Godric felt his heart beat faster as the wall came into clear view. They just needed to get past that, and then the beach wouldn't be too far away. They could do this! they could get off this damned island, and get Griffin to safety. Godric glanced to Beartooth, and saw her smiling faintly, mirroring her facial expressions. He turned his head back to the wall, and skidded to a halt as he saw the unicorn, who's golden pelt stood out in the dark night. He skidded to a halt with the others, and backed up, quickly shielding Griffin and nudging her behind Beartooth. He stood beside her, Griffin peaking at the golden horse between their legs. Her eyes widened slightly as she saw the horse, who had to horn coming from behind their ears. Griffin tilted her head slightly, thinking that unicorns were supposed to have one horn. Maybe he was special or something, she thought.
Godric pushed his ears back as the Unicorn roared Ba'yagu's name, looking to the witch. She was their protected on this island, but he did not think he could understand what she must be feeling right now. To have her old life come rushing to her face, screaming at her. He licked his lips, and wished he had his gift, to have some greater way of helping his family.

Alistair disappeared from his side suddenly, and the multi-colored stallions heaved out a sigh. The events that followed could only go down hill from here. Yes, he imagined they would capture the mortals with ease, but he feared what would happen after. His king did not look on kindly upon those that broke rules. A second shiver ran down his spine, this time however, the cold was not involved. He respected his king, and rules were not to be broken. He understood that. Pippin cantered out of the water after his superior quickly - hoping to close the gap the golden lion of a unicorn had created between them.
By the time he was in stride with the royal - words were already being spewed at the mortals. Alistairs roar seemed to shake the earth around him. Pippin felt himself trembling under the wake of his anger. He was about to join in the caterwauling when his eyes locked with the witches. Her eyes shown an expression he had never seen before, but it drove into his soul and placed a pit in his soul. He shook his head, what kind of power did this mare have?
"There's no reason to run" he said, words monotone, " We're trying to help" His words felt true, they were helping to exterminate, or perhaps these mortals could be saved from the witch's evil shadow.

The night was light, the wind was rushing on her face, and Eve was running beside her. Everything was as it should be, but then it wasn't. The night clouds made the air feel heavy - she wasn't sure she was breathing, the wind didn't blow. Eve wasn't there. There was no one to take the blame for this mess, or dig her out. Eve couldn't save her, and she knew that. But the pang of loss hit her in a way that she felt she could fall to the ground. Her knees only shook, and she raised her head high to meet Alistair's gaze. She wanted to speak - but the breath had been sucked from her lungs as his lips shouted her name. She was lost, the anger in his eyes so real that it wounded her like the weapon it was.
"Alistair." Her voice was cold. The pain she had expected to hear in his voice was absent. It made it harder to breath.
Then another figure appeared from the trees, and the witch felt if all the ghosts of her past had come to guide her to her grave. Surely she had dug it herself long ago.
"Pippin?" Her voice escaped her, his name filling wells in her eyes. It had left her voice as whisper, the tiniest crack breaking as she closed her eyes. The Witch felt the need give up then, and there. Her eyes flickered towards the ground, only flitting over the young family - Beartooth and Griffin. Her twisted lips, straightened. She and Eve hadn't come all this way to let their kind ruin the lives of mortals in the end, her body whipped around to face those she was leading.
"Run!" The scream came from her mouth, half an order, half a cry of fear.

Her mind was still registering everything.
Now there was not one but two unicorns. She backed up more, urging Griffin to keep behind her and Godric. The second unicorn seemed familiar to her. She had encountered some unicorns previously, when her and Miraphy had disappeared. One of those unicorns had been the princess, another had been a guard of the princess, and then there had been another unicorn, one with a chimeric pelt. She prayed they did not recognize her.
The witch looked just as stunned as she and the others did. The unicorns stared her down.
No reason to run? Trying to help? That was ludicrous.
The witch's scream rang in her ears and immediately she turned around. She nudged at Godric before hurriedly pushing Griffin to run. "Go! Go!" she yelled, "run, Griffin! Run!"The unicorns might be in the way of reaching the wall, but perhaps if they all took off at the same time, they could create enough distraction and actually make it. She didn't dare look back to the unicorns as she took off, galloping towards the wall. She looked to Griffin and Godric. "You can do it, Griffin!" She cried, "come on, keep up with mommy and daddy!"

