[Cael] It seemed as if the flourishing green land had swallowed all life leaving only half starved horses in its wake. No voice could be heard over the slight rustling of the tall grass, pushed ever so gently by the salty breath of the sea. Once lively colts became shadows beneath the legs of their mothers who hushed any whiny of hunger. Even the guard, who had begun to regain their lively chatter, encouraged by their fuller bellies, were silent. Cael’s ears twitched, listening to the lonely music of the insects as she made her way through the huddle of mares at the far end of the herd. Several of the guards had taken it upon themselves to stand in a lopsided formation around them, shielding them from wandering eyes. There was a tension that clung to the dark mares throat as it worked its way down her stomach and choked her breath. Each heartbeat that passed wore away at her already tired frame and she would have let her legs give if she did not have a herd to watch out for.
No. She could not let them see her anxiety; an ever creeping presence as the dawn turned to late morning. There was something wrong about today, a little whisper in the ear that told the lead that today was not going to end well. And the voice, well it had only grown louder since the messenger had arrived late yesterday, as the sun set on the Exile’s little piece of resilience.
The memoried replayed itself over in Cael’s head. The majority of the day had been like every other on these foreign soils and it had made the dark mare happy to see her herd begin to gain confidence. The foal’s were beginning to laugh again and the mares held tentative smiles on their faces. No longer were they struggling to survive a long existence without food and water. But the joy of the moment was broken as one of the guards came running across the clearing; a panicked look across her face. The mare struggled to catch her breath before speaking and Cael noticed the quiet tremble of her legs.
“What’s happened?” She held her voice firm, trying to keep the young mare from panicking but it seemed far too late for that.
“The others,” wide eyes looked up at Cael as the guard composed herself enough to speak. “They found a Bachelor stallion wandering near the herd. He insists on talking with you.” The dark mare’s muscles tensed at the mention of the East Island herd. It was far to early for the stallions to come claiming another member of her herd so what could they want. Perhaps they no longer cared for the agreement and planned on taking the Exiles by force.
A frown crossed her face as two more guards came into view trailed by an unfamiliar form. Though the Bachelor had brought no such news of the truce, he did announce the arrival of his leader. “Tomorrow just after sunrise, Cain will be paying you and your herd a visit. He wishes to make a compromise.” It was all the stallion had said before departing.
Since his disappearance, the whole herd had gone silent, worried another of them might be dragged away by the bachelor tyrants. It was enough to light a fire in the mare’s heart. These horses had suffered enough and unicorns as her witness she would not let anymore of them suffer from the choices their leaders made. //
[Cain]
He hadn’t told any of his elites what his plans were for this day - only that he needed some muscle behind him for when he intended to meet the Exile herd, face to face, for the first time since they had struck the deal with Vladek. This had been before he had come to rule, however, and thus, this was new territory. His first diplomatic dealings with another herd, the thought was exhilerating. There was no fear in his heart, he trusted those that he had chosen to either stay or rise to power, and felt that there was no way in which this day could end with something that he wouldn’t be pleased with.
Cain stopped on a rise that overlooked where the Exiles were waiting, and even from a distance, he could see the flame-colored mane and tail of their leader - a beacon for the travelers. “We have come to talk, not to brutalize.” Cain reminded them in his gentle voice, absence of any inflection, though his eyes were heavily lidded, betraying an expression of disdain. It was all a game of strategy, and he planned to play it until the end, even if it was long and gruelling and didn’t make sense to those around him. He didn’t need elites to question him, he needed them to obey. “Feel free to look as intimidating as you want, however. Threaten, but do not act.” Cain added, before nodding his head down the hill, starting toward the other herd again, the sun rising beyond the horizon, lighting the sky on fire. Though warmth was finally in the air, Cain gave a small shiver of anticipation, and his eyes narrowed. He had nothing truly against the exile herd, but if they had something valuable to him as they did, then Cain would stop at nothing to get it. Part of him wondered how the other Bachelors would react - would they scorn him or would they congratulate him? The marwari stallion sincerely doubted that their former leader had ever made such a deal, at least without Vladek’s masterminding behind it. //
[Kanu] All was reticent across the opulent fields and forests. The Exiles that scattered themselves across foreign lands all showed an obvious sign of fatigue and restiveness. Kanu stood like a marble statue atop a slight slope in the lands, the wispy blades of long grass whipping his lower legs in the breeze. His forelock swept across his face as he scanned the area, keeping a sharp eye on every small detail that the landscape had to offer. If there was any sign of danger he would inform Cael instantly, whom he could easily see amongst the other undernourished horses. Everyday since the Exiles had stepped foot on the East Island Kanu had been lacking sleep, lacking optimism and lacking self confidence in his role in the herd. But today he had changed. The personality viruses that had been infecting him were now gone and to replace them was a strong drive of determination. One that emboldened him to protect his family from the clutches of anything dark that tried to engulf them.
