Cael's golden eyes turned dark as Cain reveled his true purpose for visiting her herd;the grin she had once held with such defiance now gone, shattered by this new revelation. Still, the dark mare kept her head high and her stance strong, her face now unreadable as the turmoil brewed in her mind. The faces of the Bachelor's grew wide with malicious smiles, each of them relishing in moment knowing they had the upper hand. All but Cain who stood before her with an expressions equally as empty as her own. No. The stallions that stood beside the pale leader, as haughty and arrogant as they were, they mattered not. This day was between her and Cain.
The quiet smirk returned to Cael's muzzle as she looked Cain dead in the eye. If this was the kind of game he was going to play, she would play along. Yet as the mare opened her mouth to reply to the Bachelor leader, a tall broad form step in front of her. And then another. Kanu's frame was unmistakable as he was very well one of the tallest horses in the Exile herd. Another, quieter horse stood beside him: Ryder. While Cael did not know him well, the smaller stallion's look of determination seemed to overcome his hesitations. The deep chuckles of the bachelor elites could be heard as the wind carried them toward her ears. To them, Cael assumed, Kanu and Ryder's attempts were feeble and perhaps they were right. But the act itself was comforting to the her, reassuring the lead that maybe she had made some good choices during her short time here.
Thoughts of her herd flashed through Cael's mind; memories of the once starved and dying horse that had survived and flourished in this green land. Sending them home would be suicide but leaving them here to fear the Bachelor's hoof-beats would bar far worse. She could not subject them to that. Already most had survives the stallions' wrath and greed and to give them as payment? She could no longer force that upon them.
"Kanu, Ryder!" Her voice was firm but gentle as she took a step forward to move in-between her guards. Cael knew Kanu would know right away her decision; she need'nt go through the trouble of explaining it to him. When her name had been called to step up and lead this herd, she had sworn her life on protecting it. If this was the best she could do for them now, she would take it.

[Ghost]
The silver stallion's ears perked as their leader spoke. Narrowing his eyes, he kept the surprise and glee off his face as he stared at the smaller Exile horses. This was a better outcome than he had thought it'd be. Taking the Exile leader was a great decision strategically, and Ghost had to admit he was impressed with the Marwari's cunning. Yes, it would mean less broods for the herd, but it also meant that when war came, the Exiles could be a potential ally. It would also mean the herd as a whole would be more broken up..less decisive. They wouldn't pose a threat even if they didn't align themselves with the Bachelors.
Watching as the two smaller stallions darted to stand in front of their leader, Ghost choked back a small chuckle. Cael was their leader, was she not? This was her decision if she agreed, not theirs, not Cain's. If Cael said no to Cain's generous offer, things would go back to the way they were, and the Bachelors would get more broods and colts. One look at Cael's determined face, and the quiet plea painted on the darker stallion's face would let anyone know a decision had already been made. The older stallion couldn't hep but grin. He quickly glanced towards the pale leader, watching his reactions as the scene played out. Maybe Cain could make a good king after all.
((I think it's my turn, But I'm not really sure? If not I'm sorry guys Q.Q The turn order is getting rather confusing))

Prophet | Exile High Guard Stallion
An almost beastly groan caught in the stallions throat, and he couldn't quite grasp how he stopped it from erupting, ripping through his vocal cords so violently it shook his very being- but he stopped it at before it began. Prophet's figure quaked. There truly was no good option. Cael, or an unknown amount of mares. His herdmates stepped up all around the firey leader, including Kanu. Prime had blown up- to little effect- and he almost experienced secondhand embarrassment. Or he would have, had he not had to be holding his best composure to pay much mind to any other words.
It was the look on Cael's face that cracked something in his heart. Deep down he knew the decision she would make- because that's just the kind of horse she was. Prophet was suddenly taking firm steps to the others who had formed a protective barrier around, his thin ears tipped back against his skull. The words "Shove it up your ass, colt." muttered near inaudibly from his pale lips.
He tossed his head to Cael, eyes pleading. "Cael, please. There are other options." The medicine hat thought frantically. He knew they were few, but still they were all less of a direct hit to the morale of the herd. "Vasska would give us a better deal. At least Olde isn't full of snakes." He hissed out the last word, whispering the final sentence. This wasn't how it was going to go down. Not like this.

