Current Exile Captain
He examined each Exile's expression, some showed turmoil, some showed complete confusion and others were content- and perhaps even relieved- with their new leader. Kanu looked to Effie, she was one who didn't seem to agree with the idea of replacing the Exile leader so soon. Which he totally understood, he just hoped she- and everyone- knew that they only did this so they'd have a better chance of getting Cael- and everyone else who had been taken- back. And also to get home. Once and for all. He refused to leave Cael behind, as he had stated before. In his mind she was still their official leader, the mother of the herd, but right now she was gone and the Exiles needed someone to guide them, Kanu was Captain material, not Leader material. Even though Khala was yet to prove her worthy up against Cael, Kanu had faith in her- and had seen her leadership skills when she was a high guard back in the day. He looked up to her and he now had faith that his old friend would be able to lead these poor horses out of despair. But to do so she needed the support from the herd.
Kanu then looked to Shiya, his good friend ,and the mare he had saved from a grass beast a few months back. He was still working this mare out, but at the moment she looked bedazzled, lost. Kanu desperately wanted to call her up to stand next to him but he knew that wouldn't be ideal. So he decided he'd go to her after things had died down so he could console her. After Moirragh had asked the daunting question of a plan of action, Kanu cleared his throat. He wouldn't just decide for the mass of the herd, but he did want to give these horses something to work toward or think about. "Yes, Moirragh. We will take a vote, we can either join the Bachelors; and help them in the upcoming war..." He stopped, almost cringing at the thought, "Or, we can join Olde and help them instead. We can split up, some of us will go to Olde, some will stay here and some will go home. Or we can all go home." He didn't want to speak his own opinion about each of the ideas, because he didn't want to potentially sway any of the horses decisions. "So far, we are contemplating joining Olde, there we can seek out the king and offer our help. We feel as though moving to Olde would be a step toward going home, which I'm sure is what we all want."
No matter what they decided, Kanu knew there would be those who disagreed. He was open for horses to disagree, to protest. He wasn't the type of horse to punish those who spoke their mind or had a certain plan of their own. But, he just needed them all to trust in Khala- and in himself- that whatever was decided (And it would be a decision made by all the Exiles) was for the better of the herd.

Prime || High Guard
Upon the emerging of the new comer the appaloosa mare just stood firmly, not displaying any trace of being either thrilled or disappointed over the new leader. Khala.. Though a smile crossed her muzzle at her speech..Finally! She thought with a sparkle in her amber eyes, perhaps it wasn't too late after all. The high guard remained however strangely silenced as she listened to the words of her herd mates. But soon found herself unable to do so for much longer, Ryder not even considering the golden opportunity to take back the mares from the bachelors? Not wishing to fool them all into false commitment? Kanu made it sound like they would rather flee or join the..Olde, equines that from the gossips appeared to be nothing but spoiled brats. This is madness.. It's their feud not ours. "Join Olde? What makes them so much greater? Just the thought that they would even allow us on their lands.. then the risk having the bachelors use Cael and the others as a shield against us, why seek such action? The mares that are being kept as barging for our freedom. It's a disgrace- But more importantly they deserve a better fate than to be fending those brutes on their own, we shouldn't abandon anyone. We have survived this long as a unit, I don't agree with the idea of changing that. " Prime held her head high as she shared her thoughts openly with the others, the mare's faith was like a thorn in her side.. a constant reminder of the failure of keeping the herd save. Even more proof for the bachelors that they were superior.. a annoyed grunt rambled in the depts of her chore, more than anything she would like to show those pricks how wrong they were. "I know some of you wish to run from this.. but unlike the fires this is not something that you can outrun. Going back to our own land..for what? Do you not recall the last sight of it? Ashes..you all started to starve, a slow and painful death would have been upon us all if we hadn't crossed and you think it's better to return to that.. If the situation is unchanged, we will be back at that point of slowly fading away. To the price of having our comrades sacrificed... for what reason? Fear? A dream founded of wishes.. is that more comforting than the thought of taking action?" Were they all just nothing but quivering foals? She was disappointed to say the least at the sharp glare in her fiery gaze. This was not the time for being weak hearted.. did they not see, that now more than ever they had the opportunity to take charge of their destiny? "I proclaim that we should make use of this situation in order to return the Bachelors 'hospitality'..with deception." As she said her final word she turned her eyes towards Khala, curious as to what this new leader would think of her statement.

