Ari could feel her heart drop when it was mentioned that Lillith didn't even know where the mare was. She could only imagine how hard this news would be on Arturo. He had come all this way in hopes to find his wife and now it seemed he would be unsuccessful after all. She frowned, her ears lowering as she dipped her head in sorrow.
She turned her attention to Ron when he pretty much gave her away. He would be in trouble when he got back, wouldn't he? Would Cain be mad at him for letting her go? Perhaps not... She was nothing special, no one important. Just a little mare who hardly fit in. She wouldn't be missed here, that much she was sure of. At home... Well she had a lot of loved ones and friends who would miss her. She had to return.
Then Click spoke up and her attention went to him, internally pleading for everything to be over with. A short speech and he turned around. Ari's heart flutered with excitement when he stopped and ordered her to come. She smiled happily, boring her head. She was going home! She turned, giving the Bachelors a quick nod in goodbye and then hurried after the spotted horse. Only a little longer, father. I'm coming home, just as I promised.

Wrinkling his nostrils, Arturo watched the fiery maned mare with a scowl, as she moved around him towards the appaloosa mare and her double. As he watched her, he remembered the rumors, she must be the Exile’s former leader. The Exiles where just as tainted as the Bachelors, Jediah had been right. He had met Exiles that had fought for their side and somehow they had gained his respect, but seeing their former leader becoming an Bachelor? Seems like the Exiles didn’t have that much pride, they liked to claim. Why would she still stick with them and why had the Exiles not freed her? Obscura had given him a small insight of the situations on the isles, while he as knight would have barely knowledge of the current situations.
As Arietti spoke up, he raised his head and he watched the gentle mare. Her soft voice and soothing energy with her well picked words, stroked over his body with a softening and easing effect. He just wanted to get Obscura back, wandering the city with her, resting in in the shadows of large trees. With a hurt expression, he watched Arietti and as she mentioned the foals and glanced at him with uncertainty flickering through her eyes, he pricked his ears at her, surprised. Did she not trust him? He frowned, all his anger and violence had left an impression on her that he never intended. He was usually gentle, helping, but he was also protective and loyal to his herd and now his own herd members didn’t believe in his honor?
Just take Arietti for now and leave... Arturo grinded his teeth and stared at the Bachelor stallion, he had found a special unliking towards this individual. He did not believe him, it was not possible that his wife was doing fine in a mob of barbarians without faith. When Niveus voiced his opinion, Arturo’s shoulders dropped defeated. He would not see Obscura today or anytime soon. She would still be a captive, his teeth grinded even harder at the thought and his jaw muscles tightened visibly. His heart raced with a mixture of anger and disappointment, jumping and sacking back into it’s place. His leg throbbing even worse and his ears flopping unwillingly back, hanging low. He would limp back home, again without Obscura. He had high hopes for this mission, it had been naive and dumb, to think it would be that easy.
Unwillingly, he turned away from the Bachelor horses, piercing Ron with one final glance, before he stepped towards Arietti, a forced smile on his lips, welcoming the mare back into the herd. He would have given her an honest smile if he could, but he was not into the mood. Slightly limping he followed Caligo, trailing behind Arietti, making sure, she would leave this unicorn forsaken isle.

There was a dark tension in the air, hanging low over all the horses as they forcefully pulled away from each other to go their separate ways. It made Cael's stomach twist in knots; she didn't trust these Olde horses one bit. A scowl etched across her face as she noticed the larger horse she had tangled with staring at her, his expression now softer but still full of hate. She had to admit, her heart went out to him. Obscura was defiantly not doing as well as Ron was trying to let on, her already slender form slowly deteriorating for lack of sleep and food. The flaxen had not had the chance to talk with the mare since she had been placed as Cain's new favorite toy, replacing herself but ultimately in Cael's favor. It never sat well with her, leaving another to suffer in her place, but she had no say. She, like the other Olde mares, were captives.
The dark mare peeled her gaze away and came to settle uneasily on the spotty appolosa stallion. He was even more distastful, his words bitter and sleek as if he was glossing over something she could not understand. A snort left her muzzle as Cael placed herself one more step in front of Lilith. She would be ready for any crap he or his double tried to pull. "Who the children are left with is no concern of yours. Beside," Her temper was flairing now but she held fast her position. Fighting now would be pointless. "what do you care for bachelor children?"

Kali felt a mixture of relief and a prickle of unease wash down her spine as the two groups began to separate. It seemed odd that Caligo would give up so easily, though the black overo was glad to see the lost sheep - Ari - returning to the herd. Arturo seemed to welcome her as well, which was good. Kali, more than anything, was relieved that the groups were going their own way. Kali had hoped to see this mission out without bloodshed, and for the most part, that wish had been granted. The healer was not one for these violent outbursts; the war in general annoyed her, even. It seemed useless to jump in, especially when the original quarrel had been with the Exile herd. Of course, Kali had no love for the Bachelors, especially their twisted and cruel stallions, but she was almost equally torn between disgust at their way of life and disgust at useless bloodshed. Each struck a chord with the black horse, and each occupied the mustang's mind.
Kali's attention turned to the black mare, her ears twitching in the fiery-maned horse's direction as she spoke out about the Bachelor younglings. The other mare had a point; what did the Olde horses have to do with the foals? Obscura, certainly, as she was a captive, but horses born into this life. Even Kali, who was no more religious than the Bachelors themselves, had to think they had been tainted by Bachelor life.