Prime | Exile High Guard Mare
Prime just rolled her eyes at the weak response, of course they wouldn't be civilized. It had been a weak shoot from her side, in giving these brutes a chance to prove her prejudgment of them to be wrong but, no. For whatever reason they had, being dropped on their heads at birth or just simply being full of themselves. She was proven to be right about them all along, nothing but obnoxious foals. She couldn't help but to wonder how someone as kind and compassionate as Rowan could have come from such a resentful herd. Had none of their mothers ever even attempt to raise some manors into these thick headed stallions? Soft mares... She did quirk her brows in disbelief, had he even seen the mares from their herd? Unlike the cowards hunching to the brutes stares the exiles actually had some spine to stand up for themselves. As she listened to the words of Cain, different emotions was plain to see in her eyes, pure hatred and.. a rosy color came over her cheeks but not from embarassment no.. Her withers began to convulse, her head swung back in a hearty but short laughter! That was the most insolent thing she ever heard even to a point where she couldn't take it as a serious proposal. He wanted Cael to prove herself? Please as if the herd didn't already know how much the mare did for them. This was more likely a trick of some kind of way for him to not have to deal with the difficult mares..from the exiles, got a little more than he barked for perhaps? And now he dared to ask for the most fiery one of them all? Oh you naive little foal, you couldn't handle it..Prime thought with a smug look in her eyes, she knew the mares that had sacraficed themselves hadn't been as willing as desired but to hear the leader try and get out of it with this? Why not just spare yourself the trouble and just give them back if you can't handle them?
"...bullshit." She growled and joined in with the two brave souls already standing at the sides of Cael. She was so proud over them! For showing just how wrong the sand snake was if he thought the deal was even a possibility to begin with. She knew the answer to his deal as true as anything for any exile would give themselves to save another, Cael most of all. But this wasn't a question of her will to sacrifice herself. No she was much more than just a mare. She was the flame that had guided the herd out of the dark on unaccounted times. If she gave herself up the herd would be a even more vulnerable target for the brutes, even if they wouldn't take any more as a barging nothing in the eyes of the snake said that they would be spared from further interactions. Nothing in his deal suggested that the herd wouldn't be attacked once he had taken what he wanted from it and then allow his muscles to run a mock thru the rest. Surely Cael must seen that as well? Not only that but Prime was sure that anyone would give themselves as a shield in order to keep her as a figure of the exiles, unmoved and unbroken by all the tragedies coming their way, only growing stronger like a flame. Even Kanu..despite his agreement in this mess to begin with clearly he didn't agree one bit more than necessary, maybe she had been too quick to judge his reasons for this deal. Nudging her way thru to station herself at Kanu's side the mare pinned back her ears, they may not see her as a treat right now but if they kept this up soon they would get to know just what they were up against. She wasn't a defenseless little filly! She might not be the strongest amongst her herd but she could defiantly hold her own ground if need to.
She turned her head towards Ryder with a honestly mixed look of hurt and anger, she didn't need to be scolding their own at a time like this. Being a mare was already a low sight in the eyes of these wildings if they saw that she was being crossed by the wills of the stallions in her own herd then how would she even dare to think that she could influence those in theirs? She thought about it but decided to leave her order unrepeated, as her friend he would probably tell by her silent signs when to back off, even so there was too much unspoken words between then but now was not the time for it to be brought up and so she would deal with him later... There was no reasoning with them what so ever it seemed. Well if all they could understand was actions this sure would do as to get thru to their thick heads that the herd would never stand back to see this happen. Something that Prophet clearly seemed to react on as well instead of being as unmoved as the brutes, honestly where was his mind wandering off to, in a critical time like this? He needed to stay sharp. They were the exiles and Cael, she was their flame in the dark, he might as well have asked for their doom. Even if she already knew that. And Cael had already asked the stallions to back off..Prime felt the urge to cut thru whatever thoughts must be razing in the mind of her leader, she leaned in to whisper in a low tone for only Cael to hear her words.
"You are the flame that stands for our herd as a unit you are more than just a strong and wise mare, you are the symbol of hope. You can't give that up to them no matter what offer that snake hisses at you.. " She knew her words most likely was spoken in vain, but how could she just stand to watch her leader have such an awful choose to make. One that left nothing but the promise that no one else would be needed as a offering, what about those that were already handed over? Was she just going to let them remain there? For even the glints of saving the remaining part of the exiles would she believe him?! This wasn't for the better of the herd..at least not their herd. I will never forgive you if you do anything to please this loath..She thought with a rough shake of her head, though staying put at Kanu's side and piercing her golden gaze down on the brats before her.