As he silently watched the herd from a slight distance, he begun to notice disturbances within the otherwise mellow nature of the Exiles. The mares and foals were all beginning to bunch together, the guards tensing their ground around them. The other stallions were all lying low, something they rarely did. At least this is what Kanu could see from this distance. An uncomfortable tingle ran down the dark stallions spine, the feeling jerked him forward until he was walking steadily down the slope toward the rest of the horses. Towards Cael.
Once he was by Cael’s side, he noticed it. Bachelors. Generally he would have noticed long before they had even approached, but the day had been slow, quiet, and Kanu was not his sharpest. Of course not until now. When he saw the Bachelors a spark lit inside his beating heart that made any weak senses regain their strength. It was a mental thing obviously, but Kanu enjoyed it because it meant he received a mental speedy recovery if ever needed.
As Cain and a few other Bachelor brutes neared Cael, Kanu stood firmly beside her, his head held high and his eyes painted with a color of ice. It was inevitable that Cain wanted something... They were Bachelors, and the horses Cain had brought with him looked like the type to fight for something they wanted. It was the only plausible reason for his visit. The Exiles had done nothing out of the ordinary, so it didn't make sense for Cain to approach for just a reasonable chat. This was the first time Kanu had properly met with Cain. He was hard to read, his posture and tone read ‘truth’ but his eyes and smirk spoke devious intentions. Kanu decided to keep all his inner quarrels where they belonged for now- his mind. His muscles remained tensed and his gaze remained placed upon the light colored Bachelor king. //
[Apollo]
The stallion stood tall, listening intently to Cain as he stated they weren’t here with the intentions of fighting. Apollo was not one to go against this new leader due to not knowing what his capabilities were, though from what he’s seen Cain’s quite clever. The mealy stallion was not one to admire many, but his calm demeanor certainly impressed Apollo. As Cain continued, letting his elites know they could indeed threaten but not engage, he smirked. Peering down below the mustang saw the Exiles quiver up, the stallions tensed up as did their co-leader Kanu, the mares herding up the younglings, but Cael stood there strong and with a stern frown plastered onto her face. Maybe one of the strongest mares Apollo has ever encountered, no matter. They were here for a reason and was attentive as Cain started down the hill, the palomino elite followed by his side, a wall of muscle approaching the Exiles surely sent shivers down their spines. Still blind to the reason why they were there, he went with it until he deemed it necessary to know. Apollo was a bit wary as to how Cedrik and Brutus were to react, he wasn’t as concerned with Ghost as he was a wise stallion that didn’t turn to violence unless it was his last resort. Cedrik was surely a large horse but the palomino was not one easily intimidated by size, Brutus on the other hand. No matter how much he wanted to hate the stallion, he had skill. Certainly not one to be messed with due to his strength and experience, Apollo shifted his weight as his scars were barely starting to heal, it oddly didn’t cause any pain. Though he shook the endless stream of thoughts to an end and merely stood by Cain’s side with an expressionless face, waiting for whatever was to come.
[Ryder] Everyone seemed tense as a brown stallion stirred from his slumber. A sense of urgency surrounded him, rousing him to his hooves. Since the small group of Exiles that had left came back, things had been… strange. He could see the subtle differences in the way the mares and foals acted. They seemed scared, and they had every right to be. Ryder’s blue eyes scanned the mass of horses to find a familiar, tall guard. The grey and white mare stood near the outskirts of a ring of other mares. Her belly protruded as the foal inside grew larger and stronger. Ryder grinned at the sight of his mate, Effie, and was just about to greet her when shadows appeared on the hill top.
