The mares head perked up, a smile crossing her face as she gave a soft giggle. "Alright lets get moving then!" She nudged her head into his neck softly as she tried to steer him in the direction she was going. "We're going to avoid the City of Olde for now, since that's where the herd usually is." She stopped for a second to shake out her coat again, giving a huff and looking back at Gaius. "So right now, the closest place is the Shatterlands. They're quite beautiful this time of year."
They were her favorite place to be, ever since she was a foal she couldn't wait to go see them in the spring. Rainbows of flowers covered the bright green fields, filling their air with a sweet aroma. It was heaven to her, and she enjoyed the idea of sharing it with the stallion. It was nearing summer though, so the vast amount of flowers wasnt quite at it's peak, but it was still a sight to see. "Sound good?" She asked, looking to the Stallion as she started walking further east.

Gaius | The Exiles | Guard
The grullo nodded lazily, the mare's words going in one ear and out the other as he paid no attention but the ramblings inside his head. He was paranoid in all honestly, and to be frank- why the hell was he continuing on with it? There were so many problems about the situation and yet Gaius 'could-not-give-a-shit'. He's in it for the long run no matter how much he decided to lie to himself.
Upon looking about in different directions- anywhere that was not Nef herself- the stallion noticed the mare leaving, triggering a thought of her leaving him behind; making his chest squeeze unbearably until he realized that she was guiding him somewhere. With a quick snort at how ridiculous he was acting he then followed the Knight deeper into the land, examining his surroundings- curious to where they were headed.
'she said 'The Shattered Lands'... right?' The tovero thought to himself reversing the very little of words he had actually heard.
"Yeah.. Sounds fine, Sunshine" He said softly, a grin forming as the guard thought of something, something that- regardless of reaction- would amuse him all the more to boost his attitude back up: cheer-upper as some might say.
"Your herd's territory looks amazing, but- I don't know what's more beautiful. The scenery or- " He cuts himself purposefully, waiting for Nef to catch on to his subtle hinting, hoping for it to work and possibly not taken another way.

"Or what?" The mare rose a dark eyebrow at the stallion.
What was he implying? The weather certainly wasn't too grand today.
Slowing down to let him catch up and walk beside her, but still behind her lead. Looking back forward, she weaved her way around the trees until they came back out into a field on the east end of the wood. The breeze brushed through the white leaves of the trees as they trotted out into the wet mushy ground of the plains. The mud was cold with fresh rain, and it made the soft padding of her hooves tingle slightly. The rain had caused a nice cooling sensation in the air in contrast to the sun that'd been beating down all day, and it was quite welcome.

Gaius | The Exiles | Guard
The Guard groaned loudly at the mare's oblivious answer. Closing his bright eyes he tried desperately not to show much of the irritation that seem to swirl inside him, bubbling. Feeling defeated as his planned had not worked out delightfully in his favor he accepted the loss, much to his own disappointment. Gaius had thought that if another opportunity were to be given- he'd more than likely try again. The question is however, how the hell will he keep dropping small hints for them to only fall and not be caught? It's like playing a game with only yourself- how boring of a life is that.
"Nothing.." He said dryly, opening his eyes to start glancing about once more to find something that could perk his interest. they weren't even half way into the 'tour' and he had already became bored. Annoyed more at the muddy ground that caked dirt under his hooves, leaving his legs to feel heavy and drag the extra amount of weight as a shutter crawled up his spin.
It was so cold.

Frowning at his answer, she huffed softly as she started to take off in a full gallop. "Alright, Daffodil, let's try to get there before sundown." Her dainty legs were actually quite powerful, as they tore at the earth to push the mare forward. Her mother had been a draft horse, though she'd not inherited much of her looks other than a thick mane and tail, and fluffy feathers, she'd gained much of her strength. Looking back to see if the stallion was following, she smirked to herself as she increased the distance between them.
Now at full speed she lunged full strength off the edge of a small cliff under a hill, landing out of sight of the dark stallion, and quickly hiding in the shadow of the hill below for him to lunge over. Trying her best not to giggle, she waited patiently for Gaius to follow her lead. It was a trick she'd learned as a foal, since her father and many of her friends had played it at one time or another and knew not to trust hills like this. But Gaius wouldn't've known, she thought as she heard his hoof beats growing closer.