"Does your herd speak for you, Cael?" Cain asked, staring into the group, watching with amusement on his dainty features as the flame-haired female was suddenly surrounded by those from her herd, all shouting out childish jabs. Insults - what were they? Colts and fillies playing at war? "I didn't come here for my herd, my elites, or myself to be insulted - I came here to discuss something mutually beneficial for both of our herds." The pale Marwari said, looking into Cael's bright eyes, staring into her with his intense gaze. "So, if you can't contain your underlings, we will leave. And perhaps we will take a tax, for wasting our time thusly. You know war is on our doorstep, yes? We cannot waste time on playing games." Cain turned away slightly, looking over those that came with him, and then back. "If you need, take a moment to discuss with your herd. We will be waiting."
Cain flicked his nose back away from the Exile herd, moving the band of Elites out of the Exile earshot, in hopes that their leader would come to the correct decision. "Sacrifice one to save the herd - what proud mare could resist?" He said quietly, in a whisper, ensuring the other side could not hear him with the exception of some freakish talent. "She will hopefully be the first of many captives. The herd needs insurance, we cannot continue to bet upon our strength and training. Where once the Bachelors raided unsuspecting stray bands, now they are prepared. They are coming for us." Cain said darkly, looking into the Northern horizon, as if imagining their dark silhouettes over the crest of the hill. "If she does decide to come with us, it will be another one of your tasks to watch her, and make sure she causes no harm - especially to herself. A dead bargaining chip is worthless, and I have a feeling she knows that."

{ Cedrik | Elite Bachelor }
The black behemoth studied the immediate reaction the Exile herd members when Cain suggested Cael to turn herself over to him. At first, Cedrik was slightly surprised at Cain's offer, but then it all started to make sense. Cael was one of the strongest mare's in the herd, hence her role as the leader. Why bother with all the weaker mares joining their herd when she was just what they needed in a mare? Cedrik studied his Pale leader with respect in the strategic offer he just made.
Returning his attention to the herd, They all had tense and panicked expressions. A few select horses rushed up to block their leader from them, others started speaking harsh words that would fall on deaf ears. The few that blocked their leader all spoke in hushed voice, whispering to their leader and hoping to persuade her away from her obvious choice. Cedrik just snorted softly, an amused expression on his scarred face. Why would they bother to persuade her? The look in the mare's eyes told all what she was going to do.
After a few minutes of watching the exile herd's silent debates, Cain spoke to them with a hushed tone. "She will hopefully be the first of many captives. The herd needs insurance, we cannot continue to bet upon our strength and training. Where once the Bachelors raided unsuspecting stray bands, now they are prepared. They are coming for us. If she does decide to come with us, it will be another one of your tasks to watch her, and make sure she causes no harm - especially to herself. A dead bargaining chip is worthless, and I have a feeling she knows that."
Once he finished addressing them, Cedrik returned his attention back to Cael, his purple eyes watching her with complete interest. Will the mighty mare refuse? Or will she put herself on the line just to protect what's dear to her...