Five horses made their way down the slope toward the fiery maned leader, Cael, and Kanu at her side. Ryder snorted at the sight of the horses’ x-shaped scars, marking them as Bachelors. Would they take his mate and unborn child, or any of the other mares or colts for that matter? He took a step toward the mares. His muscles tensing as the group of stallions picked their way toward the Exiles. There was no way he was going to let these brutes take anything from him. The pale stallion that seemed to be the leader was certainly an odd sight to see with such a brutish looking bunch. There wasn’t a scar on his pelt, and his demeanor overall was just… odd. His face held a sense of peace and tranquility, but his eyes held something mischievous. Ryder glared at the approaching horses. He wasn’t going to be fooled by any of their foolish games. This was life or death, and he had a family to protect. Even if it wasn’t a part of his job to do such a thing, he’d protect this herd no matter what. He had left it when things had gotten bad, and he had regretted it almost instantly. This was where he belonged right now. //

[Ghost]
The older stallion nodded slightly, snorting in acknowledgement to what Cain had said. We have come to talk, not brutalize. Though the appaloosa didn't trust the young foreign leader at all, he did see the wisdom in his words. Ghost had no idea what the pale stallion was planning, but as long as it didn't involve un-nessasry fighting, He felt much more at ease following Cain's orders, at least for now. The Bachelors weren't even entirely prepared for war with the Olde herd, and they did not need another active enemy to worry about, let alone one that was on their island. Yes, the Bachelors could crush the Exiles if it came to that, but Ghost had no doubt in his mind that it would end in the loss of many good Bachelor horses as well.
The silver stallion followed the Bachelor King's lead and started lumbering down the hill, toward the intended destination. Holding his head high and squaring his broad shoulders, he looked more imposing than he generally did. The mess of scars that covered his spotted pelt definitely added to the threatening image he presented. Ghost glanced at the other three horses who had also been asked to join this en devour, each of them the definition of intimidating. He smirked slightly, realizing just how out of place Cain looked amidst these strong, heavily scared warriors. Then again, Cain was intimidating in his own right. Ghost didn't particularly like him, or agree with him for that matter, but he did respect him. Cain could out think most of the Bachelor herd, and that alone marked him as one not to be underestimated.
In the distance, the elite could see Cael waiting for them, a few of her own herd standing by her side. Ghost snorted in irritation. He'd almost forgotten that the Exile leader was a brood. While he had very little respect for the majority of the mares in his own herd, he thought even less of those who were not Bachelors. At least Bachelor broods were strong, and from what he'd seen of Cael, she seemed as if she was running her herd into the ground. The very idea of dealing with her when there was no need angered the large draft.Pinning his ears flat against his neck, he continued along, not at all looking forward to what was about to take place, whatever that might be.//

[Prime] As expected Prime soon joined up as well at Cael's side, she had been instructing the other guards to round up and keep a barrier around the others. The poor mares and youngster had been a mess just at the horrid sight of the x-scarred gang. She could understand their fright with the deal in mind.. The high guard did cast a glare towards Kanu wondering just what the Captain had to go thru to be able to live with knowing that he had , agreed to trade away those he had sworn to keep safe for the greater good of the herd... No one was to be left out of the guards sight, no wandering of no matter what they heard as an excuse. Still it appeared one had succeeded in sneaking out of their eye sight..Ryder. As the pinto came forth the mare quickly gave him a quirked look as to ask him what possibly god reason he had for being- it didn't matter she knew the stubborn pinto held the same ideal of wanting to be of best use, when it came to protect others. Though she couldn't help but to wonder if it hadn't been wiser for him to be with his mate.. Then again Effie was probably one of the few mares that wouldn't be frozen in fear as she saw the brutes, no she was a honorable fighter. I better keep a close eye on him, Prime thought with a soft sigh before she broke the silence.