Run, she beseeched. As if there was anywhere they could run that he would not find them, as if there was anyway to avoid being hunted like the vermin they were. Didn't the witch know it was too late to flee? The hound had caught their scent, and there was not a thing in all the world that could keep him from the chase. His master had bade him to fetch, and so he would, the blood of quarry between his teeth.
"Pippin! Don't let them get away!" He snarled without looking at the chimera. His eyes were on Ba'Yagu. She’d escaped the King’s justice once, but she would not be so lucky a second time. Alistair swore it deep within his furious heart as he lurched after his enemies, his hooves no longer silent but pounding, reverberating across the earth. He wanted them (her) to know he was coming, wanted them (her) to know the primal fear of being his prey.
This bestial sadism was unlike him; Alistair had never taken pleasure in punishment before. He approached his commands as an Overseer should. Calm, impartial, just. He took pride in serving his king, but the darker parts had never inspired much emotion one way or another. It had been duty.
But this... this was vengeance.
"Ba'yagu! Turn and face me!" He screamed. The golden unicorn was gaining ground on her easily, quicksilver in his veins. "Do you truly think your quicklings can outrun me? Do you think you can outpace me?"

Out of nowhere, the two horned beings had come and blocked their path. Kiro skidded to a halt, his hind hooves briefly meeting his front ones before he stood upright. One of them had bellowed to the witch, and the pure venom in his voice carried through the air as he continued. With BaYagu's command Kiro had started into a sprint, feeling every inch of muscle course with adrenalin. The arrogant tone of the golden persuer rang through his ears and caused a sense of bitterness to come over him. They thought themselves so superior did they? Like there was no possible way any of them would escape under the witch's guidance... As a young child Kiro had followed the witch from a distance to learn the paths between the island and from what he had seen she was much stronger and wiser than they were giving her credit for. He decided there and then to throw a little havoc into the game, which he had to admit was very enjoyable to him. He focused deeply on the ram horned unicorn, his eyes beginning to shine with a faint glow as he honed in on his mind with great difficulty. Then, he sent short bursts of images at him. Snapshot, split second visuals of BaYagu running in different directions and at different distances from him. He hoped it would work and that unicorns didn't have some mystical power of telling where the gift came from. Still, he didn't feel as if it was enough so he tried harder, panting becoming more heavy with the effort as he transformed mere flowers to big obstructing trees in Alistair's mind. Then he waited a little and continued running, it was useless to carry on if it hadn't worked so he would observe first.

The sudden appearance of unicorns blocking their path should not have been as big a surprise as it was, it’s a pretty common Olde tactic to block your opposites escape, especially if there is only one way out. Enigma just wished he had thought of that before so he could have warned the rest of the herd. Now they were running from at least two foes, one who seemed to think himself a god of vengeance and one whom was emotionless. Truly Unicorns training must be at least half as punishing as the Olde herd’s.
Enigma’s mind was racing as he attempted to think of a way to escape the two Unicorns behind them. If they separated then only two would be captured but that would leave those two to the wolves as it was. These two seemed to be after Ba’yagu for vengeance or punishment, although the twin horned one seemed to want to rip her throat out himself there and then. Separation was out of the question for Enigma could not bring himself to leave any of these horses to be tortured or worse.
Enigma was not a strong horse nor was he fast but where others were faster in hoof and stronger in leg then him the tri-colored stallion liked to think himself able to think himself out of situations. If only they could gain enough distance between themselves and their pursuers. If it came to it Enigma would stand and fight before letting them get their hooves on Ba’Yagu or on the small filly whose life had just begun. Enigma would at least snap one of those once holy horns if they even thought of torturing that small life.
The old anger that had drove him from his Olde home and his abusive father, started Burning along Enigma’s spine to dig its talons into his mind.

