Kyanos half-listened in to the conversations behind him, while the other half continued scanning for danger. He listened for hooves, rats, voices, or anything else that might sound like trouble. So far though, everything seemed generally safe. Things were going well in his mind, compared to what he had expected from the group that he had with him, especially with having the pintaloosa here with him. Thankfully there had been no attempted escapes... yet. He should have known not to think such a thing though. It was just like fate to prove him wrong and laugh in his face. Just as they were nearing the church, a set of hooves behind him was slowing down. Immediately he turned one ear back towards the mares, paying close attention. The voices had quieted. It was like all of the sudden they had decided to rebuke him for his thoughts. Of course. Now they decide to run. He thought to himself, hauling when he heard that set of hooves stop all together. Not on my watch. He thought to himself, lifting his head and tilting it as if to check on them through the side of his eye, though his peripheral vision was all but shot by now. That was fine, he could hear fine enough.
And then she started to back up. She's going to dart. Any minute now, he could feel it. He could practically hear her heartbeat speed up at the anticipation of the run, feel her muscles tensing underneath herself, ready to take her flying over the unknown land of this broken down city. "We are all safest together." He stated, his tone stern but not angered... yet. It was more meant as a warning at the moment. Kyanos craned his neck around to look back at the mares, his cloudy gaze set on the figure of the farthest mare. Really he was trying the best he could to use his words to convince her not to run. He didn't know what he would do were she to take off anyways. Before his sight had faded so much, speed had been his strongest attribute, but without being able to see the obstacles in his way, running wasn't so easy for him any more. In a crumbling down city like this, it would be far too easy for him to be badly injured, and then he would do no good protecting the rest of the mares. In other words, if she ran, he wouldn't be able to follow her... he'd have to let her go, and he hated to do this. "I suggest you think twice before trying anything, mare." His tone was still firm, but calm all the same. It was more that of a father correcting his child than a leader beating down another herd-member. "There is a time to escape, and now is not that time." He added in, almost as if he were encouraging her. As far as he saw it, he hated to see the spirits of mares crushed under the rule of the bachelors and he would rather they all escape could they... just not under his watch.

Trotting ahead of the group and going up the stairs to the large, wide open church doors, Iscah was just about to step in before she suddenly stopped and turned around. She didn't share the same worry and fear the other broods had being in the city, but with their negative vibes constantly bouncing around, she couldn't help but to pick up on it a little. She eyed Evalynn, seeing the mare tense and flick her tail. "Ladies, I can assure you that if you get inside this building you will be quite safe," she spoke, eyes scanning over the group. She turned herself around and took a small step inside the entrance, and then another. "See?" she said to them over her shoulder, "now come in, let's get cozy."
Iscah smiled to herself as she walked into the old church. She looked around curiously. There was some weird pictures depicting humans, though they were definitely not the best conditions. To her right was a hall and stairway that lead up and to her left was another stairway which lead down. She continued forward to another set of large doors. "Are you guys coming in or what?" she paused to look back again.