Gaius | The Exiles | Guard
The dark stallion blinked a couple of times, baffled at the mare's sudden dart forward. He questioned her urgency for a fraction of a second before jerking his up to look at the sky to realize it'd soon be nightfall if they don't hurry. With a long sigh he began to start into a lazy canter, steering towards Nef whom is picking up speed and creating a gaping space between them. However as he came near, Gaius saw her jump over a small cliff under the closing hill and disappear from sight; making the male panic at first.
'Where the hell did she go?' he thought hurriedly, trotting close to the cliff to scout out the perimeter to see any signs of the mare, but dreadfully coming to no findings. He then decided to head down, fluently jumping over with no difficulty- a perk of his breed. He was a jumper and defiantly not a runner. Or.. maybe that was just him.
"Sunshine?" A loud call erupted for the grullo, "Hey, where the hell are you?" He asked, muttering profanities under his breath as he got no reply. The panic rouse.
"Well, aren't you the sweetest thing ever- leaving me here in-Fairy-knows where!" Gaius yelled to no one in particular; It was by this point his irritation got the better of him and had even boosted his language into bright offending colors. Wonderful.

Nefertiti smiled slyly in the shadows at the stallion, putting her head low like it would add to the stealth in some way. Sneaking from her spot she did her best to stay out of his sight until she was within range. Range of what precisely? Range of pouncing. Watching him she was only about a handful of paces behind him now, ears perked forward to see if she could hear him moving in anyway to stop her.
Lifting off quickly the mare took off at the stallions side, giving a laughing yell as she pushed herself to jump up over him. It didn't end very well, as the mare crashed into his side with her belly, pushing her backwards and onto her back. She gave a huff as she tried to catch her breath, just lying on her back, eyes wide in both shock and amazement. She knew she was short compared to him, but could she have estimated that poorly? What was she even thinking, acting like a filly around her prisoner.
prisoner.
the word felt wrong to her, a least for him. She honestly really had no word to describe how she felt about him. it was weird.

Gaius | The Exiles | Guard
"Yo, Sunshine?"
The Guard flickered his neon green eyes in every possible direction, trying to seek out that 'problematic' mare Nefertiti. Her absence was surely getting to him and as the light slowly dimmed down with minutes passing by that felt like hours; he became worried beyond belief. So uncharacteristic-like of him. To be lost with no guidance was a bother on his part and left him uneasy. It was by this time, with a defeated sigh, the stallion had decided to turn back and find a way back home until his right ear wiped to the side at unknown hoof-steps coming towards him at a terrifyingly, rapid pace. Before he could turn his head a heavy mass had collided into his side; catching him off guard and spooking the male in the process. Embarrassingly, a (he hates to admit this) high-pitched shriek erupted from his throat as he whipped himself around hurriedly to have a better look at the attacker. All the while getting into a stiff stance, an increasingly hostile posture.
"Who the hell do you think you ar-" Gaius stopped mid sentence to peer down, looking at the pale coat of the presumably 'missing' member. His eyes widen at the discovery.
'You got to be kidding me'

A slightly muffled snort erupted from the mares nostrils as she began cackling at the stallion. The shriek still echoing in her ears as she heaved for breathe, rolling onto her side and laughing. "By the Unicorns!" She weezed, trying to calm herself. "You should see your face." Picking herself up off the ground and shaking out her coat, she turned to face Gaius. A smile stretched all the way through her lips as she looked at the tall exile, nudging her head at him through the air.
"You okay there, Gaius? You looked a little spooked there for a second." Nefertiti tried hard to keep her laughing down, though it was audible in her throat. Clearing it, she gave a soft sigh. "But seriously though, are you okay? I thought I could make it over... But apparently not."