BRUTUS The gears slowly started turning in the rather large stallion’s small brain, as the realization of the sudden power shift that would occur sunk into the folds of his frontal lobe. The brood would say yes. She had to say yes. If she didn’t she was just another stupid brood. But would she? Did she even realize they were a herd of barbarians nay to be trusted? His beady blue eyes flickered toward Cain with even more respect than usual at the mention of more captives. The conniving made his stomach flitter with glee.
"If she does decide to come with us, it will be another one of your tasks to watch her, and make sure she causes no harm - especially to herself. A dead bargaining chip is worthless, and I have a feeling she knows that."
That earned a grunt from the Belgian, not like it was a surprise the stallion detested babysitting yet another brood. But if it meant ruling over the Exiles in the end, he’d take it with a grain of salt. But his muscles coiled in anticipation, rippling throughout his hulk of a body in the event the brood said no. Brutus wanted a fight. He wanted to take from them, he wanted the chirpy ones under his hooves or being dragged by their fetlocks towards the rest of the slave broods. He wondered if they knew that’s exactly what he’d do, should Cain let him off his leash. Flicking an ear towards their company he lowered his head to the level of his companions.
“And if she declines?” His baritone dared ask.

[Kanu]
The dark stallion stood firm, the group of brutes he was facing were very large, and very capable of beating someone to a pulp. But what they lacked was herd spirit and deep, meaningful and emotional drives that could turn a weak Exile into someone much stronger than any brute on any Island; emotionally and physically. Kanu right now was feeling one, a deep vibrating in the pit of his stomach that evoked many different emotions. He wasn't empty like the Bachelors that stood before him, he felt something- which would give him enough strength to fight off any one of them, even if he didn't come out alive. He was not saying a word, but he didn't need to. Everyone knew his intentions the minute he stepped in front of Cael.
He almost couldn't stand the way the Bachelors instantly assumed the Exiles were scared. Why? Because they were standing up for their leader? Because they were standing up for themselves? He couldn't hear them talking once Cain turned his back on him but he knew they were thinking it. Their expressions showed it the minute their eyes met. They thought the Exiles so inferior to their own kind, just because natural disasters chose to rip up the Exile's land and force them off it. Kanu would much rather be on his own Island- but he would also much rather have a herd healthy and thriving than choking on smoke and starving to death.
But, just like everyone else. He knew when it came down to it- it was Cael's choice. And she would take it. He worked closely with her, and it didn't take an idiot to know she would do this for her herd, which almost saddened Kanu, the fact that the herd- that Cael had been reduced to making this decision. He stepped aside, sighing heavily.
"Cael?".

{Ryder} The brown paint looked back when his leader called his name. He glanced at the wall of brutes before taking hesitant step back. Cael was a strong horse, but was it really the best idea to listen to these monsters? All the Bachelors were self-centered and egotistic, there was no way they were in this just to take one more mare. They had to have other plans for the fiery maned leader. Ryder took a place beside Prime. His torn ear flicked toward the others as they spoke to Cael in hushed voices. It was true that they would probably get a better deal from the Olde's leader, but Ryder was sure he would have his own deal to offer them. What would Olde ask from them? To join on their side of the war against the Bachelors? The brown stallion let out a frustrated huff of air, turning his head to look at his mate, Effie. The pregnant mare would be giving birth any day now, and that meant that they would have one more thing to watch out for. If the Exiles did team up with the Bachelors against Olde, they would at least have a higher chance of winning, but he couldn't imagine helping out these scarred horses. They were nothing but monsters, not worthy of any help.
Ryder's light blue eyes turned toward his leader. He studied her facial expression. She would take the deal for sure. It was her duty as leader to make decisions for the herd, and this was her choice to make. "Cael, I have a feeling I know what decision you're going to make, but... is there some other way? Prophet has a good idea with asking Olde, at least then we'll know what choices we have," he said, not really caring if the Bachelors heard him. Cael was the Exile's rock. She had lead them through the most difficult of times, and she had prevailed and given them all the strength they needed to push through it. They needed her here to continue that. With her gone, who knew how the Exiles would react?