|| Aragon ||
Aragon offered a smiled to Ryder. The small mare listened to Ryder and thought for a bit. "But with the war coming they might not want another heard on their land, they might even think that the bachelors sent us as a surprise.." Aragon said thinking as if she were in the Olde herd and the Exiles suddenly paid a visit. Aragon took a moment to truly look over the mare Khala. An aura of strength seemed to pour out of her the way she just stood seemed strong, but she wasn't in peak condition like the rest of them. Aragon glanced over to Moirragh the mare seemed deep to be in deep thought, her question was good and Aragon looked to Khala. Her eyes trained on her maybe Khala would be the answer to their prayers, or maybe she would lead them to destruction? "We need to think like and olde. Imagine if a herd suddenly came up and asked to stay on the land they are on already... On the brink of war.." She mumbled louder so hopefully everyone could hear. She looked around at the herd members and looked the Prime as the mare spoke to the heard. Aragon turned the ideas over in her mind trying to imagine an idea that would help everyone. .:Rhiannon:.
The young mare looked over her herdsmates as she returned. She had taken a small trip around the herd and their current location. The fact that their leader was a captive of the Bachelors... she shook her head. How could this have happened? She felt so tired, but on edge the same time. Ever since the herd had left their home, she had tried everything to protect the herd. May it be, she wasn't anymore than a guard, but she didn't want to loose any more friend or herdsmates. But not, that their leader was gone... what could they do? Her heart ached, when she thought of siding up with any of the other herds. Maybe it was a sign of her young age. But she wanted to go home... home where she was safe...
“Khala will be our new leader- we have not given up on Cael..." Rhia turned her head. Khala?? Her head flew over to where Kanus voics had come from. And there she was. Skinny as every of the other Exiles. But holding her head up high. Khala... warmth filled her heart when she thought of their old High Guard. So many wonderful memories flooded her mind. And a slight hope. Yes, with Khala, their surely had a chance. A mare that had survived the fire back home, would be the best chance they had. "Welcome home, Khala." She hadn't really heard any of the other words. There was only the feeling of hope, that was important right now. No matter how they would decide, everything had the chance of turning back to the good. She moved through the herd, closer to their new leader. For the first time since a very long time, she was able to smile.
As Prime started to talk, Rhias small hope seemed to shrink. She shivered. The small moment of hope, the glance of yesterday... everything vanished. "I proclaim that we should make use of this situation in order to return the Bachelors 'hospitality'..with deception." Flicking her blonde forelock Rhia let out a snort. No matter how good the High Guards points were. Going back to those?? Her ears turned back, pressed against her neck. NEVER!

Rae
Rae watched as some of the other horses welcomed Khala with loving arms. She made no move to follow. She stood stock still in her place, watching as the somewhat stranger mare move among them. Over the other voices, she heard Kanu make an announcement.
“Khala will be our new leader- we have not given up on Cael," She heard his stoic voice say. This, really did not please the seal bay mare. She stomped her hoof, snorting loudly. She knew it was for the better of the herd, and she knew that they needed a leader to guide them through their predicament, but she couldn't just let them replace Cael like that!
Rae remembered the day when Cael had found her, stuck among some thistles. She had tried to reason with the young, skinny, bloody Rae. And with a soothing voice, had guided her to the herd and she'd been with the Exiles ever since. Sure, once in awhile she would leave them only to return a few weeks later, but her loyalty did not reside within the Exiles. It resided with Cael. So, in an act to reverse this decision, she pinned her ears and let out a crazed whinny.

| Moirragh | Spirits were raising higher and higher. With her own newfound courage -something really innovative in her, or so she thought- Ragh's speedyfast brain began doing what it did best: overanalyze. Kanu's answer had pleased her questions, yes, but now, a new dilemma presented itself in front of the Exiles. Olde, Bachelors or home.
Her eyes closed, and her senses locked theirselves from the world.
Olde. The long time enemy of the Exiles, who had banished their forefather Arryn to a certain death. Not a good sounding option at first, but they were reasonable. And, what's most important, civilized enough to actually make a good deal without having to sacrifice anything important. But still, their tendencies and worships may block their path and put them in the middle of nowhere, or what's worse, in the middle of the conflict with no allies.
Bachelors? If Ragh had listened to her heart she would have scratched them first of all, but this was not the right time for that- they needed to consider every option available. Even though this wasn't a wise option either... they had barely spent more than a couple moon cycles on Eastern and they had experienced some serious losses. The Bachelors may have the upper hand regarding physical force, but their hardcore ways were something they weren't going to tolerate. That SHE wouldn't tolerate. They had already lost Cael- they could afford no more damage to their moral.
What was left then?
Home?
The Southern Isle.
Prime had already made a point about this. There was little to anything left back in their Isle. If there had been something to return to, thought... that would have been the wisest path to take. There was no use on even trying to go back to what Prime explained as slow and painful death. And she couldn't have been more right- even more on what she assumed Prime had said about getting the Bachelors back for their actions.
Ragh opened her eyes once again.
"I'm in." She slowly paced away to settle besides the spotted Guard. With an almost unnatural smirk, she talked out loud.
"If we are to be involved in blood, let's take the chance and make those devils pay."

