The witch's promise gave her some reassurance. She gently nuzzled Griffin's neck when the filly piped up with a question. A small smile showed. "Yes, an adventure," she nodded, "mommy and daddy promise to take you on many adventures after we leave this island." As the others began to pick up speed, moving ahead of the group, Beartooth lingered towards the back. She moved at a slow, lazy-ish trot, going only as fast as Griffin could keep up with. If they were going to be doing any running, she wanted the filly to save her energy for when it was most important.
Beartooth looked forward to finally getting off of the island. With Godric she had made plans to go to the Isle of Olde afterwards, for it seemed the safest compared to the other island. She wondered where the other Loners had gone to, the ones that had left the Crescent after the breaking of the seal. She reckoned they would have all dispersed elsewhere, going back their normal lives.
A cold gust of wind sent a shiver along her spine and blew her mane across her face. She snorted softly and tossed the hairs out of her vision.

Griffin's smile widened as her mum and the kind mare explained to her that they were going on an adventure. She was excited! She hadn't been anywhere else since she had been born, and was happy to explore new, fun places! She giggled softly as beartooth nuzzled her neck, and began to trot beside her, smiling happily with both ears pushed forward, glad to be moving and stretching her legs.
As the witch spoke, Godric nodded, and nudged Griffins head "yes, come on, princess. Time to move and find lots of new fun things do to. Ah, to be so innocent from the dangerous of the world. He wanted Griffin to stay like this for at least another few years, to have fun exploring the world, but not to be glancing over your shoulder ever two seconds. He loved his family with all his heart, and would was determined to get them off this god forsaken island. He moved along side beartooth, little Griffin between them and shielded from anything that may attack. His long strides let him easily keep up with his mate and daughter, and he moved with the make-shift herd.
"Daddy, where are we going for this adventure?" Griffin questioned, loolking up to her dad "well, first we're going to get off this island with the others," he explained "then, your mom and i decided that we're going to head to the island of olde. It's a very pretty place, and I'm sure you're going to love it" he smiled softly at her, glancing down.

The sooty buckskin stallion carried on trotting, only pausing briefly to look over his shoulder and see that the rest were finally coming. His like green gaze then travelled past them to the land behind, somewhat considering following his curiosity and head towards the unicorns. His eyes fell into a half lidded position though one eyebrow was raised as he paused again. The rest of the horses became vague blurs in his distant focus for a moment before he willed his feet to carry on. They would probably just continue running if he did go back, it was abundantly obvious that he wasn't any of their business and he preferred it that way. Though, he had to see them first to assess what he was up against, and then he would decide. Running at a medium pace he settled into an easy canter that was too relaxed for the situation they were in. Luckily though he had long strides and felt there was no difficulty in staying ahead of the group unless they started into a frantic gallop. Which, to be fair, they probably would soon. Especially with the child, who was a complete liability in getting away... Annoyance bubbled in his stomach a little bit as he thought of the unicorns harming a child. Holy or not, no one should lay a hoof on a child. Then numbness settled in again, why should he care about someone else's child? It's not like anyone ever did in his childhood... Everyone was rotten, selfish, conceited and fake when it came down to really needing help- Kiro had learnt that a long time ago.

Bayagu's feet felt heavy as they moved south, farther from home and closer to safety. She almost laughed at the thought, in her younger years she would have died a little - knowing she'd have to leave the great forest of giants a second time. Instead, she felt an anxiousness to get out of there - and leave the worries of the crescent behind. A small smile of hope creased on her lips as they moved out - but her force field flickered again, and she felt tired.
"Olde's a beautiful Island" she mussed as they walked. "The city can provide a good home for a growing family like yours.Lots of places to hide in, things to see You've been there haven't you Kiro? You could tell them" She glanced back at the small family. They would be happy there - because even the Olden herd didn't explore the true depths of the city - or the heights of the Ailin mountains. She hoped for their safety in the coming days. "Its safe too, the Olde horses may be... confused, but they have good intentions. They don't kill for the fun of it, You'll be safe"
As if by some cosmic irony - as the word safe eased from her lips - the force field completely flickered out. Bayagu Gasped. This time it wasn't coming back.
"Griffin? Do you like to race?" She smiled, but her eyes looked fearful darting between Beartooth and Godrick.

Enigma plodded along behind the other equines, that way his dead eye would not cause him to bounce off one of them while they were moving, and if it came to it and they all had to run, at least he would not slow anyone else down by being in the front. The Chimeric stallion knew he was not fast; the last race to the wall had driven that point home quite well, but he also knew that at least he could take a few knocks and a few dozen miles of traveling before he would need to truly rest… That is as long as there was no bog to trip him up… Enigma did manage to notice that he was not the only equine to deviate from the group; it seemed the lighter furred stallion had taken the lead.
As the journey truly started Enigma could not help but catch snatches of the conversation ahead of him. It seemed the family wanted to take an adventure too the Olde Isle, and Enigma was about to open his mouth to utter a warning about the terrors of the Olde herd but Ba’Yagu beat him to the hoof by saying that it was a beautiful Island. Enigma couldn’t help but mutter “The isle is nice it’s the residents that will kill you.” Then he overheard her saying that they didn’t kill for fun and that they would be safe. At that moment, before the words of protest and a good counter point could even hope to form in Enigma’s mind the shimmering force fields fell without a sound. Then came the words Enigma had been Dreading. “…Do you like to race?"