{ Akira }
As fate would have it, however, it was almost like their group leader...Kyanos...had read her mind. For only having half the vision he used to, Akira had to give him points for being as astute as he was. Then again, he'd probably been doing this a long time. He most likely had the intuition of when a mare was going to bolt. Yet, he hadn't made a move on her yet...most bachelor stallions at even the slightest scent of an escape would have been on her in an instant, hoof to neck. Studying his body language, she also was surprised to see how calm he was, almost complacent aside from his quite serious tone.
He couldn't come after her...no...between the cloudiness in his eyes and the three other mares under his watch, there was no way he would leave them unprotected or rather unguarded. It was better one got away rather then leave them all vulnerable to attack or escapee thoughts of their own. Breathing heavily, she narrowed her gaze toward her 'leader', ears flattened and teeth slightly bared.
"Safe...? What do you know about being 'safe'? Huh?! I was FINE before you brutes ruined what little family connection I had left. She was my sister...and because of you, I had to drive her away! AGAIN! In order to keep her safe... I don't NEED protection or bodyguards...especially rats like you bachelors," she spat, voice raised to a grating furious pitch. All that anger...the fear...and anguish that had been building up inside had decided to burst. There was no stopping it now. "YOU MONSTERS KILLED MY MOTHER!" she finally sobbed in an explosion of tears.
"Where were you bachelors when my uncle bled to death from the gash in his face? Oh that's right, you were standing there...WATCHING him! He was too little, too frail to survive and your lead stallion knew it! HE KNEW IT, but he did it anyway! And you call that 'safe'?!" she shouted, the hot, salty tears continuing spill over, "Fathers are supposed to love their children...to keep them 'safe' but do you know where mine was? NO WHERE. After my mother escaped, he only tracked her for three days before realizing she wasn't worth his time. I know that he knew she had survived and gave birth to me, but he didn't give a crap! He could care less about his daughter, we were only PROPERTY lost to him. Easily replaced. All those days I spent sneaking around the herd as a little filly...breaking the loner code...trying to find him...to catch a glimpse of my own flesh and blood...my FATHER...it was all in vain. He never loved me OR my mother. So forgive me for assuming you could care less about my 'safety'."
The pale buckskin's knees wobbled at the sudden outburst and her chocolate brown eyes were ablaze with all these pent up emotions, glaring at him from between strands of her raven colored forelock. However...if you looked close enough...you could see it was just a mask. A cover up for the pain that was eating her up inside. Pausing to catch her breath, she couldn't help but take in his next words. Oddly enough, they seemed...almost sympathetic...not something she would expect from a bachelor. Shivering, soaked from head to toe from the mist, and now exhausted, she stood there in this stare down for quite a few minutes.
"There is a time to escape, and now is not that time.."
Her eyes widened slightly at this, some of her anger fading if only slightly, revealing the fear that was strangling her at her very core. It was fear that drove her to be this way. This was her chance...so why did her legs seem to be stuck in quicksand? Perhaps it was because she knew the dangers that lay within the city's dilapidated walls...the creatures of the dark that would do anything to sink their fangs into equine flesh. As much as she hated to admit it...she did need a protector...but how could she trust one of them? "How do I know...you're really here...to protect us? As mares...as precious equine lives...not property," she heaved softly, voice quivering as the strength left her vocal chords.

Mercedes watched Iscah trot ahead, a warm look in her eyes. She was glad to see at least someone in the group had a positive outlook. Kyanos' sudden firm voice made her glance back, looking at the shy mare that took her place in the back. Was she trying to escape now? Bad timing. She shook her head, turning to follow Iscah when Akira's outburst made her whinny in surprise. That anger sounded awfully familiar. Robin used to have bouts of anger like this, and only Mercedes could calm her down. The small mare wheeled around and trotted over to the former loner, sympathy clear in her blue eyes. "Akira, please, I understand you are angry with the Bachelors. I am very sorry that you have such anger towards them." Mercedes stepped closer, gently touching her muzzle to Akira's neck, trying to comfort the poor mare. She lowered her voice further, her ears flicking back to listen to Kyanos if he made any move towards them. "Trust me, this is not the time to run," Mercedes sighed heavily, stepping closer to the buckskin mare. "If we ever get the chance, I will aid you in your escape, I promise this." The pony mare held a small smile as she gaze up at Akira, hoping the upset brood would believe her.
Akira's broken voice made her heart ache, and she wished she could do further to soothe the mare. As for her question, that was for Kyanos to answer. Mercedes turned so she was alongside the buckskin, nudging her shoulder gently. "Come, walk with me dear." She started to walk forward towards the church entrance, hoping Akira would follow quietly.