Apollo
Apollo followed the marawari to huddle around his fellow elites, he bobbed his head slightly in a respectful manner to Cain, this rather scrawny looking horse compared to the rest of his elites has earned the utmost respect to the extent that he could respect a leader. Though his attention drifted to the Exiles, oh how he desperately wanted to kick each and every one of them. He muttered under his breath, staring down the horses that conversed, they had no respect for the elites even though they showed no harmful actions. Sure, they were big. What were they supposed to do, cower and shrivel up before their hooves? No, they were respectful though they seem to beg for rude behaviour back. Haven't they heard you treat horses the way you want to be treated? Pfft, inbeciles. Sure, some brutes in the herd mistreated mares though they shouldn't put a label on every single one of them. These horses were, in a way, worse than the Bachelors. Bachelors had the decency to try and make themselves looks presentable, unlike these fools. Spitting out childish slurrs and tantrums, at the end of the day Cael was the leader not them. They should know their place and let their leader fend for themselves. If she was worthy enough, strong enough, to become elected leader. She should be able to fend for herself without anyone infront of her. Plus what would they think? A couple horses would make a difference if she, herself, decided to go. Apollo had a full-on conversation with himself in his head, not making an expression but a stern one while doing so. He gritted his teeth as he glanced at the small filly, known as Prime, she... She was the only one he has loathed to be sent to the bachelors. We would break her, crush every last bit of hope, and leave her empty inside. Nothing but a memory, his hatred for the mare grew as he described the ways she would be broken. Every way possible, by himself or any stallion really as long as it is done. If her hope was lost, that feisty little mare would be a fine brood. Apollo looked at the mare from her hooves to the tip of her ears, well... She isn't as attractive as the others, but as long as she births strong colts she's okay. The palomino's eyes averted the mare before she could catch him, he then looked at Cain. "If Cael declines, that mare that goes by Prime. She seems, strong. If we were to take a mare of course I would recommend that feisty thing, she'd certainly survive a child birth or two." Apollo hushed, but then added. "But, a very good move in requesting Cael, sir. What are your plans once taking the fiery-maned mare? If those plans can be discussed here.." With that the stallion awaited a response, reviewing every one of the horses once more.A few, more than a few, were having trouble just controlling their own thoughts. If the mealy mustang could catch them off-guard , which shouldn't be too hard, they would all fall like trees. All in good time, only if commanded of course...