"Stay put." She spoke to the pinto with a firm voice, as further precaution to make sure that he did just that. Prime placed herself as a wall between the incoming Bachelors and her friend. She didn't want him to get in the way if this all took a turn for the worse. Which by the looks of the giants marching with empty stares in their eyes, it very well could. This was her first real encounter with the other herd, other than Rowan and others that had fled from the terrors of the ruthless horses. She never seen one this close up, as such she was scanning them one and one with a somewhat curious look in those golden eyes. They each seemed to hold a certain pride in their walks..all almost ridiculously huge in size, apart from that in comparison to his followers, scrawny looking creampuff in the front. Something about his confident stride along with those sharp looking cold eyes made her shoot a extra 'death stare' towards him. Her apricot tail flickered in a tense twitch, amber orbs narrowing in suspicion. What did they want this time?
Wasn't this deal already bad enough? Greedy, disgraceful,wildings.. The appaloosa mare scratched her teeth's against each other in disdain to not give each and every one of those stupid cattles a piece of her mind. NO, she must remain calm not to give them a excuse to disgrace Cael's leadership, the strong mare stood as firm as a rock even with such intimidating company getting closer to them. Prime on the other hand had a hard time not to show just what she thought of these brutes. They had caused so much pain for others and were walking around like it was something to take proud in? It made her sick! And once she meet the empty blue eyes of the palomino giant, she couldn't help from snorting, puffing out her chest and raise her head to keep her eyes in level with his.
The appaloosa wasn't going to let such a puny thing as size difference keep her from doing her duty and protect the herd.Just give me a excuse too and I will gladly smack you.. She thought and took a step forward the bangle with her herd symbol rattled in its chain as she did. As if she gave them a silent warning not to get any closer. Her eyes sought out the smug looking pale stallion at front once more, something about him was different from the others, he had a certain alive spark in his eyes while the rest looked rather lazy..was he their leader? When the grand draft stud looked so much like she had pictured the brutes leader. The other one had no scars he looked almost timid next to the mountains of testosterone around him. Prime suddenly pinched her lips together to keep from chuckling at the image in her mind. It certainly took the tension off her to picture the brutes quiver from getting scolded by the smaller stallion. Well now wasn't that a sight she would pay to see. //

The soft beat of the approaching stallion's hooves could be heard as their bulky forms grew ever closer. The grass rustled with anticipation and Cael suddenly noticed that even the chirping of the crickets had stopped. The dark mare kept her lips pierced, emotionless. She knew better than to show them fear. Stallions like them, they enjoyed that kind of thing; tormenting and dominating those who weren't part of their herd.
As Cain came within earshot, Cael allowed a smirk to cross her lips. Her head held high, her stance firm, she would show him just who he should fear. "Couldn't come without the muscle I see." The mare's words were thick with sarcasm but she kept her words light. There was no reason to start a fight if it could be helped but she had no problem with defending her herd until her last breath. Cael waited for the Bachelor leader's response, expecting little from the muscle that surrounded him. The scars that covered their bodies meant nothing in her eyes. All horses carried scars, wither they were visible or not.
Golden eyes glances back at Prime and Prophet, her two high guards standing tense but firm in front of the rest of the herd. They two were prepared to fight yet at the same time, they knew when to hold their ground. That was why she had chosen them. Why she trusted them. Cain would not leave this field with another of her herd.

It was clear from even far away that their arrival was unsettling the herd, and Cael had others, whether she bid them or not, coming forward for this encounter. He couldn't help but roll his eyes a little bit at this display - what were five bachelors going to do in the face of an entire herd? "They seem scared already...look at them." Cain said in his soft voice, making sure only his companions could hear as they approached. A smirk curved his lips as he shook a dreadlock away from his eyes, analyzing what was before him. He didn't personally know any of these horses, even from his loner days. He recognized Cael by word travelling alone. She was unmistakable, with her flame colored mane and dark coat.
The mare taunted him, and he chuckled a little bit, coming to a stop in front of her, motioning for the others to halt as well. "No, no I wouldn't come without the muscle...for I am not an idiot. Thank you for noticing." He smiled that charming smile of his, but there was something missing from it. Cain's pale eyes swept over the others that were approaching, their apprehension clear in their body-language, though he could overwhelmingly feel their agitation at their presence. "Are you enjoying your stay on our island? It is a beautiful place...full of life." He said, looking around him dramatically, taking a little cheap-shot at their burned down home. "But the price is a bit steep, I would imagine."

