((RP between Bellasuem's Delvin and CATACORNY's Greer)) Delvin | Exile | Scout Delvin grazed a ways away from the bulk of the herd... Or what was left of them. He paused chewing and looked down the slight incline of the hill he'd climbed at the remnants of his herd. Horses had sneaked away not long ago, and Delvin certainly couldn't blame them. Being back on this damned island didn't sit well with him, but he didn't want to starve to death on their burned-out husk of a home either. Maybe he would've considered running off again, if he was a bit younger, and didn't already know where being completely alone would lead him. So with a disgruntled sigh he bent his head back down to the grass.
The bay stallion was just beginning to nod off, standing with his head low and his back hoof cocked, but a noise nearby roused him. He growled in annoyance, and looked around. It wasn't often that someone in his herd came around to socialize, so he was a bit suspicious. He narrowed his eyes at a nearby copse of trees, and sniffed the air. Once he was sure it wasn't some kind of predator, he stomped a hoof against the soil, "Oi, I know you're in there," he stated, swishing his tail impatiently. Maybe it was one of the foals trying to play a trick, or something of the like. He took a few steps forward, frowning. It better not be one of those Bachelors. He had no qualms about kicking in the teeth of any of those puffed-up fools.

Greer watched the paint bay stallion from atop her rocky cliff. He seemed ordinary, possibly a loner. She picked her way down the slope, and slipped into the tree line. Today had been boring. She only had one customer who needed a message carried a very short distance, and she'd just taken a nap so she was wide awake. She'd taken habit to watching the bachelor herd in her free time, because some exiles had recently joined them. It was interesting to watch them meet with each other and she made up stories in her head about them planning escapes together as if the bachelors wouldn't catch them the within the first minute.
As the horses campsite came closer, she moved into the shadows. Her mostly dark coat hid her from anyone veiw, and she had a good sight on the horse. She watched the way he tensely tried to sleep, but to no avail. A twig snapped beneath her hoof as she shifted. She moved back into the shadow she'd moved from, and quited her breathing.

Delvin waited a few beats before huffing another great sigh. He gave his body a quick shake to rouse himself before trudging farther up the hill. His big hooves crunched over the grass and dirt as he climbed, grumbling to himself as he neared the treeline. Was a quick nap too much to ask for? He peered into the dim forest, brown eyes searching between the trees and bushes for any sign of another horse, but the shadows deceived him. "Listen, either you come out, or I'm comin' in," he warned.
He couldn't leave this alone now, and he surely couldn't sleep knowing there was someone watching him from the bushes. He looked over his shoulder, back down at the herd. It didn't look like anything was amiss, and there weren't any Bachelors around that he could see. That didn't mean they weren't planning on snatching more mares, or plotting about it in the surrounding treeline.

Greer knew she wasn't gonna get out of this scott free, so why bother trying she thought to herself. She turned around quickly and bolted through the trees and across the feild. Her hooves pounded loudly as she made her escape. She smiled wickedly, hearing hooves behind her. What a fantastic time for a chase. She loved night runs, and loved being chased. She always got away, with her mustang stamina and arabian and thoroughbred speed. She smirked and let out a buck.

Delvin growled when he heard sudden crashes in the undergrowth. Whoever they were, they were trying to run away. He charged into the forest in pursuit of the lurker, catching glimpses of them as they sped off between the trees. Delvin's strong legs carried him well, but his large size didn't aid him in the speed department. He was able to keep the mystery horse in sight, but he knew he didn't have the speed necessary to head them off.
They broke out into a moonlit field, and Delvin got a better look at the fleeing form. It was a smaller horse; didn't look like it posed much of a threat. He kept after it though, deciding he'd run it off from the herd before returning. "Keep runnin', ya' bloody fool!" he shouted, trotting to a stop in the center of the unfamiliar field. The wind blew through the grass, but he could still hear the other horse's hooves pounding against the turf. He sighed. This isn't how he wanted to spend his night.

Greer laughed as she galloped across the field and listened closely for other hooves. They were louder and much larger then hers, but clunkier and not as graceful. The hooves quieted and she flicked her head over her shoulder to spot the horse had stopped, shouted at her, and was walking glumly back toward his campsite.
"What? Cant keep up?" She shouted with her Irish accent, as she slid to a halt about 50 feet away from the bay paint stallion.

Delvin scowled into the darkness, in the direction of the distinctly female voice. So if it was one of those Bachelors, it wasn't one of the guards or raiders. Delvin shuffled his hooves, trotting slightly in place. He thought about chasing her again, but he knew he couldn't match her speed. Instead, he shouted back, "What, too frightened to show your face without a forest or field in between you?" he accused.
Delvin admitted to himself he was curious about what the stranger was doing poking around the herd, even more so now that he knew it wasn't a Bachelor stallion looking for trouble. It could be one of their mares looking for help, but he doubted it now that the mare had tried taunting him.