Pippin blinked, the sudden wave of witch's running to and fro made him feel dizzy, but as suddenly as they had come they had gone. He looked back and forth frantically as he tried to caluclate what he should do. Which option was best? When Alistairs words hit him. He was not to let them get away - the order was clear and it was all Pippin needed to move.
"With Pleasure" He commented, voice unwavering. He wondered if he could stop them from running towards the wall. He laughed, of course he could, and as long as he could direct them away from their escape route Pippin could ensure they would win. The mortals hadn't the slightest idea of the other three land bridges that spread of the crescent in various ways.
Instead of running after the others he aimed past them - the ground disappearing under his feet faster than it ever had before. He had never had to run with purpose before. He smiled as he glided towards the wall. He thought he saw another shadow of the witch as he ran and grimaced. Whether it was the witch of another of those around - he hadn't the slightest idea which Ba'Yagu was real or which was false. It was an excellent trick. Pippin weighed the probability in his head. He could turn right and capture the real bayagu or a ghost. How many witches had there been? 6, 7? The probability was not in his favor.
Ignoring the equine next to him - he surged forward, placing himself directly in front of the wall's opening. His own, small force field was nothing compared to that of the witch's - but it would not waver if the mortals tried to pass him. He looked onwards at the mortal horses in front of him - the five of them had no chance now - no knowledge that there was another way out.
"Don't try" He breathed, his heart racing from the sudden exercise. "I told you, we're trying to help"
Another Bayagu waivered behind a close-by tree and he winced. Was she the real one? He was lost to the confusion. Now that he had a chance to observe, Pippin noticed that the other chimera had not left the clearing. He scoffed - was this horse going to try to fight?

Godric froze as the witch and double horned unicorn exchanged words, and almost jumped out of his skin when she suddenly screamed. He licked his lips, and felt as if everything was going slow. Beartooth was yelling too, turning towards the wall, and Griffin was shaking, backing away, turning towards the forest. Then things were flowing too fast. Another unicorn was here, and was advancing towards Ba'yagu, Beartooth was running towards the wall, and Griffin was running, deaf to her mothers words. Godric turned and tried to move, but his feet felt frozen "Griffin? Griffin!!?? stop!" he yelled, looking back to Beartooth. He felt his heart tear in two. Go after his mate, or daughter? "Beartooth! stop!" he yelled quickly, before moving towards Griffin, who had slipped under everyone's jostling legs and was bolting as fast as her legs could go.
Griffin? stop! Her dad's words fell on deaf ears, and Griffin pumped her legs hard, heart racing and eyes wide. Everything was happening too quickly for her head, and her fight or flight instincts had kicked in. The loud beating of her heart increased the fear that moved her feet, and with everyone yelling and trying to get away, it was all too loud for her. She panted, body shivering as she dashed back into the beginning of the dark forest. Without her mother and father by her side everything seemed even bigger and threatening than before.
Godric did his best to get through the confused bodies, but his large body made things difficult in getting past the others, bumping into more than one horse. He felt himself panicking as he saw the last glimpse of his daughter go into the threatening forest "GRIFFIN" he screamed loudly, glancing back to try and spot Beartooth.

She soon realized that neither her mate nor her child were following, instead they were going the opposite direction.. She had not realized the chimera unicorn had moved to block the entrance of the wall and was now standing there with a force field raised. Getting past that force field would be impossible. "GODRIC! GRIFFIN" She screamed in panic, skidding to halt a few feet in front of the unicorn. Making a half rear, Beartooth whipped herself around and took off again. But she couldn't see where her mate or her child had gone. Everyone around was moving too fast, there was so much panicking and chaos. "No, no, no...unicorns, no," she whimpered, biting down on her lip.
Beartooth galloped towards the treeline, dodging past the others, screaming for Godric and Griffin repeatedly. She had to find them. That was the direction she had seen them going in and she would be damned if she did not try. She could only imagine how terrified Griffin must be. It was night time too, her dark coat would make it even harder to find her in the forest. Oh, her precious baby, she just wanted to hold her close and tell her everything was alright.