((Asura))
All the voices seemed to boom around her as she listened, her torn ear flicking alongside its counter part, her regular ear. Chaos.... The voices in her head spoke, Chaos will ruin this herd, make us weak. We cannot allow that, not one bit. Hearing the words of their interim leader, the Silver Dappled mare snorted and bellowed out "We must choose Olde! Think of the mares! The Children! Their lives, Our lives, WE NEED FOOD WE NEED SAFETY!" She watched Khala, the large body of the mare swaying slightly. "What will we do if Olde denies us?!" Asura's eyes were wild, her once silken mane now tangled and matted, her blind eye darted to everything as she spoke. Though only a guard she had a duty to protect her herd, her family. They are all she has left. Others voices interrupted her thoughts, they spoke of talking sense into Vasska; which might be possible to complete, if he was feeling kind enough. Deciding that her voice had been heard she went quiet, her thoughts growling and snarling at her to speak up more; but today was not the time nor place to.
Asura turned and went to the back of the crowd of horses around her. Her large body dwarfing some, but seeming feeble to others, her hooves made furrows as she walked, ignoring the glances from the others as she thought to leave, but staying within earshot so she could hear the outcome of the wonderful horses her called her family... Her home.

((Delvin))
The great bay's ears swiveled from voice to voice as the herd began to speak their piece about how the current situation should be handled. Prime had a convincing point; the cob knew he wanted revenge on those baseless bastards, but even he couldn't deny the herd was in no condition to march into the Bachelor camp and spring their herdmates free. That being said, he didn't quite like the idea of appealing to the Olde herd for help either. Their king, if you'd go so far as to call him that, lorded over his herd with nothing but a flouncy prophecy to back himself up. A leader should earn their right to lead, not inherit it from a line of delusional stallions who believed they were part unicorn. But there wasn't much else they could do, as reluctant as he was to admit it. Delvin listened to Kanu list off their options, and the voices only grew louder and more frantic.
He waited for a break in the stream of voices to speak up, "I want revenge on the Bachelors as much as the next horse, but we have to acknowledge the fact that we're just not equipped to take them on alone right now," his gravely voice spoke out, "I, for one, don't trust the Olde to show us outright compassion," he said, snorting in distaste, "But if we can use their land to recuperate, and at least fight against our common enemy with them, we have a chance at rescuin' our stolen herdmates." He waited a moment before adding, We've not abandoned them, but it would be foolish to think our anger and passion alone will be enough to win them back." He hated to see the herd in this position, and as much as he tried to stay out of the rabble, everyone needed to be heard today, until they came to a plan they could all put themselves behind. (325)

[ Ryder ]
The brown paint nodded along with everyone's arguments. They all had good points especially Prime, but there would only be one correct answer. The others could lead to their demise or siding with a bunch of brutes. He understood that the Bachelors were holding two of their herdmates prisoner, but they were not equipped to fight their way through the middle of the Bachelor's camp to free their friends. It would be suicide to do so. As Delvin spoke, Ryder's torn ear swiveled in the stallion's direction. Delvin was a sort of mentor the younger horse, and Ryder valued the other horse's input. He cleared his throat partly out of ritual and partly to let everyone know he was about to speak. "I agree. We can't just waltz up to the Bachelors and expect them to actually believe we will fight for them with all of our strength against Olde. I'm sure they will come up with some other deal for us to take just so they know we won't try and run off with our herdmates once the war starts. The only option I see is to side with Olde, gain some strength, and win this war against the Bachelors. Vasska will understand and want to help, even if it is just to benefit his own herd. We can win this war if we side with Olde," he said, speaking more than he had in a long time in front of the herd. His blue eyes wandered over to his son. Leif was looking up at his with eyes that held a bit of confusion and awe. Ryder had to keep his mate and son safe and going to Olde would do that. The witch had given him his gift of water manipulation, and he wasn't afraid to use it against the brutes that were doing this to his herd.

