Greer didnt chase him, rather she stood still, legs braced apart, ready for him to charge her like a bull. She imagined herself with a red flag, waving it, luring a horned beast toward her only to jerk out of the way in the knick of time.
"Hey bull!" She called. "Come get me!" She said, standing out in the open where he could easily charge her. But greer had a trick up her sleeve.

Grange chuckled, circling her at a slow trot. "If you think that'll work on me, you must have me confused with one of those brutish guards," he taunted, flicking his tail as he watched her. His ears--what was left of them--pricked towards her, his attention on her as he tried to determine what the mare was going to do now.

Greer moved quickly, rolling onto her haunches and pushing off, she reached the bridge of his nose between her teeth and pulled it at a right angle but gently. When she realeased she chuckled.
"I could have just snapped you neck." She said, a menacing smile dancing across her lips. "Good thing i didnt though huh? there is some ounce of trust in that."

"Nice move," Grange congratulated her, giving her the tiniest of smiles. "I'll have to remember that," he added, dipping his head to her. "And I suppose it's good that we haven't tried too hard to murder each other out here; I doubt Cain would look favorably if two of his soldiers spent more time attacking each other than the other herds," he said with a wry smile.

Greer nodded, giving a small laugh. "Well we can always dream cant we?" She said, before delivering another unique (to say the least) move. She darted around to his left flank, picking his crest up between her teeth and tugging backward hard, lifting his front hooves.
"If i had tugged harder, i could have flipped you onto your back." She said after releasing him.

"Where did you learn to fight like this?" Grange asked, dropping back onto all fours. He thought it strange that a mare like herself had so much experience on the battlefield; the way he was raised, this was an oddity all the way around.

(you skipped a post) Greer rolled her eyes. It was like a bachelor stallion to underestimate a mares fighting skills.
"Ive been alone since i was 14. I learned to survive and trade for what i needed to learn in order to live." She said, not sugar coating the truth.

He nodded, taking in her words. "I see," was his only comment. It surprised him that the mare had survived so well on her own, and he came from a herd where survival was the key to life. She seemed so small and delicate, but below that was a steely strength. "So, do you have any more moves to show me?" he asked suddenly.

Greer shook her head. "I have one...but you have to be small like me to make it work. Smaller then me is best really. But...i guess i can show you." She said, smirking. She circled him like a cat stalking its prey, before falling to her knees and litterally barrel rolling so she was on her back underneeth him, where she nipped at his chest and gave him a good kick in the groin.
"Not great if your fighting a mare but fantastic if its a large male." She said, smirking as she rolled out. "Bad position for stomping though, you gotta be fast."

That's a neat trick," Grange said, internalizing the move for future reference; he was rather small for a stallion, and he was quite fast, which made him a perfect candidate for tactics such as this. Any stallion he came up against was in for a shock.

Greer laughed, sweaty and tired.
"How about we go down to that stream for a rest?" She asked, already walking in its direction.

Grange nodded, realizing how thirsty he was. They could continue training later, but for right now, he needed a break. Slowly, he wandered down towards the creek, wading into the water to cool off.

Greer layed down at the waters edge soaking half her body in the cool pool.
"Sorry for being so rude. You wouldnt beleive whats happened these past few weeks. I wish i was born a stallion..its so much easier for yall. Dont have to deal with this kind of shit..." She mumbled.

"It's not as easy as you think," Grange replied, stretching out in the water. "At least, if anyone in the herd saw you with Cethin, it wouldn't mean risking your life," he replied, a hint of bitterness in his tone.

"true." She said casually. Being any gender was hard, heck, being anyone in this day and age was hard. They all had to face the music at one point or another.
"i am sorry...i really do wish i never met cethin. I hope i dont get in the way of you two. I just need you to know that this is happening and you cant avoid it." She said, rising to her hooves. "Lets go train some more."