[ Amblyn ]
The day had started out pleasantly enough, but things were about to take a turn for the worst. Behind them the sun rose - a vivid splash of reds, oranges, and yellows - and it almost seemed meant to be that their leader's fiery mane acted as a backdrop to the proceedings. Amblyn watched, ears swiveling at a rapid pace, trying to take in every hushed sound or whisper. Across the rolling waves of green, a band of Bachelors approached them. She had no doubt trouble was ahoof.
Pale, but gleaming hides, greeted them. Scars too, and plenty of them. These stallions were not averse to fighting and their eyes looked keen for battle, even if they remained controlled and behind their own leader. Looking at them, Amblyn hoped she was at least a match for them. This fight certainly would be worth getting her mane dirty.
As the stallions' roving eyes took in their little group, Amblyn puffed up and stepped in front of the mares behind her. She was a guard and her duty was to protect the herd. She would do so to the best of her abilities. Even if it meant putting her own pretty face in the stallions' paths.
"Always with the mindgames and posturing," she murmured as both leaders exchanged haughty words. She knew all about stallions and their propensity for self-glorification. These didn't seem any different. Sadly, their bulk seemed to be not just idle fantasy. They were real threats. All too real, in fact.
As the group bunched up further, Amblyn gave a rough shove to one of the mares when she didn't move fast enough. To her left Prime kept one of their stallions in check and up ahead Cael stood tall. In spirit, Amblyn was standing right beside her. Instead, she remained next to her fellow guards and sneered in contempt at the new arrivals.
"Maybe all sense has gone into their muscles and we can easily outwit them," she commented quietly. "But with our luck they're as smart as they are handsome."
She glanced at one of the older stallions, greying hide smudged with scar upon scar. She snorted. "Well, for some of them, at least."
"Are you enjoying your stay on our island? It is a beautiful place...full of life. But the price is a bit steep, I would imagine," one of the stallions spoke. Amblyn's ears flattened.
"Oh, look, it has jokes," she said to those next to her. Her eyes bore into the stallion in question. She'd expected no different from these brutes, but their joy at the suffering of others made her furious. Only she was allowed to do that.
Oh, yes, it was going to be a long day.

{ Cedrik | Bachelor Elite }
Spotting the exile herd clustered together, he heeded his pale leader's words. The black stallion appreciated that his leader didn't want to exert any force upon the other herd, and he was only here to talk. Though he knew that his leader only brought along the four elites for show, to slightly intimidate the exile herd. The behemoth wasn't one to enjoy his power over others, unlike some of his elite comrades he was currently with, and it didn't help that most cowered away from his 20hh frame. Cedrik snorted softly to himself, knowing that one of the other elites would not be too pleased about Cain's order.
Bringing himself out of his thoughts, Cedriks purple eyes studied the herd impassively, scanning the whole herd, noticing their tensed muscles and heated glares, showing obvious distrust, hatred, and fear of the brutes. His eyes finally landed on fiery mane that could only belong to the notorious leader of the exiles, Cael. The black mare greeted them with a remark that was thickly covered in sarcasm, and Cedrik could not help but respect the exile leader. If she feared the bachelors, she did not show it, she stood emotionless infront of them as if their presence did not threaten her in the tinest bit. Seeing the mare standing so bravely in front of them made Cedrik lightly bowed his head in respect , doing so he would probably receive a scolding from Cain, but he did not care. She deserved the acknowledgement, for as a leader of the exiles, she had faced more hardships then the bachelors could ever imagine. And for that, Cedrik admired her leadership even more, though he would never tell another soul about it.
After Cael's sarcastic remark, his leader only replied with polite words, and plastering on his signature smile. Then Cain continued the conversation on, pointing out a the steep price the exiles paid to live on their luscious island. The black behemoth quirked an eyebrow at his leader's words, trying to read the hidden purpose behind them. But they only puzzled him and he decided not to worry for now and let his frail leader continue on with his hidden objective.