Prime | Exile High Guard Mare
Why are they the only once that gets to offer a deal? It's not like we wish to be here in the first place.. Why must everything be beneficial for only them...Obnoxious, greedy, ignorant, voracious, self-centered, coldhearted shells of equines! Prime took a deep inhale and sighed, what fate had they gone thru to become such vicious beasts..did it matter? No, not when it came down to the core of it after all she didn't want a reason to feel bad about inflicting damage to those brutes should it come to that it was better to not have an understanding of them. Not even that old one that had had the decency to politely offer a sincere bow before their leader, atlas it appeared some might not completely lack manners. However Stormcry was right all along, they didn't see them as equals at all. To them they where nothing but a source of.. tsch. Her thoughts got cut off by this unmistakable feeling of having someone's eyes on you, turning her head towards the mass of testosterone, her eyes narrowed her lips pouted as she didn't succeed in locating the cause of that unnerving whim. Turning to Ryder with a annoyed glare - though now it was clear to see the little smile behind said pucker of the lips. All seemed to wait for Cael to speak, to reveal her choice. It was remained unspoken though everyone seemed to already know the answer. Not much to lose then..She thought with a light pull of her tongue against the inside of her right cheek before she with a soft humming took a step forward.
"The saying of keeping once friend close but once enemies closer, seems to fit pretty well a line with my own take on this whole deal." Her voice was firm but there was a certain warmth in it that hadn't been present with the brutes. These equines opinions actually mattered to her, they were worthy of her respect. As she hope she was of theirs. Encouraging the others to come closer with a light bobbing of her neck she began to speak in a hushed tone.
"As I see it we can either play this game, by their rules...or we can strive for and seek a greater option, coming from someone unknown if we ever where to make it there at all. The Olde might have a better offer however, I doubt we all would make it from these lands. It's not a bad alternative but I don't see how it will serve to keep our herd united. They might think us as weaker, but our power goes further beyond their comprehended due to their foolish belief to be invincible and that my friends is a good thing, for they give us a ultimate advantage..the element of surprise~" A pleased gleam in her amber eyes as she uttered the last words in a satisfied humming.
"Let's play with the thought of being their allies, while we are at it let's throw in that if they lay a hoof on an exile. They will have to answer to the whole herd, should they cross that line they would be caught between two herds and even if they don't see us as much of a treat it's still not a good thing to have 60 equines coming for your nape. As pro we will be aiding them in this war..however once the battle begins there is not saying we need to keep that promise. It's not our fight and they will be busy with the Olde herd.... Yes, I suggest we play a even falser game than this snake does. They are certainly ignorant enough to fall for it, after all if they wanted the leader and got the whole herd..what sort of greedy beast could refuse such a deal? " Prime casted a meaning glare towards Cael, she might be the flame of hope but that didn't mean she didn't need someone to send a spark towards it once in awhile. It was important for them all to not feel like this was an impossible situation, if anything nothing seemed impossible to her..no not amongst these fine horses.
A heavy sigh left her as she scratched the ground with her left front hoof, why should so much weight be placed on one single equine? "I'm sick of just standing by to see our comrades fall or run from this fate just because it doesn't look that great, well you can't outrun everything in life. I'm tired of being seen as defenseless when I know just how much passion and spirit this herd possesses as one, you believed that to when you ordered the herd to train for battle.. The choice is yours Cael, I don't doubt you to make the right one. Not at all I say this because I care for this herd and.. for you. No one should have to face their fears alone... Stubborn, Sincere, Earthly, Survivors. Those are our marking words for this herd, notice it's not survivor but survivors, we are strongest together.. " She turned to look at Ryder while she was at it she might as well try and underline what she thought of his little run away.
"For those of you that feel like you have lost your home, as long as we have each other no matter where we are, we will always have a place to call home, a place to belong. That is why I think we should keep a united front even if we are heading into the jaws of death once more, we have tangled with it more than any one and coming out stronger each time. " The appaloosa panted as her final words poured out in a low whisper from her, all that build up frustration coming out in her little fiery speech, which she seemed to have a habit of giving when she cared deeply about something. The fear of the unknown was hovering over the herd like a hawk over a mouse, others were coming up with good but naive ideas that some other bird might take the mouse instead of the hawk. Perhaps but what made that fate better than the one you knew something of? Prime took a long moment to just look to each and every one of her fellow members, even those at a safe distance. Offering a light nod towards Amblyn, weak mares., hu? She thought with a slight twitch in the corners of her lips, pulling up into a sly smile. We will see about that...

((Sorry I'm so late to reply guys ^^;;. I've been off of vacation but I'm back now))
A heat rose over the dark mares hid as her high guard tried to convince her of other options. "ENOUGH!" Cael's hoof dug into the ground, fueled by the turmoil that twisted her stomach into knots. Sure she had hoped for other ways out but there was little option. The horse here, the ones she cherished more than anything, they could continue to live and survive even without her. At least they would be free.
"Prime!" Bright golden eyes turned to the young mare. She was fiery and full of spirit; one of the reasons the lead had chosen her to step up to high guard. But she was still naive and only time brought about the wisdom of experience. "You must learn to hold your tongue. Your passion is inspiring but your tact needs work. No matter your level of hope, it will not help you or your herd succeed in battle." The fiery mare snorted as she took a step toward Prime. "What you did today could have caused a fight, a fight that we are not prepared for. Even with an entire herd against five, they are trained warriors. Even a victory for us would cause unnecessary bloodshed among innocents who have no such training. You may be guard but battling another horse is on a much different level than battling the beasts of the south." A moment of quiet passed over the small group as the mares fiery nature shone through. Any other time she would have allowed it to pass, grateful for the life that herd guard showed. Today was not that kind of day though.
The lead turned from the small mare, trying to let her anger subside. "We are not just a group of unorganized horses huddled together, trying to survive. We are a herd, and as much as we may not like these stallions we will not be disrespectful idiots." Her gaze swept over the others, each of them with various expressions reflecting in their eyes. "That goes for all of you. Do not allow yourselves to succumb to their taunts and behave beneath yourselves. You are guard and you are scouts. You are part of a herd that you should be proud of so treat it with respect!"
Cael allowed herself to glance toward Cain, his smaller frame hidden between the coats of the larger elites. There was one solution that would buy the herd enough time to figure out what to do to escape the Bachelors rule. Moving back to face her herd, the mare let out a sigh finally releasing the anger and frustration she felt. " I will accept Cain's offer." She allowed the words to sink in, only now fully accepting her fate. "Take the herd north, toward the Olde Island. There, you can decide where you wish to stand." While the Olde may not be any better, at least Vasska was unlikely to take the herd hostage.