"I was FINE before you brutes ruined what little family connection I had left."
Selfish brood! He thought, malice filling every syllable as he ground his teeth together to keep from saying those very words out loud. Here she was complaining - far louder than was necessary - about her life as if she was the only one who had any problems. Did she truly believe she was the only mare who's life had been ruined by the Bachelors? Fool! So many other mares had their lives torn away from them by these same horses and she thought she had the right to complain about her own sob story? And what about the others? Here she was complaining about her uncle who had been killed by the scarring. Did she not SEE the X on his own head? Did she not think about those who were maimed by their own sire who didn't even care that it might kill them? Did she not think about those who were taken away from their mother early on to be thrown into intensive training and turned into a robot? Did she not think about those who had to watch their own mother be dominated and beat down by their own herd-mates? Did she not think about those who's mother took her own life to escape the life fate had dealt her? Did she not think about those who were forced to become the very things they hated the most? DID SHE NOT THINK?!
Kyanos' whole body now quivered. Every inch of it was filled with rage and hatred. He was not so much angry because of what she said of the herd. He knew that every word of hers was true, and perhaps then-some. What hurt him so much - stabbing and then continuously throwing poison into the wound - was the way she continued to include him as one of them. He hated them with every ounce of life within him, but you never once heard him complaining. He sucked it up and lived the life that had been given to him. Lingering on it would only make him hate his life all the more, making it impossible to bear to continue living it. In his mind, this mare needed to do the same thing. Suck it up buttercup. He thought spitefully, a storm raging in his eyes. Every nerve in his body was ready to explode, ready to lash out and give the mare a lesson to remember. The stallion he hated so much - the stallion he pretended to be - would have knocked her to the ground and beat her within an inch of her life right then and there... but he didn't, and perhaps for only one reason...
The small light-colored mare who had just moments before run to his side now rushed to the flustered mare. Worry and concern filled her gentle tone as she tried to reassure her. Her voice was kind and sweet. Just the sound of it calmed even Kyanos as he stood with his hooves glued to the ground on which they stood. Slowly the rage inside him subsided and he was able to bring himself back - to take control once more. He let out a quiet, shaken sigh as the last of his anger was forced out with his breath. Now was not the time to lose his control, just as it was not the time to run. His single ear flicked forward to catch the quite whispers of the smaller mare, but he made no move to address her offer to aid in escape. As long as it wasn't on his watch, he could care less. Then came the quiet, almost timid words from the buckskin, a huge difference from the previous screams.
"How do I know...you're really here...to protect us? As mares...as precious equine lives...not property."
He was silent for a moment. If only she knew, if only she could understand how much he hated to see the mares - the precious equine lives - driven to their knees until they felt they had no way out but to end their own lives. If only she could understand his own hatred for this herd and what it did... but she couldn't. No one could. His true feelings could never come out, not for anyone. To let them escape would be to risk his life, and he wasn't willing to do so. "You can't." He finally replied, his voice cold and sharp, like ice stones falling down to pelt everyone that heard.
And with those last words Kyanos switched back to mission mode. Abruptly he turned and began back toward the church. "We need to go, now." He emphasized the word "now" with such ferocity it sounded like it came from a completely different horse. "If anyone was around they will surely have heard us." He refrained from saying "heard you", deciding he shouldn't light any more flames under the buckskin's hooves. "It's time we withdraw out of sight." Those were his last words before marching into the open doors of the church and then pushing his weight into the second set of large closed doors, opening them up to reveal a huge auditorium. By now many of the wooden pews had rotted away, but the room was plenty large enough for their small group of horses to fit comfortably with room to move around. Not only that but the only windows were up high, forbidding anyone from looking in and spying on them. Two exits in the back that had once been marked clearly with fancy signs were a perfect back-up escape root in case they were to be ambushed... not that he planned to let that happen. In here, where sight from the outside world was limited, he had the upper hand against any such thing. Perfect.