Godric shifted his gaze ahead to the witch as she told them of the island, nodding at her words of encouragement "What you have said are the exact reasons we are going there," he said, offering her a smile, and nodding in agreement. He looked down to Griffin, and smiled at her "she'll have plenty of room to grow". Griffin smiled happily, looking from her parents to the witch, and the other horses around them. Godric turned his blue gaze to Kiro "How are your experiences on the isle of olde?" he asked the stallion, curious to how the thief felt about it, and it's residents. He knew he didn't want to stay around the olde herd, and that they would find a safe spot away from them to teach Griffin, and help her grow.
Godric was about to speak again when he felt the last vibration of the field go out, the ambient noises around them seeming to stop dead. He licked his lips, and looked to the witch, seeing the fear in her eyes. He nodded once, and looked to Griffin "I love to race! I've been practicing too!" she grinned, oblivious to the situation. Godric gulped quietly "Well, Griffin, it's time to put that practice to use!" he said in a light tone, beginning to pick up his pace. Griffin grinned, and began to move faster too "where are we racing to?" she asked curiously. Godric looked to make that Beartooth was picking up the pace before answering her question "the beach, princess. Then we have to cross a big bridge of land that connects the islands," Griffin's eyes widened as she tried to picture such a thing "but first we have to run really fast to get there." Griffin nodded, grinning as the rest of the group began to run.

Talking about the Isle of Olde somewhat distracted Beartooth from her worries of the predicament they were in. "It certainly is a beautiful island," she agreed with the witch, "I grew up on the island."
And then the force field suddenly gave out.
Beartooth felt her stomach twist, her ears flattening. The witch had been able to bring it back when it had gone out previously, but the fear in the witch's eyes indicated that would not be happening this time. She looked down at Griffin, feeling almost thankful for her naiveness in the situation. She laughed a little to try and surprise her own fear. "A race will be fun," she said as she transitioned from her lazy trot and pushed herself into a canter. "I'll race you to the beach, Griff. If you can beat mommy then I can promise a special treat for you, okay?" she smiled. She kept a watchful eye on Griffin as the group moved, trying to keep the youngling somewhat shielded between herself and Godric. The beach was not terribly far from what she remembered, but with all the anxiety and worry and everyone being so on edge, it seemed to take longer than it actually was.

Ba'Yagu hadn't cantered this fast in a long time, and the wind on her face sent an icy chill down her back. This running was nothing like the fun running, it was stiff and robotic and terrifying. It was nothing like the long nights she had spent with eve under the stars - racing away into the night. She missed the mare's smile - and a warmness filled her chest as eve's face showed in her mind. Eve would want her to run, and Eve would want the mortals safe. Bayagu closed her eyes for a minute- imagining the mare's hoof beats sounding beside her.
And then the mortal's voices hit her - and she was brought back to the dim reality that she had landed them in. The darkness of night had fallen so much faster than she had anticipated and the moon was high in the sky. She frowned. She hoped the filly would be able to keep up through the night. It would be hours before they reached the beach.
"We don't stop till we hit the beach" She breathed, her senses tingling, her eyes staring towards beartooth as she ran - upturned and full of fret. They couldn;t know the true danger they were in - as he sixth sense alerted her to the presence of other beings. Were they animals or unicorns? She didn't know.

Beartooth looked over her shoulder at the witch, seeing the worry in her eyes. The pressure the witch must be feeling...she could not imagine handling it.
No stops until the beach? She didn't know if Griffin would be able to keep up with that, and even if she could, she would likely be dead tired and unable to get across the land bridge without being carried somehow. She frowned and then looked to her filly. The filly had never run such distances in her short three months of life. Due to the influence of breeds in her own lineage, Beartooth had a good deal of stamina, but speed was not really in her favor.
"You're doing great, Griff," Beartooth encouraged Griffin, forcing a smile on her face.
In her mind she thought about the moments of first arriving on the Crescent, how they had come to the island for refuge, how scary yet exciting it was when they all set out to explore into the unknown regions of the place. If there had been any good things that came out of being on the island, it was the birth of her firstborn and receiving her gift from the witch.

The air felt Icy to the stallion as he stood, still and unmoving in the stream. The water wrapped around his legs and circulated past him endlessly - and he shifted his gaze the the unicorns standing next to him, their eyes bright and almost glowing in the moonlight. The young unicorn's expression was as unmoving as his legs in the water. His thoughts meandered over the conversation that had passed between Xavier and him earlier in the night. They hadn't said much, and he was appreciative of that. They had only agreed on one thing... the mortals were dangerous, and unknown.
The sudden pounding of hooves sounded over the ground. His frown deepened and he looked with a raised brow at Alistair. Was it time for them to move? He wondered if he'd ever be completely ready for the moment ahead of him. It was as terrifying as it was exciting - a real chance to use his gift - a chance to have a purpose for the herd that he had served for so long. He shivered under the breeze.