As his elites grouped together, all of them towering over him in a somewhat comical fashion, Cain's curled ears perked to hear the other stallions' thoughts. As Brutus voiced his concern, the Marwari shook his head slightly, casting his glance backwards at the herd where she saw Cael discussing with her herd members in a very animated, but leaderly fashion. Once they moved closer, he would know her decision without her even needing to speak it. He would feel her resignation, and her herd's dismay, and it would be beautiful. He would drink it in. But if the Bachelors returned to their parley and all he got was fierce defiance, indeed, what would he do? Cain opened his mouth to speak, but Apollo got there first with his suggestion. Even Cain couldn't keep the derision from his face, as he smirked slightly. "Do you hate your herdmates so much, Apollo? Why would you curse them with such an affliction?" Cain murmured, his ears hugging his poll as if her taunts were continuing. "If we were to take her, Brutus would have no choice but to rip out her tongue." Which the giant roaned stallion would surely enjoy, Cain surmised, but he hoped it wouldn't come to that.
Apollo's question caused Cain to take pause, straightening out a little bit. What WOULD he do with her? The possibilities were endless, but for now, there was only one motive. "No matter what occurs, the Exiles will flounder and struggle, needing to find a suitable leader in time. So if nothing else, Cael's absence will put them into chaos for a short time. Enough time for them to stay out of our affairs with Olde. Also, holding someone so precious to them might cause them to do something reckless, silly. If they try to raid us in our own land, we will be prepared and take them down. I expect division, and as a last resort, a bargaining chip if our strength fails us." He hated saying it aloud, especially to his elites, but it was a real possibility. Assuming that they were bulletproof was foolhardy.
Cain glanced back and saw Cael look toward him for a second, looking somewhat resigned though angry. "I believe they've had enough time to deliberate." Cain said quietly, nodding his head to the Elites before turning and stepping forward again, a bit closer than they had been standing previously. He allowed his Gift to sense the herd, and indeed Cael was feeling anger and frustration, it tingled in his brain as if he had stepped close to a warm fire that licked forward, threatening. It was quite enjoyable. "What say you, then? Will you sacrifice yourself for your herd?"

Apollo
The large stallion held back a chuckle, Cain was quite humorous. Apollo replaced the laugh he so badly wanted to let out with a huff, smirking at the thought. "Of course not" His throat ,although childish, tickled as he continued to re-play those words his leader spoke in his head. He shook the thought from his head, his assertive expression returned to his face as his king forth-righted his request once more. Hopefully the mare wouldn't speak evasively and give a direct answer, though Cael being the strong mare she is she'd probably say it without even stuttering. Though shortly before Cain approached the mare, Cael had talked down to her so called high guard; Prime. About time she learned her place. Irritation overcame the stallion as his muscles noticeably twitched under his palomino coat, his mind flooded with dark thoughts. Apollo shook his head, if his bipolar-ism tried to take over he'd surely try and keep it sealed up. He tried to distract himself from the horrid thought of ruining the somewhat professional meeting, but the fiery leader's abstract mane caught his attention. No horse, ever, wore such a mane like hers. Her mane stood out like flames on her black coat, reminding the stud of a fire that riddled the night floor. Apollo watched the mare closely, her stature seemed defeated. Surely she would say yes, or so he thinks..