{ Akira }
Simply watching the muscles twitch in Kyanos's face began draining the color from Akira's face. There. She'd done it again. Her temper had gotten a hold of her...just like with Jaxon...and she could see the imminent explosion welling up within him, just waiting to happen with every tick of the invisible clock. Curling her front legs a bit beneath her, Akira's shoulders sunk somewhat submissively, her chocolate eyes wide with terror as she stared into his furious eyes then quickly clenching shut as she braced herself for the first blow. Maybe...this is what she deserved...maybe it was just time to get it over with already... Yet, for some odd reason the attack never came. She stood there, trembling in the grey mist for several moments, her ears ringing from the anxiety of the moment. Then softly...something penetrated the muffled ambiance...a quiet whinny....then a clatter of tiny hooves on the cracked stone growing closer..
Gasping softly, Akira's whole body shuddered at the sudden gentle caress of an unusually soft muzzle against her neck. Little by little, her eyes fluttered open then glanced to the side only to see... The pale mare...the one who was lagging behind... No mare had touched her there in such a way since...since before her mother died. As if almost by instinct, Akira's muscles began to relax and she took a deep breath, willing to hear this strange mare out. When her tender words held no malice nor contempt, only understanding and compassion, the pale buckskin swiveled her head slightly to listen closely, her white ringed ears quivering slightly. And when Mercedes cautiously took a few steps closer, Akira miraculously did not shy away. The small mare's words rung true, stinging Akira's heart with guilt but also reassuring her that...things would be okay. And when she even offered to aid in her escape, Akira's eyes widened once more in surprise before turning to rest on Kyanos once more.
She almost collapsed from relief, seeing how his demeanor had softened as well as her own. She was lucky this mare had stepped in for her. One of these days...her furious mistakes were going to catch up with her. She was just grateful it wasn't here...in the middle of the eerie fallen city, where they all truly could be in danger thanks to her. When Merce nudged her gently in order to guide her to the church, Akira's eyes once more locked on to the large scar beginning from the mare's mouth to just beneath her calm blue eyes. It was then she knew how stupid she had been to lash out. There were other mares here...she wasn't alone anymore...her mother wouldn't have tolerated how selfish she was becoming... She hung her head in defeat, submitting to Kyanos's authority and making a mental note to do so until their mysterious trip out in the wilderness was over. She had learned from her outburst...thankfully not the hard way...and she wasn't going to do that again, not now under the stallion's harsh gaze. "You can't," had been his answer to her question, which made her cringe. She would just have to take a leap of faith...and trust that he really would protect them and not take advantage of their vulnerability. Stumbling lightly at first, she remained shoulder to shoulder with Mercedes and allowed her to lead the way to the cathedral's entrance, submissively avoiding eye contact with Kyanos the entire way as he directed the group back to the cathedral, verbally reprimanding her in his own somewhat subtle though still as harsh way.
Akira's pitch black forelock hiding her cowering face, a few fresh tears fell from the tip of her muzzle to the ground below before she finally spoke once more. "...Thank you...." she whispered to her dainty savior with the last of her strength she had to speak.

The paintaloosa watched as the peppy mare trotted right up to the building, stepped inside, and called out to her and the two other mares to join her, and that it was safe. Evalynn narrowed her eyes at the building, almost accusing the church of foul play, though she knew it was ridiculous. But since Kyanos had chosen this place to bunker down, Evalynn grit her teeth and stepped forward, cursing her luck. She'd much prefer hiding in the forest somewhere, but nope, they were smack in the middle of the broken city.
After a couple of hoof steps, a loud voice screamed out, and she jumped in surprise, letting out a startled whinny. Spinning, she looked back to see that it was Akira yelling. Pricking her ears forward, she listened to the mares rant, and her eyes widened slightly. Ah... So that's why she was trying to get revenge on the herd. While she agreed with Akira full-heartedly, she couldn't help but wince, hoping that she'd stop screaming as soon as possible. Evalynn listened as her angry voice bounced off of the surrounding buildings' tall walls, echoing around them. If there was anyone, or thing, anywhere near them, there was no way they didn't know exactly where they were now.
Just as she was about to try and go to Akira to say something to sooth the angry mare, Mercedes rushed over to her, making Evalynn pull up short. The small mare seemed not to really like her presence, so she figured she'd stay away for now. Instead, she sighed and trotted up to the opening of the church, taking one longing glance to the far off forest just barely peeking out from one of the forests, before making her way into the building. Not seconds after she stepped in, Kyanos marched in, making his way past her, and deeper into the church, widening the next opening to reveal a large room with crumbling wood scattered about. Evalynn really hoped now that nothing heard Akira's screaming, because if they came in, and were a threat, she'd have two choices, try and use her fire manipulation and hope the wood wasn't as dry and flammable as it looked, or try and physically warn the predator away, which there was more than enough room she supposed. She'd long since made up her mind that if a cougar, or rat, or any other lurking beast decided to attack them, there was no way in hell she'd let the half blind stallion protect them alone. That was just a bad idea all around.
Picking her way further into the room, she looked around, noticing the high windows, and then her eyes zeroed in to the two exits on the other end of the room. That made her feel a bit better... slightly. Evalynn then proceeded to walk over to where a ray of weakened sun shone in on the room, and folded her front legs, letting herself drop to the ground with a flick of her tail. While her position was one of rest, she made sure she had positioned herself to face the main entrance, her knight instincts pushing her to be on look out duty.