Greer giggled, she enjoyed messing with others. One of her favorite pass times was harassing guards who were to chunk and large to keep up with her. She watched the stallion in front of her prance in place. She could tell in his eyes he wasn't truly annoyed, just slightly irritated yet curious. She had that effect on others.
She stepped into the moonlight, revealing herself. Her dark grulla coat brought out the white patches that graced her coat. The moon reflected off her dorsal stripe and knee markings, accentuating the way her muscles quivered with energy. She made sure her mane was covering her scarred face and blind eye, only revealing her one beautiful deep blue eye.
"Well you've had a good look." She said, using her silver tongue to her advantage with a flirty voice. Oh how awful she was.

"Not what I meant..." the big bay grumbled to himself, before pinning his ears. He couldn't see a tell-tale scar on her forehead. She was just some flighty loner mare poking around, then. Delvin squared himself, and snorted at the cheeky mare, "What business do you have around here, eh?" he questioned, "I'd wager you don't need to be pokin' your nose in Exile business." Delvin didn't like the practiced way she spoke, and had a sneaking suspicion she wanted to cause trouble. Of course, he thought nearly every young horse wanted to cause trouble, but he had a probable cause in this case.

Greer circled him, arching her curved, cresty neck, lifting her tail with her arabian blood, and prancing slightly. She looked him over, taking note of his many scars. She made sure to lift her hooves carefully, in a sort of bouncing motion while she circled him flirtatiously, playing with him.
"What you meant is i am a 'bloody fool' and i should get going; too bad for you i prefer to mess with my prey." She growled jokingly. This was too much fun. "Well, i dont need to, but a lonely little ol mare like me loves some...entertainment." She sighed, looking in his brown orbs with her blue jems.

Delvin eyed her warily, but wary in the sense of how one would watch a foal that's about to get themselves into trouble. He huffed an unamused chuckle at the mare's antics, and swished his tail in annoyance. Apparently a good night's sleep was too much to ask from the insane locals.
"Well, you best go find someone willin' to entertain you," he stated, "Run along, little filly," he warned. He wasn't one for games when he was a colt, and that surely hadn't changed with age.

As the stallion plodded away, greer pinned her ears and swished her tail.
"Oh come on, im obviously not a little filly. Sure, im shorter then the average mare, but im much faster then an oversized stallion such as yourself. Whats your name?" She bothered him as much as she could.

"Ever think that maybe you're just undersized?" he retorted, giving her a no-nonsense look, "You may be fast, but I could probably carry you on my back if I had any desire to," he grumbled. Delvin shuffled back across the expansive field, wishing he knew from the start this was just some harmless loner mare, and not some brute that needed chasing off. The persistent little thing was practically prancing along, but he knew his last comment had ticked her off at least a little bit. Good, he thought, maybe she'd leave sooner rather than later.
"Hmph. Why do you need to know?" he asked, glaring over his shoulder. There was probably no harm in telling her, but he didn't want to appease the nuisance that disturbed his sleep.

Greer sighed heavily, feeling defeated. Her tail lowered, her neck un-arched, and she stopped prancing and stood still.
"Listen..im really sorry its just...usually..you know stallions this works on them and..i need somewhere to stay. I was gonna go sleep in my cave but there was this...really big loner stallion in there and i dont want to go back." She said innocently. It was the truth, she had played this game millions of times but now, it wasn't working. In the past it had gotten her into trouble because the stallions would think she was giving herself as their mate. She sighed and looked up at the stallion, feeling horrible for trying to trick him.

Delvin noticed the mare had stopped, so he halted a moment to see what she was planning next. He listened quietly to her story, but he was still a bit skeptical. For all he knew he was being scammed right now. "Hmm," he muttered, looking at the downcast mare. She was the polar opposite of what she'd been just a moment ago.
Delvin shifted his hooves, "Alright. How far's your cave?" he asked, "I can run him off," he offered. Delvin's no fool when it comes to fighting, so he was sure he could do it. But it was already the middle of the night, and he'd like to get some sleep before the morning. "Or just follow me back to the herd. We sleep in the fields, but the Bachelors won't notice one extra horse. They shouldn't bother you."
He figured bringing her back wouldn't be terrible, she could sleep and leave, and no one would really be the wiser. If she was a thief or con artist, the guards would probably notice her walking around the herd before she made off with anything.
