Whoops...I put this in the wrong thread, so I'll copy and paste the Rp here. My bad.
RP between ValiantShadow's Grange and Catac0rny's Greer.
Setting: Western edge of the Summer Fields.
Objective: Spar to see who will fight in the upcoming war.
The day was still overcast as Grange processed Cain's announcement. They were going to war with the Olde herd. Shaking his head, the small stallion wondered how things had gotten like this. Sure, even he hated that the Olde herd was becoming a threat to his home, but unlike most horses he wasn't all gung-ho to start fighting. He needed a better reason than loyalty; he had no loyalty co Cain, especially after the crazy nut dragged him into the mountains as punishment and nearly killed him, as well as Tauriel, Ace, Kyanos and little Melia. As the day progressed, Grange grew even more dissatisfied with the announcement; by the time he'd gotten over his chock about the announcement of war, there was only one horse left for him to spar with. Greer. His mate's mistress. Damn.
Grange's muscles were taut as he slowly jogged towards the western edge of the field, his ears flicking this way and that as he searched for any sign of Greer. It looked like he'd beaten the mare there by a minute or two, so he slowed to a stop and cocked one rear hoof, waiting. He didn't want to be here. He had no desire to face off against his herdmates to practice for a fight he had no reason to be in. But, there were one or two advantages. He hadn't been placed in a fight with, say, Levi or Ghost, both of whom were enormous and had something against Grange. And he had been pitted against Greer. As much as he hated to admit it, Grange was a tiny bit glad that he would get a chance to fight the mare. His disappointment was torn half between Cethin and half between Greer. At least he could take out his feelings on her.

Greer ambled to where grange stood, stoic against the wind. Her stomach was in a knot and she felt very queasy. After all, this was grange. She wasn't only competing against him for a spot to fight in the war, she was also fighting him for Cethin. She narrowed her eyes, saying no words as she faced the larger stallion. The wind blew her mane in all directions, like a tornado of hair. Her skin was cold to the touch but right now, she felt nothing except frustration. She nodded, commencing her ready-ness. She rose up on her hind hooves, half rearing. She was ready to show him what she was really made of.

He didn't expect to enjoy this so much. It made him sick to think that he wanted this. That even the smallest part of him wanted to hurt her. Not damage her permanently, no, but to show her that he meant business. With an angry stallion squeal, he rose onto his haunches, flailing his front hooves out in a show of prowess and dominance. His ears flattened to his head instinctively, and his short, curly tail lashed, caught by the wind. He dropped to all fours again, watching, waiting. They were too far apart still for either one to strike; one of them was going to make the first move. As much as he wanted it, Grange knew it would frustrate the mare more if she were forced to commence the battle. As ready as she looked, he knew she must feel at least some of the same frustration and hatred for the underlying subtext of this battle that he did. He would make her show it.

Greer launched at Grange, shoving off her haunches, ramming into him. She clamped down on his crest, hard enough to draw blood but not to do significant damage. She released, and dodged away from him, using her smaller, 15.2 stance to dart past him and around and circling clock wise and then counter clockwise, confusing him. She smirked, using her wits in an attempt to out smart him.

Grange felt her teeth lock onto the fatty skin of his crest, and he felt her release to dart out of range. With a snort, her turned on his hindquarters and lunged at her, feeling his teeth graze her shoulder. He was agile due to his small size, and a formidable tactician when necessary. He was certainly not going to make this an easy fight. He tried to spring away, noticing how quickly the small mare moved.

When she got to Grange's backside she snapped, her teeth locking onto his tail, and pulling with all her might before releasing and turning to run. Before racing around, she let out a buck and kicked his side, hard. This was fun. She laughed out loud, her mad cackle filling the cold air. She had barely broken a sweat and she wasnt even panting. She had been fighting like this her entire life. On the run, dodging enemys, winning.

Grange galloped after her, his mane and tail whipped back by the wind and his own speed as he chased her. Stretching out his neck, he grabbed a portion of her mane, yanking as hard as he could. Releasing the mouthful of hair, he sprung away, throwing up clods of dirt as he turned, waiting to see which way the mare would dart next, hoping to cut her off and battle head on again.

Greer felt a tug of mane and then watched her black hair fall to the ground. She squinted at him, now facing him, still. Just standing. First her tail, now a lock of mane. Oh hell no. She galloped toward him, plowing into his chest like an ox. His hooves slid back, unearthing grass and dirt as she shoved him backward. She reared up, hitting his sholder with her sharp, black hooves. She let out a shrieking whinny, that hurt her own ears. Her hooves landed heavily onto the dirt, making the pebbled around them rumble, shaking in fear of her angered presence.

He could feel her hooves pelting against his shoulder, and they stung. Grange was almost squatting now, trying to keep the mare from pushing him any farther down the field. With his ears still ringing from her cry, the champagne stallion snorted and reared up, lashing out at the mare's neck and shoulders. He felt at least one of his blows hit, but he was too distracted by his sudden and intense desire to win to notice how many actually glanced off of her hide.

Greer winced as his hoof sliced through her skin. A crowd was begining to gather now, too distracted by their intense battling to continue their own. She dug into his should with her teeth before releasing, only to clamp down on his ear, ripping off the teeth. She heard shouting from the other horses.
"Stop them!" "Their gonna kill eachother!"
The voices called, but they weren't stopping for the world. Her shoulder felt battered, but she kept kicking, landing a hard wack on his neck and one on the knee of his front left leg.

Grange squealed as he felt the tender skin of his ear tear. She had bitten part of it off! With a roar of anger, he lashed out at the mare, aiming for her face. She had gone too far now. This was no longer friendly sparring; it was war. Vaguely, he heard the voices of his heardmates in the background, but Grange paid little attention to them. He barely noticed anything except the pain when Greer landed a blow, and the surge of pride when he returned one.

Greer tumbled to the ground, wailing out in fake pain. She had done this before. She felt her own fake tears drip down her face. Her skin was sweaty and dripping with blood of her own and granges.
"Stop stop! you win ok!?" She said, laying on the ground panting loudly. She looked very convincing.

The stallion pulled himself up, his sides heaving as he panted, his ears still back, one leaving a messy trail of blood down his neck. His blue eyes regarded Greer with a mixture of pride and tiredness. Now that he felt the battle was over, he was returning to his usual, calm manner. The bloodlust was ebbing for now.

Greer stood up, panting still. She glanced at Grange, a smile forming on her lips before she pounced once more, knocking him clean off his hooves and into the mud she'd dug up by pushing him. She gave him a good, hard kick in the ribs, before bending down to whisper in his ear and pinning him with a hoof on his throat.
"I win." She said slyly, before letting him up and trotting away, leaving him behind her. She picked up into a gallop then, making her way to a pool of water where she cleaned herself of the blood. When she finished she began grazing as if nothing had happened.

Grange picked himself up, shaking off as much of the mud as he could. Painfully, he trotted after the mare, not quite finished yet. True, he was too exhausted to keep fighting, but that didn't mean he was finished playing mind games with her. When he found the mare, he stopped before her, still streaked in mud and blood.
"You really think trickery is the way to go through life?" His blue-eyed gaze was stern and hard. "Tsk. Even the Bachelors look down on that. You may be reviled as a hero for winning, but make no mistake, they don't like a rat."
He paused, then spoke again. "Is that how you got Cethin to think you were anything special? Did you trick him too? Because, for the life of me, I can't see what's so great about you." With this, he turned and flicked his tail, stalking away quietly.
