"There's a few places we can look." Lilith replied. The mare was visibly wilting, her strides becoming short and graceless. She was tired, and it was only now, in the afterglow of adrenaline's wild rush, that she realized it. "She won't be anywhere nearby, I can tell you that much." She hoped that Delilah had run right into another group of Bachelors. She was safe either way, of course, being fast and savvy to the city's inner workings, but Lilith preferred the idea of a Bachelor meat shield between her and her brother.
The lady's ears pinned, head lowering in equal parts exhaustion and petulant sulk. Delilah had never mentioned an older brother. She'd never mentioned much of anything, really. The chimera was her best friend, and yet, as they plodded along the cracked cement, Lilith realized how little she knew of her past. D had never seemed eager to speak of it, and could find several better ways to waste their energy when Lilith had brought it up. Eventually, she'd stopped asking. It hadn't been important. Not back then.
That appaloosa though... Caligo? He was out for her blood. Surely that was an important detail to give your big sister!
Lilith snorted and raised her head. She was irritated, but already forgave, as always. Delilah could be nothing but herself. "We'll find her soon enough." She assured, leaning against Ron's strong shoulder for support. Her eyes found and rested on Cael's fiery tail. It was a pretty distraction from her blooming headache. "She'll have a great laugh at how disheveled we look, and then we'll go find the younglings and apologize to their terrorized babysitters."
Everything would be fine, the mare reasoned. Delilah, the youngsters, all of them. Perhaps Sheva would even return before nightfall, and Lilith could regale her with the day's gossip and show her her new trick. Within a few weeks, everything would be back to normal.
Content with that thought, Lilith forged on.