With the groups now parting ways, Ron turned from the Olde horses. Though there was an uneasy feeling settling itself in his stomach, something nagging at him. This didn't feel right, the Olde just so easily going...but it was hard enough trying to get to this point and if leaving now meant no more fighting, then he would leave and not look back. Now that they were done with the Olde, they could search for Delilah. She was unicorns know where, but he figured she would still be in the city.Ron looked over to Cael. "Cael, let's go," he urged the brood, "we are done talking here. Let's get going." And he gave Cael a look of warning. He didn't need her starting any more problems for them with the group of Olde
Ron headed back in direction of the warehouse. He hoped Cain would not be angered with him giving Arietti back to the Olde. Although in his mind she wasn't really of much importance like Obscura or Cael. Obscura would be returned to her herd...eventually. He didn't know his leaders intentions for her, but he could only hope that she would be allowed back to her family. Ron took a glace back to the Olde as they disappeared out of the alley way.

Lilith felt only relief as the Olde horses took their leave. She didn't worry for Delilah, already long gone on her powerful, long legs, racing through the city she knew as intimately as her lovers. Her brother would never find her, not when she'd claimed a head start. Even if he picked up her trail, he'd never outsmart her; he was in her territory.
"I'm happy for you, sweetling." Lilith called after the pearl mare, and meant it. Arietti was too delicate for the Bachelors, and had perhaps a family of her own to return to. Lilith realized she'd never bothered to ask. How thoughtless, she thought, as a shudder ran unbidden down her spine. Her body double vanished, no more than lingering tendrils of mist. The lady knew that the shiver was the tangible effect of the copy returning to its source, nestling into whatever resting place it called home in the crevices of her heart.
But then Ron was speaking. Not to her, but it grabbed her attention nonetheless. Lilith shot him a reproachful look, a single quirked brow relaying how very not-impressed she was with his impassioned attempt to get along with Cael. And as their group turned to head towards the warehouse, Lilith placed herself directly between them, shoulder-to-shoulder with both beaus to keep any further tension from arising. They'd only just wriggled free of a skirmish, after all, no need to start another one. "Are either of you hurt?" She asked, and then, in a much lower voice, "Delilah will be clear across the city by now. We need to find her."

As the Olde horses made their way out of the city, Arturo soaked in the surroundings, mapping everything in his mind and making sure he wouldn't miss something, while they moved through the city, out into the plains again with the river in front. He glanced back at the city that loomed behind them, crumbled and withered. He would come back. "I promise you my love, i will come back." He whispered quietly to himself, to the air and the surroundings, in hope the message would reach her. Her heavy lidded, beautiful pale blue eyes in his mind, her tired smile. He had hoped to see it again.
He wondered how a meeting between Ancaesi and him would have been without Caligo involved. His heart stung at the thought of her, he hadn't even seen her. He had loved her once, he did not believe it, but that's how it had been. Painful, torturous love, irritating until this very day. Though, it was nothing, compared to the love he had for Obscura. Dragging his legs heavily over the enemy soil, he would make sure to come back. The Bachelor where weak and with their mares, they feared the fight. He had hoped to let out some steam, to kick Bachelor asses, but they were so tame. I He would come back.

All bark and no bite, these Bachelors were. It was truly a shame, as when he closed his eyes, all he saw was red. The black mare with the flaming mane was the mouthiest of them all, but before Caligo could respond to her pedantic question, the stallion finally performed his duty. Caligo wondered how the Bachelor King felt about this lackadaisical care over the mares, the only resources the Bachelors had to bargain with. A herd that peddled blood and sex, it was a wonder the Unicorns didn't wipe them from the earth, however he hoped their time was nigh. That was all he could do. And find Ancaesi his double reminded him, and Caligo nodded just slightly, turning away from the city and heading away, making sure that Arietti was following along behind.
Caligo could sense Arturo's boiling anger, not only in the stallion's whispered words but also his entire manner. He looked like a beaten dog crawling back home, and Caligo shared the feeling. He had hoped for so much more. Niveus walked ahead of the contingent of Olde horses, occasionally touching his nose to the soil, before he continued wordlessly onwards. There's freshly overturned soil here. Niveus thought to Caligo, and the latter took a deep breath, smelling the Earth with his double's nostrils. She was still here. Caligo cast a sidelong glance at Arturo quickly, analyzing. Was the horse too beaten down to put up a struggle when Caligo captured his former lady love? He could only hope so, or he would be dragging two horses back to the Olde isle today. Wind gusted and orange-red poppies flickered in the breeze, flashing in the garish sunlight. He snarled at them - they were out of place and too terribly bright, taunting him with the color of blood. He wanted nothing but to tear them from the Earth itself, which, oddly, was not in his usual list of behaviors. Flowers were generally of no concern to him - what was different about these. The hoofprints stop here, there's blood." Niveus thought, already over to them, staring. Caligo's eyes narrowed, and he cast a glance back. The Bachelors were too far away now, they couldn't know what was happening. "What pretty poppies." Caligo murmured, before taking one and ripping it out of the ground. Suddenly, his mouth was filled with a hank of dark mane, and a familiar flavor. It tasted oddly like vengeance.