Bayagu wondered for a moment if she'd miraculously obtained time manipulation as everything around her stopped. Pippin was here, Alistair was here, and eve was not. Her mind seemed forever stuck on that fact, but her son was alive and that feeling brought on a shower of emotions that she did not know how to feel. She wanted to ask him so many questions, know so many things - but as soon as he was there he was torn away again - this time of his own volition. She had no time to speak to him. Alistair was her problem now, as much as he was in the past.
"Valraldic would send you two to hunt me down, wouldn't he?" She turned slowly to face him, wasting no energy to look upon his face. Her eyebrows were set low over her eyes - and after she turned she was still. Perhaps she could buy the others sometime - and perhaps they would find the northern land bridge on their own - if only they'd run the right direction. If only there was a way she could give them a hint - a sign without letting the unicorns follow it. She thought hard as she looked him over - a foul beast he'd become.
"No, but you can be outsmarted" She replied, taking a dainty step toward him as Kiro's shadow-versions of her ran around - looking for the escape she wished she had, "and out powered. How else do you think you were locked in the cresent all this time?" Her heart was shaking, but her voice stayed smooth. She would not show weakness in front of that whom had shown himself a foe. She focused all her energy on the unicorn in front of him - channeling herself until he was lifted off the ground.
It took all of her might to throw the stallion into the river water from which he had appeared, but she managed.
"FOLLOW ME" She roared her own battle cry - turning north at full speed. If she could just start them in the right direction - perhaps she could distract Alistair and Pippin from following further later.

Alistair snarled as pale shadows of the witch danced across his vision, confusing his perceptions. He couldn't hear the imitations crashing through the brush, but their silvery hair caught his eye, scattering his focus. At least one sense was lying to him, and he was willing to bet it was his eyes. Reality manipulation, he spat to himself. No duplication spell was so powerful, nor would it make intangible copies. If he followed the hoofsteps instead of trusting his eyes -
The dunalino startled and darted to the side as a sizable redwood appeared in his path, sprouting from the earth like a weed. A parlor trick, designed to slow him down, and gone as quickly as it had come. Someone was messing with his mind, and he suspected it was the witch. If not, that someone was going to be the first mortal he struck down.
As the real Ba'Yagu stopped, so too did the Overseer, his cream hooves digging wounds into the earth as he slid. There was not more than ten feet between them, but it felt like miles yet. Alistair wanted nothing more than to bite into her throat and watch her silver blood run red. He might have tried it, had her words not stayed his hoof. Confusion twisted his expression, some of the rage ebbing from his eyes, however briefly. His King may have indeed meant the mission as a reward, but Pippin? Pippin had merely been available, useful. He'd been nothing more than a thumb of a child when she'd committed her acts of treason. What connection could they possibly have? Alistair's sore tail lashed, the rage returning with a vengeance. "The King has blessed me with the opportunity to bring you to justice." He told her simply.
And then his hooves were leaving the ground. Alistair flailed wildly, legs and tail lashing, a guttural roar in his chest. His stomach turned flips as he was tossed, all the breath escaping his lungs as he struck river. When he emerged a minute later on the sandbank, he was coughing, dripping, and enraged beyond measure. There was a fire in his heart and in his eyes, a flame so hot and bright that it threatened to burn them all alive. "Pippin!" He called, handsome face contorted into something ugly and bestial. "Find the foal! If you take her down, her parents will be forced to stop."
I'll deal with the rest, he thought, and barreled into the thick of the forest.