Enigma’s long legs kept pace with the rest of the group but still he kept to the rear of the small herd of equines, careful to not gain on or bounce off of any of the other horses around him. The last thing Enigma wanted was to trip up any of his fellow Loner’s. Even at a cantor a trip and fall could be disastrous, not only could it lead to injury, it could also lead to the whole group having to slow down because of his mistake.
The night air was bitter cold across the tri-colored stallion’s flanks and chest. His nostrils flared with each paced breath as his large hooves ripped up tufts of grass and debris from the forest floor. Enigma’s head was tilted slightly to the left to compensate for his bad eye, even at this pace the large stallion had to struggle to keep from tripping on exposed roots or fallen branches from the ancient sentinels all around them. Upon the wind danced the scent of fresh water lofted just below the scent of forest and the biting scent of a chill that was ever in the air while they all were upon this isle. Enigma's mind was fully occupied by the task of moving when a thought struck him that with them all at a cantor like this it might be a good idea for the lead horse to watch out for any ambushes; after all they were being hunted as Ba'Yagu had said.
"Everyone watch your steps ahead I think I smell water somewhere around here." Enigma’s deep voice resounded around him and flew out through the regal trees to disappear into the darkness.

Only having a moment to look briefly at Ba'Yagu as she called his name, he was approached by one of the stallions with him asking him of Olde. His mind wandered to the many times he had visited there and it caused him to pause momentarily "Well-" he was about to reply when some of the horses darted into a gallop and Kiro's eyes flashed between the facial expressions of the group, flicking to the witch last. This is when he realized there was no time for talking now. "I will give you an answer when we reach the beach, sir" he bowed his head courteously towards the other before starting out into a sprint. His hooves thundered over the ground as he kept looking over his shoulder during the run, not being able to hold back his curiosity. He was luckily aware enough of his surroundings to not collide with any rocks or trees as he did so. Somehow, his eyes also occasionally flicked over the little filly that was with the group and a tinge of something foreign touched him. Empathy? No, that wasn't possible... He wasn't capable of such things, not even with his own children. He shrugged it off in his mind, perhaps some primal instinct to protect small fragile things was uselessly trying to invade his mind. Not that he would allow it to overcome him, but it was a cute attempt at his soul trying to restore missing emotions. He wanted none of it.

Alistair was a mirror image of his chimeric companion, standing statuesque and silent on the riverbank, ears swiveling as his breath escaped in puffs of mist. They had been searching for what felt like hours, and the golden stallion was growing impatient. The witch was out there... somewhere, but they'd found neither hide nor hair from her traitorous coat. He hadn't expected it to be easy, but by King Valraldic's horns, he'd expected it to go quicker than this. For all Ba'Yagu's slippery ways, the outcast was still traveling alongside graceless mortals, whom he knew from experience could not be quiet to save their miserable lives...
As if on cue, the sound of hooves crashing through the brush caught his ear, followed by voices he did not know. Alistair looked to his companions with raised brows, and without speaking, jerked his chin towards the ruckus. We have them, his eyes said, glittering with triumph. And then he was gone, his gift carrying him away down the river bank. He was glad for the sandbar, and happier yet for his training, allowing him to move with relatively little sound. Between his discretion and the noise of their own hooves, the mortals wouldn't know they were in danger until it was right on top of them.
He met them just as they broke free of the treeline, placing his body directly in their path. With the Wall at his back and the mortals at his front, the Overseer had effectively cut off their escape. He smiled as he watched their expressions process the severity of their situation, but then his eyes met the milky blue of the witch, and his muzzle became a bloodless snarl.
"Ba'Yagu!" He roared, taking a step forward, his tail lashing in unadulterated fury.

The wall was in sight and hope swelled in her breasts. A small smile showed on her face - but just as quickly as it appeared, it was ripped from her face. Her jaw dropped. In front them stood a unicorn with set of ram like horns and a golden pelt.
Beartooth skidded to a halt. She nearly bumped into the witch. Staring wide eyed at the golden unicorn. She blinked in disbelief and shook her head. Her heart was beating fast, legs shaking. The unicorn's roar brought her out of her frozen in place state. She quickly shoved Griffin behind herself, pushing the filly away from the unicorn and moving behind the witch. She motioned for Godric to do the same so that they could shield the filly from the unicorns.
The hope she had had not even a minute ago was now replaced with fear and panic. What were they going to do now? She looked at the witch, wondering what they should do. It was possible that they could make it to the wall if they all took off towards its. The group of unicorns outnumbered the unicorns, but even then, the unicorns were quite powerful with their magic.