Gaius | The Exiles | Guard
Stuttering out a jumble of incoherent words, processing the situation, Gaius cleared his throat to try and rid himself of the creeping embarrassment that flushed against his face in burning hues of red. Tried anyway. He watched as the mare laughed, not knowing exactly what to do and clearly regretting the sound that had snuck it's way out and made itself known. He hoped to the unicorns that this will never happen again or so help him!
"I-uh-I'm" The grullo stammered, "I'm fine just- uh, nice job with the jump there, Sunshine." He said jokingly, shifting his eyes as well as head off to the side. Last thing he needed was her to notice the flush of all things.
He soon moved forward, nudging the Olde member as he continued in the direction a head of them which he presumed was the way to The Shattered Lands. Once he got to a foot distance he stopped and waited for her, making sure to not make eye contact.
"...Shall we get going?"

"I'm coming, Princess." Nef snorted, trotting up next to him and taking back the lead as she shifted into a relaxed canter. Climbing up to the top of a tall hill, she could see the faint shadows of the shattered lands in the far distance. The were no more than outlines to them now, so she knew it would be a long while before they reached anywhere close to them. Frowning to herself, she continued down the hill and across the large field.
"We've got a few hours ahead of us, so why don't you tell me more about yourself?" The mare looked back at him to see if he was following, her silvery mane and tail now flowing in the wind in winding curls and waves, as if silvery flames. They'd now reached beyond where the storm had poured, so the land was harder and dryer, which was easier for run on. Looking back forward she dodged around a small boulder which was carved with the many hoof marks on it of those who'd passed it through the years. Paying no attention to it, she shifted her direction slightly more north to aim herself towards one o the rivers that was long out of sight.

Gaius | The Exiles | Guard
'Princess?'
Snorting softly at the name, he follows suit with staggering steps as the drying mud weighs heavy under his hooves making it near impossible for him to probably keep up a steady pace. Once his legs had fallen into harder ground, his legs stiffen in discomfort. The mass seemed to be like stepping with rocks tied around him- weights. He was'nt in much shape to travel far until he finds a way to shed off the hardening burdens.Gaius prayed that they'd soon make it so he may relax finally. As he started into a preferable speed, he was slightly caught off guard by the Olde's question.
"..About myself? What would you possibly want to know more about me?" Gaius joked, voice laced with play and green eyes looking towards her in a flickering glance, taunting the mare for an answer. "I'm sure you had enough of me already" He winked teasingly.

"Well, I enjoy talking to others, and we have a lot of time to kill before we have to rest for the night." Nefertiti smirked back at him, lunging over a long fallen tree, bleached white from the sun. The grass was gradually getting softer under their hooves as the smell of water came in on the breeze. The river was a little over an hour away, and there they could stop to graze before sundown. She thought it would be a nice thing for him, thinking he may not have eaten since he crosses over to the Isle.
"So go on, tell me something about yourself and I'll tell you something about me, and so on until we get to the river." Looking back at him again for second before looking forward again.

Gaius | The Exiles | Guard
Scanning the chanted area for any offending obstacles that may cause a problem, the exile followed close behind as he leaped over the log almost in unison. His stomach curled upon venturing over; past images of clustering pale trees painted black, all charred. This tree reminded him so much of the many that had fallen in the wake of that horrid day.
A hardly audible noise erupted from his throat. "Do you now?" Gaius asked tonelessly, kicking his hooves up a bit higher to test and see if any remaining dirt had fallen off, sadly they were as stubborn as he was.
"Well I'm sorry to disappoint you, sweetheart, but there's not much to me. I'm just the average stallion- doin' the same boring stuff, liking the same boring stuff."

"No normal stallion screams like that." She laughed back at him, pushing herself up to the top of another hill. Thinking back to his shriek, she laughed harder as it ran through her mind.
"Maybe a fILLY!?-"
Looking back at Gaius again, she yelped as her hoof drug on the ground a littler, causing her to almost trip mid remark. The last word turned into almost a scream as she yelled out in surprise. Scrambling her legs to keep herself upright while still moving forward. It was about a minute of hard scrambling and yelping before she regained her pace fully, a blank look of terror on her face from the 'near death' experience she just had.