BRUTUS
Clearly he was the only one visibly disappointed that there’d be no brutality on tonight’s program, as Brutus heaved a great exhale through his lips. It was what his communication had been reduced to, snorts and grunts with the not-so-infrequent roll of his eyes. Even so, the behemoth had come without question when summoned by his leader, and now hung back to bring up the rear, not that the exiles were smart enough to surround them in any case.
"They seem scared already...look at them."
They were feeble, they were small, and they were scared. The fear was putrid in his nostrils as they flared with his breath. His own lips curved to mimic Cain’s as he glared menacingly around the herd. He could tell some were chittering like hens behind their leader, but even if he could hear them it wouldn’t bear his notice. Their leader, his mind had pulled him to look at her. Her. No herd could be taken seriously if they were weak enough to be ruled by a meager brood. He almost started chortling if the situation wouldn’t deem it largely inappropriate.
He still had no idea what the situation even was, to be honest. Was it time to take more from them? He hadn’t figured it’d already be so soon, but he was never good with time quite frankly. And while he hated broods and having more of them, he loved taking things that weren’t his even more. Cain’s slippery demeanor gave nothing away, but he was never very perceptive either. The marwari was so serpent like, in fact, that Brutus amused himself with envisioning the lead stallion as a gold cobra swaying lazily back and forth while the Exile brood became a little red canary caught in his gaze.
Brutus bit his lip and grinned madly.

[ Prophet | Exile High Guard Stallion ]
The medicine hat stallion's face held firmly as stone. He was here because he had to be, and wasn't particularly entertained by the air of "superiority" coming from the opposite side. It took everything in his power not to sneer. They were the same as any other horse, though possibly more dense. Some of them anyway. Prophet's chilled gaze flickered between Cael, Kanu, Prime and Cain. Momentarily he wondered what had happened in the hierarchy of the Bachelors, before remembering he didn't much care.
Prophet's mind then wondered back to his dear wife and son. Were they safe? It seemed the largest of them were standing before Cael's unit now- it didn't seem possible for the other Bachelors to be any -bulkier-. His own, more athletic legs stood planted strong as trees into the earth, crest raised confidently. The atmosphere around him dissipated as the calm memories of the ones dearest to him washed over his senses. A slow, long exhale breathed from the elite's lungs, his massive chest fluttering slightly. Prophet swam in his mind for a while, giving himself just a moment to collect himself before focusing on what was sure to be a tense conversation. If push came to shove, the shiny Akhal Teke would be ready.

Cael allowed a short laugh to escape her lips at the Bachelor leaders response. I'm not an idiot: those few simple words were enough to make the dark mare want to fall to the grass in a fit. She kept herself composed, however, resigning herself to a tight grin. "Well I'm sure we are all grateful for that fact." The sarcasm remained, layered thick like morning fog. The thought has crossed the mares mind that maybe she should back off, allow the tensions to settle but for what purpose. No lack of wit or sharp words would change anything and so she allowed it to remain.
Golden eyes caught the glimpse of the largest of the group, his bulk and build towering over everyone; even his own. The mare eyed him momentarily, noting the scowling look he continued to give her. His frown was deep but he said nothing as he stood behind Cain's small frame. But it was at the pale stallion's next words that Cael notice a slight grin grace his lips. Whatever Cain was up to today, certainly meant no good for her herd.
The lead mare snorted as she shook the bright red hair from her face. Amblyn's words cut through the heartbeat of silence though it was uncertain if any of the Cain's little minions caught it. Cine himself didn't particularly seem to care either way as Cael's eyes locked onto his. But there had been enough of the introductions and she was ready to find out what really brought Cain's poesy all the way here. "What do you want Cain? Please, enlighten me."
She kept the grin though, for they would never get the satisfaction of her fear.

