Welcome to Exile Plot 005 : Keep your Enemies Close
Plot: While the majority of your herd has returned to your homeland in the South, a small team was asked to remain behind for a secret mission. . . Khala wants to know what the other herds are doing, and she has chosen a few horses she believes will do the job well. Step, lightly my friends. After all, keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
Setting: TBD
Team Captain: Prophet (x-firefly)
Team Members: Aragon Syria Salvatore Adhara Shiya
Checkpoints Reached: None
Rules: 1. The Captain of the team must post first 2. A posting order must be kept as people enter the rp. 3. No god modding 4. React to the Checkpoints as they come! (If you don't know what a checkpoint is - don't worry - you'll know when they come!) 5. Communicate with your partners! 6. Have fun!!!!
How the posting order works:
Prophet must post first, then anyone can post after him. They can post back and forth until someone else posts, when someone else posts they must be entered into the posting order. For example: Ryder Fay Ryder Fay Jack Kasier Ryder Fay Jack Kasier Kayden
And so on. This means you do not have to wait for someone to join, but once they do their first post you must wait for them.

The rising sun cast warm shades of pinks and oranges over everything the light touched, gently caressing the horizon over the sea. Prophet had rounded up each member that was to follow him and began to move them out early. Mixed feelings swirled uncomfortably in the mind of the Exile, despite his collected form as he lead the small group of recovering southern horses. There was a lot of weight on his shoulders. One would think with as hard as he'd tried to establish relationships with every Exile, that he would have a better feel for those with him crossing this land bridge... however this wasn't the case. A small collection of hardly familiar faces were assigned his responsibility. Stepping on a sharp stone buried in the sun-warming sand snapped Prophet from his thoughts and back to reality, causing a momentary wince. How long had he been spacing out? He wondered briefly if anyone noticed...
Shaking his ivory mane to the other side of his lithe neck haphazardly, Prophet recapped. Keeping tabs on the other herds. It didn't seem as productive as helping clear out their home on the Southern island, where predators have surely ran rampant over their absence- but Khala had sent them, and he trusted her mind. Olde and the Bachelors may be too busy nipping each other's hides to worry about where the Exiles had gone, but knowledge was valuable. Knowledge was power. Prophet cleared his throat quietly, breaking the long-held silence in their small group. "We should get familiar with each other. Would everyone introduce themselves?" His voice cracked ever so slightly before returning to it's usual gravely tone, muzzle offering the best smile he could muster.
((ooc:// sorry guys! I was so wrapped up in the Triple Crown I completely missed this starting!))

Syria | Exile Scout | Mare
They were on a mission and it seemed like quite an interesting one to say the least. The kind that made one nervous for themselves as well as others. Ears perked up as she heard Prophet speak, nodding her head along with his words. Syria glanced about well no takers? Syria lifted her head and looked to them all once more. She didn't know these faces very well, she knew of them but never knew them personally.
"I'm Syria, a scout." She snorted feeling unsure of what she should say but she figured it was best to let them know more then the basic. "I'm great with diplomacy, I have a knack of getting others comfortable in my presence." She was thankful for the gift and feel as if it was a true blessing for this mission perhaps her smooth talking could save them a bit. "I'm not the greatest with fighting, but I'm willing to do what it takes for us all to make it back home." Syria sounded positive and determined as she spoke to the crowd. "We should know a bit about each other though more than a name." She added with a firm nod.
Syria relaxed a bit as allowed for another to speak. Though she had to admit she was both excited and nervous for this journey. They needed to know what the others were doing, those of the other herds. The Exiles seemed weak to the others, but with knowledge of the others it may seem the Exiles could now have the advantage of the others. That was always a plus.

[Adhara//Exile Scout//Mare]
Adhara shook her forelock over her eyes as the sun began to peek over the horizon. It wasn't that she disliked the sun, in fact she quite enjoyed it's warm, soothing rays, but her eyes were extremely sensitive to the light, and the glaring rays made it difficult for her to see. She sighed, looking around the rag tag group Khala had chosen for this task. Some faces she knew, others she was unsure of...but one thing was clear; They were all Exiles. She was glad to have been chosen for this task, as she felt her gifts were best suited toward this sort of thing...much more so than trying to help restore their homeland. She smiled gently as Prophet's voice broke into her thoughts.
"We should get familiar with each other. Would everyone introduce themselves?"
Adhara listened intently as the spotted chestnut introduced herself as Syra. She seemed like a a brave, straightforward kind of mare, and the grulla appreciated that. She flicked her ears forward as the mare continued. "I'm great with diplomacy, I have a knack of getting others comfortable in my presence.I'm not the greatest with fighting, but I'm willing to do what it takes for us all to make it back home.We should know a bit about each other though more then a name."
The grulla mare smiled warmly at the white and black stallion as she spoke. "I'm Adhara, but you can all call me Addie." She paused briefly, trying to decide what else to add while not wanting to prolong things too much. They did have a mission after all. "I have been gifted with far-sight, and I certainly hope I can find a way to put it to good use during our mission. I'm not a fighter in the least, but I am more than happy to aid in any way I can should the need arise." She added quickly, nodding at Prophet encouragingly. He seemed a bit nervous to the spotted mare, but she was confident he could handle the task at hoof. He had always seemed the strong confident type who would do well with leadership, but then again she didn't know him all that well herself. She only hoped that her gut feeling about him was right.