At last, everyone was in the building. Kyanos allowed himself five seconds to take in a deep breath, letting it out slowly. He felt better in here. They were out of sight of the world around them, but not out of earshot. He could work with this. He stood at the large entrance to the big room, waiting for the rest to join Evalynn in the room, all the while his radar-like ear swiveled this way and that, scanning for any sounds that would hint to this building being unsafe. So far though he heard no such things. The building didn't creak or groan, therefore not threatening to fall on top of them. No skittering claws or deep breathing could be heard other than that of the horses around him, showing that predators had not yet claimed this place, and if they had they weren't here right now. What did come to his ears was something he hadn't been expecting... voices? He froze, holding his breath as he tried to pick up on the quiet mutterings, but the wind was working against him, making them nothing more than a whisper. On quiet hooves he sneaked out to the main entrance of the building, his ears flicking this way and that, trying to determine where the voices were bouncing from. With all of the buildings the sounds echoed all over the place. There was one thing he was sure of though, someone else was here. His dark tail flicked harshly in irritation at the thought of being disturbed. They had finally settled down. Things were supposed to be quiet now. They were supposed to just hang around until the were given the command to return... or so that had been what he wanted. It seemed fate was not on his side today, at all.
The mares were quiet for now, and he appreciated that. He took another step out, though stayed close to the large building in hopes he wouldn't be seen. Eventually he was able to pin-point the voices in a general direction, though to see them was not even an option for him. He faced the direction in which they came from... or close to it. His ears perked alertly as he tried to make out what they said, though the voices were too soft for him to do so. Part of him wondered if he was just hearing things - whispers on the wind - but the other part of him was not about to take such a risk to let it slide. If there was someone there, he wanted to know, seeing as they would surely know of their location by now, after all of that screaming. A disappointing sigh escaped his muzzle before he turned to face the mares who waited inside obediently. As much as he hated to ever ask advice or aid from anyone else - especially not a mare - he felt there was little choice. His job was to protect them, but if they were going to survive they needed to work together. He couldn't go out and leave them here to fend for themselves after all, even if one of them was a very skilled fighter, something he knew from experience... the hard way.
"I may hear someone." His rustic voice was quiet, just in case they could hear him too. "Do you see anyone?" He wasn't asking anyone in specific. Any of them would be able to see better than he himself after all. He needed to know for sure that someone was out there. And if there was, they needed to decide what course of action they would take. Would they hide here and hope they passed by? Or would they go out and investigate themselves? Neither seemed very high on his list though. Who were they? Perhaps they were just other Bachelors looking for shelter as well... maybe they could group together in their church. There is power in numbers after all. But what if they were Olde? Could he defend the mares were the enemy to come? Not only that but were it to be them, Evalynn would certainly join the other side. He would be outnumbered. He shook his head, trying not to dwell on those thoughts. He didn't even know if there were actually horses out there yet. "Well?" He urged, his patience waning. They were wasting time the longer they sat here. He didn't care who came to observe, but he wanted someone to do so, and quickly.