[ Prime | Exile High Guard Mare ]
OH NO HE DIDN'T! That insolent pale devil didn't just sass her leader like a foal not wanting to show it's parents respect. Did he think he was proving anything to his companions by acting so rude towards them?! With a disapproving snort, Prime took a further step forward, her amber eyes practically blazed in ire towards the pale stallion. No one, no matter what wall of muscles they had around them. Made her leaders decisions into a joke. The herds hardships where not a thing to joke about, and he bloody well should know better than to attempt to make it one. Despite Cael's much firmer recall to the brute the appaloosa had, had it with these obnoxious stallions silently threatening the herds safety, she would not just stand and take it being spit at in such a distasteful way. No if they came to pick a fight she would make sure to answer them. She tossed her mane aside to reveal her own scarred muzzle to the brutes, unlike them her herd didn't place scars just to show off. No each and every one of them came from conquering another hardship thrown their way. "Tsch.. It makes it rather hard to take anything about you or your pets seriously, with such empty words. It's obvious to everyone that you have something far more interesting to speak of. So with all due respect, Mr. I couldn't agree more when Cael so kindly ask of you to stop wasting our time with further nonsense. Let's see a little proof of dignity to keep from such childish manors. Or are you not confident enough without such remarks? I'm sure you have better things to do..like killing bunnies.." Or braid each other's manes perhaps...She spoke in such a tone that one could get the idea that what she really asked him was if he was man enough to fill his position. If it hadn't been for the fact that she didn't wish to wrong her leader she might just have attempted to more openly put the stallion in his place. But for now she did only show her growing anger with him with a flickering tail and keep her flaming death stare focused on him alone. Just what was he looking for?

The pale Marwari stallion opened his mouth to speak as the rest of his Elites fell into place behind him, Cedrik taking a moment to show respect for the female leader of the Exiles, and Brutus smiling like a fiend. As much as Cain wanted to release the cruel stallion to do what he wished, particularly to the mouthy mares that made a mockery of the situation. While personally, Cain had nothing against mares, he did find the Exiles rather distasteful. At least the stallions had the respect for themselves even to keep their mouths shut. The mares sounded idiotic, like birds that wouldn't stop chirping, their chests puffed out in pride. "Say what you think will make you feel better." Cain said softly to Cael's high guard and what he assumed was a normal guard. "But your insults mean nothing." He shook his head slightly at them, and glanced behind him at his own elites, thankful that they weren't making such a show. "I came here to make a deal, Cael, in front of witnesses from both my own side and yours. I want to know what you are willing to sacrifice for the good of your fellows." Cain murmured, stepping forward a bit, staring into her bright eyes.
"I find that we are soon to be overrun with soft Exile mares, when all of us know that one strong mare is better than 10 of her lessors." Cain continued, his eyes dancing over the ragged band behind Cael, mares and stallions alike. "So I propose that you come with us, and we will take no further mare payment from your herd as tax for sharing this island."

[Kanu]
The dark stallion clenched his teeth with great disdain. He so badly wanted to wipe that smug smirk off Cain's face, but, he knew that would have been the worst thing to do right now considering the pale Bachelor leader was backed up by over one hundred and fifty kilos of muscle. Kanu wouldn't have even been this roiled up about Cain- despite his hatred for the Bachelors- because he needed to respect their land, respect their structure and keep in mind that they're the reason the Exile's are still alive. But, Cain knew that all too well, and Kanu knew that Cain would take advantage of their weaknesses right now, which only made Kanu lose more respect and co-existing emotion toward the whole of the Bachelor herd and their unruly ways.
He remained quiet as Prime spat her words at the opposition. He admired her courage, but he had his own reasons for staying quiet. Observing. Silently swimming in his own mind all while returning to the surface to keep up with what was unraveling before him. He flickered his ears as he glanced back toward the group of mares that Amblyn was keeping in order, simply nodding at her approvingly before returning his attention to the Bachelor brutes.
"So I propose that you come with us, and we will take no further mare payment from your herd as tax for sharing this island."