[ Prophet | Exile High Guard | Stallion ]
Two mares had spoken thus far, by the names of Syria and Adhara, to affectionately be called 'Addie'. These two would already be valuable assets with scouting skills, far sight and, if it came to it, diplomacy. Their lack of fighting skills would hopefully be fine... Prophet was a seasoned veteran, and he could hold off any attackers if need be. He was quiet a moment, waiting for others to speak up, but no others had yet.
"My name is Prophet, I am a high guard with skills in Stealth.." Prophet paused again, as if trying to decide to reveal his... gift. "I have been gifted with Demonism." The comment was short and quiet, but those who were still listening would surely hear. Normally he would not be so weary, but these were no foes, and he didn't want them to fear him like others have. "I will protect you to the best of my ability if the need arises."
In the distance, rain clouds hung heavy over the Bachelor's land. The scent of a drizzle carried on the breeze, and he knew that Bachelors could be anywhere now. Prophet turned his gaze to the spotted mare, Addie. "I believe your gift will be very useful here, dear. Do you think you could use it here? And tell us what you see?" Prophet spoke quietly to her. His first plan of action would be greatly based on what the mare reported as their hooves grew ever closer to the East Island. He only hoped she could see well through whatever kind of weather was ahead of them... And what could be lurking in it.

Syria | Scout | Mare
Eyes looked to the other mare. Addie. She seemed indeed quite useful for this mission. Thus it seemed they were the only two at the moment to speak, no shame in that. Ears perked forwards as the words of Prophet echoed in her mind. Demons you say? She thought curiously to herself. She had never witnessed a gift like that though she made note that she would indeed like to see. Horse with unique gifts always seemed to make grand companions right? "A pleasure to meet you both." Syria dipped her head respectfully to each of them. Oh yes she thought to herself. Excellent companions indeed.
The speckled mare shifted a little uneasy as they were in the lands of a herd she was clearly not fond of their ways digested her and if she had a say of she would change their ways completely. That was another missions for a different day. Syria seemed to have to remind herself to stay focus on the task ahead. As Prophet spoke once more to Addie about using her gift, Syria herself loosened up, rolling her blades mind wracking with thoughts and plans in case a smooth talker was what they would need. Anything could happen and they would all have to tread lightly. Syria awaited remaining quiet through this all not wanting to ruin the focus of her companions.

[Adhara//Exile Scout//Mare]
The spotted mare listened as Prophet introduced himself. She she knew who he was, but it was would be interesting to see what he felt was necessary to add along with his name. "... I am a high guard with skills in Stealth. I have been gifted with Demonism. I will protect you to the best of my ability if the need arises." Adhara nodded as the stallion finished speaking, thinking over what he'd just said. Demonism? A powerful gift indeed. Suddenly the grulla mare felt much safer, knowing that there was at least one horse here who had the strength and ability to protect them should the need arise.
"It's nice to meet you both." The grulla turned to see the mare with the flaming speckles dip her head as she spoke. Adhara smiled warmly, and nodded her own head. "Likewise. I'm looking forward to working with you all." She glanced around at the others who had yet to speak. What hidden gifts and talents lie within them, she wondered to herself quietly. Her thoughts were interrupted as Prophet began speaking once more, though it took her a moment to realize he was addressing her.
"I believe your gift will be very useful here, dear. Do you think you could use it here? And tell us what you see?"
Adhara nodded quickly and tuned toward the horizon, trotting a few feet away in an attempt to get a better vantage point without straying too far from the safety of the herd. Looking out toward the Fallen City, the spotted mare took in all should could. Dilapidated buildings, cracked pathways, and overgrown plants seemed to pop up everywhere. Scanning the area, she noticed a small group of horses making their way down one of the old roads. She realized if she focused hard enough, the plants seemed to just disappear from her field of vision, making it much easier to see. Five. There were five horses in the small party, though none of them seemed familiar to Adhara. At least she hadn't seen them before. She observed them silently, unable to hear what was being said, and making due as they passed buildings that blocked her view. The small group seemed to be made up of mostly mares, with maybe two stallions, though she couldn't be sure this far away. Whatever was going on, this seemed like a strange move coming from the Bachelors...
Stepping away slowly, she made her way back to Prophet to inform him of what she'd seen. "I counted five horses wandering the city. Their party seems to be made up of mostly mares, but I can't be entirely sure at this distance, especially with all the buildings blocking my view...We may need to get closer to obtain any more information, as they seem to be heading further into the city..." She trailed off, looking at Prophet nervously. What exactly was going on here..?