As the Olde horses turned to begin the journey that would take them back home, Kali fell in step beside their herdmates, and the recovered captive. The black overo couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of relief as they turned to go; she had hoped to avoid bloodshed, and it seemed that their wish had been granted today. But, what was to say they wouldn't have another fight? On some other day? Nothing, that was what. The thought darkened the overo healer's mind as the group ambled along, and Kali knew it would not be until this war was over that they felt at peace again. The constant threat of battle would not lighten until after the war was over.
And what then? Who would win in a bloodthirsty battle between the two factions? And what would happen if the Olde herd - perish the thought - lost? Even today, to Kali's relief, there had been no fighting. But they had only gained one captive. Which had not been the mission. Kali wondered what Vasska would think of their botched execution. Also, the black overo wondered what Caligo would have to say. The stallion seemed to be busy ripping up flowers - and Kali wasn't going to focus on that right now. She just wanted to get home.

Hearing Lilliths voice call out the patite Marwari cross turned around to see the bachelors for one more time. She had no hard feelings toward them, not even toward the one who had captured her. They had different ways of living, but they were not monsters, not in her mind. "Thank you, goodbye!" She tossed her head in a wave to her acquaintances before she turned and ran after the Olde horses toward home. Yes, home.
Ari couldn't be happier as she pranced on after the others. Heading back home with everything seemingly cleared out for now she had the filly like energy that she had before the war. She was so excited she could sing a song of joy right now... And then she remembered Arturo. Her spirits faded some. Suddenly things weren't quite as perfect as she had thought. Not everyone was going home today. There were still bleeding hearts, horses missing their loved ones. Like the dark stallion for example.
Quietly Ari moved her way toward the stallion. She nickered softly to him, nudging his side with her soft muzzle. "We'll find her and take her home. I know it." She assured him softly. She could even convince her daddy to come help. He was wise and a good fighter, unlike herself. She would offer more help if she had any to offer.
((Sorry did this on phone. Some day I will go through and fix it up))

Ron was thankful Lilith had placed herself between him and Cael. She was always the voice of reasoning when the two of them started bickering. He gave Cael a look when she wasn't looking his way. Ron shook his head at Lilith's question. "I'll be fine, I've had worse," he told her with a light chuckle, leaning in to give her a little nuzzle on her shoulder. Thankfully he had not acquired any serious injuries, just a few minor scrapes on his legs. And then his face returned to a more serious manner. Delilah was still missing. Where would she have gone? He had heard the crashing of glass from the warehouse, but had not seen the direction she went off in. Arietti was the last one to have seen Delilah.
"Where do you think she would have gone then?" he asked Lilith in hushed voice, glancing back over his shoulder once more to ensure the Olde were gone. There was still a quite a few hours of daylight left, meaning they had plenty of time to try and find her. He might even be able to ask for aid from another Bachelor guard. Everyone knew Delilah and the shit she pulled.

A deep frown crossed Cael's face as Ron called to her, his eye's saying more than any word he spoke. It made her ears burn with frustration, placing in her mind a thought of rebellious retort toward the stallion, but she held her tongue. They had just gotten out of a fight and starting another would be foolish to say the least. But the flaxen's chest raged with energy as it twisted and turned in her chest, trying to force her legs to propel forward. She wanted to run, she NEEDED to run, and now was not the time to do that. A disgruntled snort left her, her head forcefully turning away from the stallion Lilith declared her lover. But it was not so much him that she was angry with (though his thoughtless actions did not help her mood any) but more the situation as a whole. The argument, the fight, the vision of flames engulfing the city, it was all too much right now; building on her already anxious core.
Lilith's soft words brought her attention back, only now noticing how skillfully she placed herself between the pair in an attempt to shield them from each other. It made Cael smile a bit to see her mate was okay aside for a few small scraps but Ron's affectionate actions only stirred the boiling pot within her. Overwhelmed by her own frustrations, the dark mare trotted a few paces forward in a vein attempt to cool her temper. She wanted to return home, to see her daughter again, and to forget the awful day they had been thrust into.
But first, they had to find Delilah.