Kanu didn't even stop to think before he stood in front of Cael, he was no longer tense, but more so forwardly protective. He let one mare go and regretted it more than he could ever imagine, he would not make that mistake again with his own leader. His ears pricked forward and he narrowly eyed Cain, his icy blue eyes intensely sparking. He would protect Cael until he couldn't stand, couldn't talk, couldn't breath. But, deep in the pit of his stomach he also knew that if Cael voluntarily chose to go with Cain, Kanu wouldn't be able to do anything about it. It was beyond his power, which made him feel as though he was being tied to a concrete slab and dropped in water to helplessly drown. Despite the sentence being so drastic and sudden, Kanu managed to keep his own, only thinking of protecting Cael. The Exiles had been through so much, much more than any other herd, which made Kanu feel the need to prove that they still deserved to keep going, to keep fighting and to keep their spirit alive.
((OOC: Sorry if it's not actually my turn, I'm kind of confused about this order but I figured it was my go because it hasn't come in a while ^^"))

[Ryder]
The brown paint allowed the mare to step in front of him. Prime was always trying to protect him in some form or fashion, especially now that she was a high guard. It wasn't odd that the mare would act out like this, but the look of anger and frustration on her face brought a tightness to his chest. He knew that he had made a mistake when he had left the herd in search of safety, but he hadn't thought about how the rest of his herd would feel when he came back. 'She probably hates me for leaving her and the rest of the herd like that. I'm such an idiot,' he thought with a deepening frown on his face. How was he going to be a good father when he couldn't even make the right decisions for himself? His blue eyes glanced behind him at his pregnant mate. She'd be having their child any day now. Averting his eyes, he glanced back at the wall of muscle surrounding the snake-like leader. All of them had scars along their pelts and grim faces. They were probably the fittest warriors the Bachelors had. Ryder let out a quiet sigh. He had scars of his own, and he, himself, was a seasoned fighter, but he couldn't imagine how well he'd do in a fight against one of these brutes.
The Exile scout listened silently as the group of horses grew more and more tense. The leaders were throwing insults at each other, and the guards were spitting some of their own. Ryder's ears flattened defensively as Prime and another guard spoke in harsh tones. This was only delaying the real reason why the Bachelors were 'gracing' them with their presence. When the pale leader spoke, Ryder's eyes widened a bit in shock. He wanted to take Cael? The paint stallion took a step forward. There was no way they were going to take another member of their herd especially not their leader. Cael was a strong horse, but they needed her here to keep everyone sane and calm. However, Ryder had a feeling that, if Cael were the horse he thought she was, she'd give herself up for the safety of her herd. He knew he'd probably do it if he were in her shoes. Wow, things were really taking a turn for the worst.
((OOC: I'm totally sorry if it's not actually my turn. I'm pretty sure it's been 24 hours since the last post, so I just went for it. XD ))

Apollo | Bachelor Elite
The large palomino stallion stood there, as Cain addressed his need for coming to this horrid place. His eyes went widened, a large grin spread on his face but the mighty co-leader interrupted the elite’s pleasurable moment to save the day, causing the stallion to place an even larger grin on his face. Though, a small scarred mare started to make the mustang bubble inside. A lot of bark but no bite, how ironic. Nothing but empty words are being spat at us as well. As the immature filly bickered he sort of felt bad for her, why would she embarrass herself in front of such high ranking horses? Surely, she was chosen for her maturity, then again. The exile leader, Cael, had no respect for us what makes us think she has anymore respect for her herd and herself? Pfft. Apollo coughed loudly, this stallion was allergic to bullshit and wasn't going to take any of it. He raised his slit brow and glared at the mare attentively, if she made a move to even lay a hoof on any one of the elites or Cain himself. Well, she might as well committed suicide. As for Kanu, the co-leader stood quiet. Somewhere off in space perhaps, explains why the herd is being led by such a loud-mouthed mare. It also explains why she’s gotten in so much trouble in the past and present. Multiple scenarios were being played out in the mealy stallion’s head, a psychopathic smirk suddenly was plastered on his face. He corrected his posture, holding his head up high, he glanced at his sides. The bachelor elites were all large, towering over every single one of their so called ‘high’ elites. He watched as the paint stallion, Ryder, tensed up and placed himself in-front of Cael as well, such bravery for such a rude, immature mare that was supposed to set an example not encourage violence when Exiles are so called 'peaceful' and are 'kept to themselves'. Apollo once more coughed and a slight smirk spread across his face once more.