One thing was sure, Kiro was not liking these unicorns one bit. For a moment, he had thought that they would be interesting and perhaps held many precious items in their posession but this getting chased was beginning to annoy him. They seemed so stiffly law obiding and dead set on capturing the witch. The golden one he could tell was getting completely caught up in his obsession and rage, which the emotionless buckskin found to be a sign of weakness. It would only mess up any plans they had of trying to capture the little group he was in. The witch seemed to turn and Kiro had to stop using his gift a few moments after she had stopped, watching in awe as she lifted him and threw him into the river. He had seen it before, of course , during that incident by the great oak but it didn't cease to surprise him when BaYagu displayed the power of one of her many gifts. At her cry, he turned as fast as he could on his hind legs and darted after her. The yells of the leading unicorn were muffled by his senses being so focused on the direction he had to run. The chimera had said something along the lines of helping them, which was completely illogical of course or they wouldn't have approached them in this way. As hooves pounded after them he did not feel fear, but sheer adrenaline running through his body. It was just like whenever someone actually made it hard for him to get away after a theft... And he loved that game.
Then he realized what command the unicorn had given his accomplice, and his blood soared with disgust. For all the times others had turned a blind eye towards his father's abusive ways, he was not going to be one to stand by as a child gets hurt. He knew exactly what that was like and he wouldn't stand for it. He didn't care for the child, it wasn't his own and even if it was... However, it was a principle. One that was ingrained in his bitter heart and about the only principle he had left. Without giving it second thought, which was rare for him, he turned back straight towards the unicorn that had been told to go after the child. "Go!!" He bellowed over his shoulder at the others, his teeth baring in a clenched jaw snarl as he went to block the path of the chimera staring him down determinedly with a deep frown. "Forgive me for saying this," he said smoothly with a hint of sarcasm "but I thought such worshipped beings would be above injuring a helpless child. It seems I underestimated the sheer lack of morals your God complexed kind have".

Find the foal! If you take her down, her parents will be forced to stop. Godric felt his heart stop as he heard the last of the unicorns roar. He pumped his legs harder, tears in his eyes as he called out for her daughter. He prayed that she had ran north, in the direction the witch had called. Gods, he prayed with all his heart. Godric shook his head and continued to pump his legs hard. Soon, he heard the quick panting of Griffin, and heard her frantic hoof beats"Griffin! stop, it's daddy!" he called out.
Griffin whimpered as she moved thourgh the forest, every noise and shadow scaring her beyond her imagination. She had tears running down her face, and wished for her mommy to be here. She let out another whimper, and sniffled, slowing down "M-mommy..." she cried out, legs shaking as she continued to slow down. Then she heard loud hoof beats coming towards her, and shrieked, beginning to run again, until she heard her fathers voice "Daddy?" she whimpered, tears pooling in her eyes as her father came into view. She ran towards him, crying openly now.
Griffin felt relief surge through him as he finally came up to Griffin, and nuzzled her head as she ran to him. He closed his eyes "I-it's alright, princess. You're fine, mommy and daddy are fine" he said with a shaky voice. He lifted his head and looked at their surroundings, looking up to the sky "come on, we have to go find mommy" Godric gently nudged her, and began to run again, keeping Griffin close to his side. If they moved quick enough, they would hit the beach soon, and be able to spot the others along the sand. He had his daughter, now he had to find his mate.

Pippin breathed in and out slowly, trying to keep his careful concentration on the force field he had created. It was small - but powerful. He had been practicing lately - and he found he could make it appear and disappear rather rapidly. With enough speed his tiny force field looked like a large shield. Even if anyone figured out his trick - the young unicorn was more than adept at using his little deflector as more than just a defense mechanism. He stood fast as the other stallion charged him. The pale physique and dark eyes of the stranger made him feel rather unnerved. Paleness was a gift in the unicorn community as common as it was - but his dark eyes made the black horned unicorn feel he was much darker on the inside that he appeared on the out. His kind had always judged others on their appearances - and he was no exception.
"We're trying to help" Pippin commented, voice calm, eyes staring. He could tell that the mortal was agitated - but he hadn't the slightest idea how to deal with such fierce emotion and upset. He felt his own feelings sink, finding himself utterly irate that the other horse simply didn't understand. "Do you know who you're with?" He asked, eyes wide, force field beating to the rythem of his anxious heart. " Worshiped? We're hardly worshipped" though we should be, he added in his head. The mortals hadn't the slightest idea what was happening. "we're not here to hurt the child! We're here to save you from her" His eyes looked solemnly in the direction the witch had run. "You'd be a fool to follow her lies"
His ears flicked upward suddenly at Alistairs order and he winced. Stop her. Not hurt her - he kept it in his mind that he was not to cause any harm. But a question hung in his mind. Did he leave the wall's opening to give chase to the foal? Or did he force the others north - where they'd have more of an advangtage. He trembled at the decision. What was the probability. He rolled the numbers in his head. Was it better to stay or go?