[ Prophet | Exile High Guard | Stallion ]
The stallion stayed in place with Syria, giving her a small smile as Addie searched for a better vantage point. Prophet wasn't quite sure how far-sight worked, if Addie needed extreme focus or if it was something she could do passively. Perhaps he would ask her later, if he got a moment. His weight shifted off a hind leg as he cocked it more comfortably, looking to Syria. He couldn't quite pinpoint what she was feeling, but the mare seemed uneased, if just a little a moment ago. Prophet gave her a curious look, raising his brows with a tilt of his thin head which caused him to flinch near invisibly. His neck was still tender from blows Grange handed out to him during the war. Prophet's eyes physically darkened for a moment as his demonism flared with a spark of momentary anger before Addie returned with a report of her findings.
Five horses. Mostly mares. Heading into the city.
What in the name of... What were they doing? Especially with so many mares in a small group. "Thank you, Addie.I agree with you. If they're going into the city, the ruins will help block their view of us. Syria, are you in favor?" He looked at the mare intently, hoping to catch any uncertainty she may display. Addie already seemed in favor, as she proposed the idea- Prophet certainly agreed. "If you all agree, let's continue onward." Every thought possible seemed to swirl in his mind now. Could this be a move to spread the herd out to defend themselves better? Or just make the mares harder to find?

Syria | Exile Scout | Mare
The speckled mare remained silent for the moment as Addie worked, Syria had to admit she was quite impressed with the far sighted gift, a part of her wishing she too could have something like that, but Syria snorted softly ridding herself of the small envy that was growing within her. Syria glanced to the side as Prophet took his place next to her, she offered him a light smiled and returned her attention back to Addie. Though eyes glanced once more to Prophet to catch the light change in his eyes, curiosity grasped her as she looked to him fully now. "You doing alright?" she whispered to him gently. Though her thoughts where cut short as Addie spoke to them. A team made up of mostly mares heading into the city, quite interesting. She thought to herself.
Eyes fell onto her as it was time for her to vote. "I agree we came here on a mission for information. I say we need to follow up on them and see what we can obtain and see if anything is worth value." she smiled with a firm nod. Syria seemed to feel a bit better with the small herd being made up of mostly mares, made their chances seem more even. If all stallions one would worry their small team would be quickly taken advantage of. Syria looked to Prophet as he motioned they all more forward. "Well lets get going before they hide to deep in the city and we end up losing them." Syria moved forwards a bit eyeing the rest of them. Syria wanted to know what indeed was going on, a part of her growing curious. They were on a mission to seek out info, though a part of her truly wanted to know what the other herd was up too. Something felt a bit wrong in all honesty what would a small team of mares be doing? What was the other herd doing was this one following the other herd? Syria shook her head ridding herself of these thoughts and questions that plagued her mind, she needed to remain focus.

[Adhara//Exile Scout//Mare]
The mare watched her companions as they took in the information she had provided. They seemed somewhat concerned, and rightly so in her eyes. Something was just a bit...off...about this whole thing. Things grew uncomfortably silent for the mare as the possibilities ran through the minds of her herd mates. What exactly was going on here?
"Thank you, Addie. I agree with you." Prophet's strong voice broke the silence easily. Addie exhaled forcefully, not realizing she had been holding her breath. She turned to look at the black and white stallion as he continued speaking. "If they're going into the city, the ruins will help block their view of us. Syria, are you in favor? If you all agree, let's continue onward."
The grulla glanced around the group once more, waiting for them to weigh in with their own opinions on the matter. Syria was the first to speak up, and a wave of relief washed over Addie as she did. "I agree, we came here on a mission for information. I say we need to follow up on them and see what we can obtain and see if anything is worth value." Adhara nodded in agreement with Syria's statement, taking note of the diplomatic way the mare seemed to handle herself. Should they be unlucky enough to cross paths with the Bachelors, Addie was quite sure the ember flecked mare would be able to negotiate their way around any violent altercations. Syria was definitely an asset to this mission, and Adhara was glad she had come alone. Waiting for the others to speak out with their own opinions on the matter, the little mare turned to Prophet once more, an encouraging smile slipping onto her face.
"I'm ready when you are, captain." She quietly, shaking her forelock away from her eyes once more. The appaloosa began walking toward the city, scanning the area for any signs of danger.