{Efflorescence}
Effie snarled, and tossed her head "SILENCE" she screamed. She took a large breath and looked at Prime, "Prime, I have a great deal of respect for you. But what you are suggesting would probably lead to more deaths than us getting all of our herd back. Say they smell a rat? say we fail because, lets be honest - none of us are in the best shape ever - we are starving and weak, a feather could knock me over right now." Her expression and tone softened "And the children Prime, what of the children? I wouldn't risk Leif any time, for the good of the herd or not." Effie bit her lip, and looked at the horses around her, yes most of them were scared but she saw only a handful wanting to run, she turned to Delvin. "I wholeheartedly agree with you, Delvin. We go to the Oldes, they will surely take us in because they will need us for war, we add to their army. We use them to recuperate, and then we can decided if we really want to fight for them, or if we fight for ourselves. We need to be stronger than this, when we are healthy then we fight the Bachelors, then we take back whats rightfully ours - let their be bloodshed, but lets even out our chances" Her passion nearly bubbled over, but she held herself together, she would not fight them in this state.
She returned her gaze to Prime "Do you understand what i'm saying?" Effie searched Primes face for a flicker of understanding, she nodded respectfully and then turned to Khala and Kanu. "The decision should be decided quickly - I think we should vote, or the decision should fall to you, Khala. I've said my piece, and now I will follow the herd whatever the decide - even if I disagree." She grunted, dipped her head slightly and stepped back, standing tall - her opinion had come through, and she felt she had voiced it well. Her stare fixed on Khala, she waited for a decision.

~Liora~
The paint mare was late to the meeting. She had been out all day scouting for safer lands away from the bachelors, and had lost track of time. As she approached the group of horses, she noticed a familiar face had returned to them. It was Khala. Liora didn't know much of her, and she never really spoken to the chestnut mare prior to the fires that ripped their home lands apart. After the fires, the Khala had disappeared, believed to have perished on that awful day.
Many horses had already begun speaking to her. As Liora trotted closer to the group, she could see Effie, her mate Ryder and their little grey and white foal. There was Moirragh, questioning Khala for any information she may have. Adair, Alduin and Shiya all watched in silence with Rae sticking to the back of the group, also speaking no words. Kanu, the captain of the exiles, had suggested Khala as their new leader while Cale was absent. Liora's ears fell back against her skull in sadness. Just the thought that their leader had been taken was something Liora was desperately trying to keep off her mind. Aragon had spoken only a few words that Liora couldn't make out with all the commotion going on around them.
Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted the bay stallion Delvin. He was the only one she had really known out of the entire group. So, she made her way towards him, feeling most comfortable in his presence. It was unusual to see him in the mix. He was typically the kind to remain out of these sort of things involving the herd. "Delvin, what's going on? What is all this discussion about?" Liora asked him as she settled into the group. She looked around at all the horses throwing out their words, all wanting to be heard. The tension and fear among them was thick. Moirragh then spoke out with an interesting and very important question. What plans do they have for the herd now? Liora sent a questioning look to Kanu and Khala. If they were to lead their herd to safety from the Bachelors, they had to have some sort of plan, right?

| Moirragh | Chaos. Screaming, yelling, different voices everywhere.No.With a heavy sigh and a snort, Ragh frowned deeply and stood in the middle of the circle- the only place where she could get some attention,dare she say, from the most rambunctious members."Guys, please- let yourselves calm down!" She bellowed on her own tone, head held up high." This might get out of hand if we lose composure." Another snort. Her nerves may betray her at any moment now. "Everything that has been said until now had its point, seen from one perspective or another- but we're facing something more serious than most of us would like. As I said before, let's make the bachelors pay-" She faced Effie with a look of concern. " But we -or at least I- didn't mean recklessly attacking them. You were right, we're weak, scared and uncertain of what the future holds for us, way too much to handle to lead an offensive against all of them.
I think I'm not wrong in the fact that NONE of us would support adding ourselves to Bachelor ranks, but we can't forget about Cael either. Or even about the captive mares! That's why deep down-" At this point, the tiny bay mare was dramatically and slowly spinning, trying to face everyone. " We all know which one would be the wisest decision. And think of the aftermath! Vasska, if not the Olde herd, might bestow forgiveness on us." Her golden eyes, almost pleading, directed towards the two horses on charge, Kanu and Khala."We must seek Olde's favour, Kanu. Only, and only then-" She stepped back, realizing what she had just done, letting her muscles go weak once again. " may we survive this mayhem."
