Ryder grazed a little distance away. The sun had just risen, casting bright pinks and oranges across the sky as the moon and stars were washed out by the sun. His ears perked forward as he heard Greer waking up. She trotted over, and the brown stallion gave her a nod of greeting. "Good to see that you're better," he said with a smile as he picked his head up from the grass. "Just make sure you don't eat too many. It could upset your stomach if you haven't eaten," he mentioned with a nod toward her stomach. "And too many might not be good for the foal if you are pregnant." It worried him a bit that she was taking so many herbs. He had never given so many to a mare who was possibly with foal, but he imagined it wouldn't do good for a developing horse.

"Can you stop talking about my pregnancy?!" She snapped loudly, causing the other horses to lift their heads and turn. A blush rose to her cheeks, and she looked down at the ground.
"Sorry." She mumbled, munching on the drying grass hungrily.

Ryder's ears flattened a bit before nodding. "Sorry, I won't mention it again," he said, taking a few more bites of grass. He would have to trust that she would know what exactly to do and not to do. He knew it was a hard subject for her to think about, but it would have to be sooner or later.
"So Greer? What island were you born on? It must be pretty cool being a loner since you can travel the islands pretty freely," he said with a curious expression. He understood if she didn't want to answer, but he wanted to fill the silence with something.

"Bachelor, in riddle." Greer stated, seing no reason to lie. "What about you, southern isle boy?" She asked curiously. "Southern isle always was my favorite. Horses much friendlier. Shame what happened though, seeing as they were cursed from the begining. I was nosing around the bach herd and i spotted that mare Cael. She looks angry." Greer said, cockiung an eyebrow.

Ryder nodded at the mare's words. It must have been hard to grow up in the mountains, but he supposed that's why she acted the way she did. "I was born on the Southern island. It's my favorite as well. Hopefully, the Exiles can return there soon," he said with a frown. It was still hard to think that their home had been burnt to a crisp in a matter of hours, leaving nothing for them to live on. At the mention of Cael, Ryder snorted. "I bet she is. The Bachelors took her from us as a part of the deal our captain made with them." He said with a flick of his tail. The deal still flustered him. It could have been prevented.

Greer frowned bitterly.
"I doubt yall would make it three weeks in that desolate place. There is nothing to eat and all the waters dried up...you wouldnt make it." She said, shaking her head.

Ryder snorted, taking a bite of the grass with a shake of his head. "I know. I meant after the grass grows back. I hope that grows quickly, so we can get out of this hellish situation," he said with a flick of his tail. The Bachelors were starting to get on everyone's nerves, and their deal wasn't making things any better. "I think we all want to go home once we are able to survive there."

"That is," Greer commented "If yall even survive the war." She scoffed, folding her legs beneath herself and munching on some grass. "I mean, king Vasska is proposing a rediculous deal or so i heard on the grape vine and lord knows most of you foolish horses are too stubborn or stupid to join the 'barbaric' bachelor horses."

Ryder snorted at the mare's words. This mare certainly had a way with words. "It's not stupidity that keeps some of us from joining ranks with those brutes. Everyone wants to see the fall of the Bachelor herd, and if they think Vasska can do so, they will wide with him. Vasska's deal is too ridiculous for me though. It's preposterous to even think about," he said with a shake of his head as he looked up the hill. Leif and Effie were playing some sort of game. Ryder wanted so badly to keep them safe, to keep everyone he loved safe. However, a war was brewing quickly, and he wasn't certain he could keep them all safe. There were definitely tough days a head, and he could only hope those he loved could fend for themselves. Exiles were strong, but were they strong enough to fight a war that wasn't even theirs to fight?

Greer shook her head. "That deal is just...horrific. War isnt about coming out clean its about fighting what you beleive in no matter what happens to material possesions or bodies. Obviously the king is off his rocker and needs a lie down. i swear...ill kill him if i get the chance. He will drive this species into the ground he will ruin Chevalin. At least Cain is civil. That brute before him...cant quite remember his name...he was the real savage. He had a sworm of his stallions run me off once, just because i was delivering an inter herd message. Cain is much more civil in fact ive met him once before in a strange turn of events and he was actually quite handsome and kind." Greer said with a smirk, shaking her head at her own blabbering mouth.

Ryder nodded. It was very ridiculous to even think that Vasska thought that they could win a war without a scratch, but he supposed that was why the Olde horse had decided on that. "He probably made that awful deal to make sure none of the Exiles make it into his herd. There is no possible way that you can fight a war without being wounded in some way." As Greer continued speaking, Ryder chuckled. "Well I'm not sure that I exactly like him, but I can agree that he is at least polite while he talks to you like a foal. He's a heck of a lot better than Vasska. That's for sure."