{Shiya | Exile Scout | Mare}
There was one who had remained silent as the others introduced themselves and not once made a motion to be noticed. Shiya had done so for quite some time now. She had not sleep so well anymore, grown withdrawn as she was when she had first came into the Exile herd and scarcely ate. Ever since she learnt what her herd was doing. They were returning to the south. And she was deathly scared of the thought of it. When she had outright refused to follow most of the herd, even snapping her teeth at anyone who tried to nudge her along, she was given the option to stay and gather information with a small party. Needless to say she had taken the chance most hastily. Save for the unusual relationship she had with a Moose who had saved her life with a meal time and time again, the golden isabella palomino only had painful and frightening memories of the island to the south. The longer it took to go back, the better in her opinion.
Flicking her small ears towards the others, Shiya focused her attentions away from her thoughts and listened. After all this was why she was here. Even though she may likely be useless. Of what she knew of the Bachelors, rumours mostly, this was an odd thing indeed. That is unless they were trying to hide. Yet it made little sense since they did not do as such before that huge fight. A battle she heard it was called. Was it really almost three months ago already...? Shaking her head fiercely, trying to focus herself again, the little mare silently crept closer to the others.

Salvatore | Stallion | Guard
Normally, Salvatore would be one of the first to pipe up when it came time for self introductions. But for a reason unbeknownst to him, today, the cat bit the dunalino's tongue. He stood quietly beside another quiet mare as he listened to the others speak and gave his undivided attention instead. He made note to listen carefully as each individual introduced themselves. There was Syria, the colourful diplomatic scout. He had never seen her in the herd before, let alone spoken to her. And then there was of Adhara, the spotted grey far-sighted scout. Of course, how could he forget Prophet. He was the only other male there, but Salvatore didn't typically mind circumstances like that.
Salvatore looked on with a subtle smirk as he listened in on the two mares discussing with their leader. Whatever the mission, Salvatore was up for it without question and nomatter the circumstances. One could say he was ready for anything, but as he listened he learned they were heading into the city, and as they moved on, he could make out the silhouettes of horses he could not recognize, no matter how hard his eyes could squint. Something deep inside the guard began to unsettle - this was a place he had never been, and they were to keep an eye on a band of horses he did not know. What were the odds that two of the other mares - scouts, at that - seemed to have more courage than a Guard? He shook it off, and sudden urge to protect and do his job well began to wash over the blonde male.

Aragon looked over the exile horses that had been gathered for this task. Surprisingly she didn't know any of them, just their names and coat colors. The young red roan looked to Prophet as he spoke, he had seen him around very often in the herd, he was a large part of most aspects of it. She nodded, agreeing with his idea of sharing, she then looked to Syria, a spotted white mare, and listened intently, knowing how important it was to remember the names and anything else they would say. Once she finished sharing Aragon smiled at Syria and nodded a hello, then looked to the dappled grey mare Adhara and listened intently, ears pricked foreword. Her blue eyes wandered over to Prophet. Upon hearing about his gift Aragon's eye brows knit together, 'Such an impressive gift.' she thought knowing that took lots of magic and energy from a horse to use that kind of power. "I'm Aragon. I'm still an Equerry member but hope to join the scouts due to my size," the red mare joked, she was only 14 hh,"My gift is air manipulation." She said proudly, never sharing that piece of information with any other horse before. "And I'm excited to work with all of you."
Aragon looked around the circle of horses as they talked, she nodded agreeing silently which way to go. Excitedly she shook herself out and choose to stick close to Adhara, seeing that she was closer to her height. "Hello." Aragon said with a quick smile and turned her attention foreword again.

[ Prophet | Exile High Guard | Stallion ]
The painted stallion gave Syria a thankful nod for her concern, trying to give her an active confirmation that he was alright now. A small, red mare also spoke up who hadn't before. Aragon. Prophet recognized her, he thought. If he recalled correctly, she also came to Olde's aid with him, but had the misfortune of being Vasska's sparring partner. In a way, he was glad she hadn't seen combat. She was still an Equerry, too young to have had her life at risk for a king that would not keep his word. Yet here she was again, and Prophet had to admire her spirit. "Air manipulation, you say?" Prophet offered with a smile, as she had taken a place next to Addie.
Prophet craned his neck to look at their other two members who hadn't spoken much. He recognized them as Shiya and Slavatore, two Exiles he wasn't extremely familiar with other than their names and faces. Tossing his head slightly, he motioned for the move-out, and as an invitation for the more quiet members to feel welcomed in the small group. "Let us be on, then. Stay vigilant. If there's a small part of them here, who knows how split up they are..." Prophet kept his voice quiet enough to prevent others that may be nearby from hearing, just loud enough that the Southern horses around him could hear well. They ventured further into Bachelor territory, grass growing longer the further they got from the beach.
((OOC:// I'm really sorry to the three that just joined! I thought everyone had been informed ;; ))