Mercedes smiled reassuringly as Akira calmed down, walking beside the mare as they ventured inside the somewhat intact building. She felt the claustrophobia pressing down on her chest, but she forced herself to stay calm. It wouldn't be good if she just panicked after calming down Akira. She noticed the tears falling from the mare's nose and she reaching up to give her a comforting nuzzle. "Everything will be okay," she whispered, her gaze warm. She would keep her promise to the mare, swearing that she would end Akira's suffering and help her get away from the herd. Mercedes raised her head as she heard Kyanos speak, her eyes narrowing slightly. Were there others out there? Perhaps they were other mares and foals from the herd, but judging from Kyanos' tone, they weren't. Merce felt her heart sink, wanting so badly to see her best friend's daughter again. She had no idea where Felicity was, but she prayed for Robin's sake that her little girl was safe. The small mare glanced at Akira, nuzzling her neck before walking over to the stallion. "I can go see what's out there. I'll be fast and I won't run, I swear," she spoke with sincerity in her voice, hoping that whatever was out there wasn't too dangerous. If it made her spook, who knows who could stop her before she ran deeper into the city.
Without another word, Mercedes slipped out of the church, her hooves soft on the broken cement. It felt good to get out of that building, and Mercedes felt some of the pressure lift off her chest. She glanced back at where Kyanos was, dipping her head before continuing on down the street towards the source of the voices.

{ Akira }
"Everything will be okay."
Akira couldn't explain it...but for some reason she believed this mare...this stranger...a truly odd phenomenon considering how her trust was not easily gained. Perhaps she reminded the buckskin of her mother...or maybe Aralynne...someone she already trusted...but no matter what the reason, Akira felt calmer in her presence, even within the cathedral's eerie, looming walls. It was the longest she'd ever been confined to such a small space. Though she did have to admit, the stained glass windows were a sight to see. Her mother used to tell her folk tales about the humans. As flawed as they were, they still did create beautiful things.
She'd just begun to settle down in a corner near Evalynn when Kyanos once more spoke up, this time seeming a bit on edge. It seemed he'd caught wind of something...or rather someones not far off from where they were hiding. Immediately the dark haired mare felt a stab of guilt, realizing this may have been her fault. With all her yelling, someone was bound to notice. What if she had put them all in danger? She had to do something..
After Mercedes piped up, offering to go scope out the scene, Akira warily made her way to her feet, daring to address Kyanos after what had just happened. "Please...I know...I'm the last one you want to deal with right now after the stunt I just pulled...but she shouldn't be out there on her own. I...my gift aids in stealth. Part of the reason I've been able to keep tabs on the bachelors and how I've avoided capture all these years until now. I know how to get around quietly...and quickly. Let me go with Mercedes...it's probably my fault they got this close...if I had kept my mouth shut we wouldn't have to worry about this. I want to...help make up for my mistake. I won't run...I promise...I gave Mercedes my word that I wouldn't, and I never go back on my word," she pleaded softly, that same brokenness appearing in her brown eyes that had originally been there at the start of the trip, "If anyone should half to risk their life, it should be me.."

He only wanted for one of them to come see if they could see anyone from where he stood, but instead he suddenly had two of the mares offering to go look. The smaller one he trusted, which was good because without even waiting for his ok she started off into the streets. He was about to rebuke her for not waiting for his reply before suddenly the buckskin was beside him, all but begging him to let her go with the other. Well, if there was one thing for sure, there was safety in numbers, but could he trust the both of them to go wandering off? His ears pinned back shortly. If they tried to run there was nothing he could do about it... nothing at all. In the end he decided he didn't have much choice at all. He couldn't let the small cream mare go on her own and she was already heading off. "No one is risking their life." He quickly corrected. His voice was soft to keep any around them from hearing, but loud enough to be heard by the both of them. The last thing he needed was for them to go trying something heroic. They all needed to stay safe, not run off risking their lives for the others. That only ever caused more trouble than was necessary.
"Two blocks," He suddenly said, and from the tone of his voice he was Very serious. "No farther than that. If you can't see anything by than you turn right around and come back." His instructions were stern, making sure it got into their heads. "The moment you see something you come back. Do Not hang around to observe. We will gather and decide what we will do when we are sure of the presence or lack thereof of other horses." He hesitated for a moment, obviously not one hundred percent assured about this idea, but in the end he decided there wasn't much else. They needed to know if someone was out there. With that he nodded to Akira, motioning her to follow after Mercedes. "If there is trouble just call and I will be there." He added quickly, this time his voice softer, not so much as order as an assurance. He would be there, they could rely on that.

((Alright guys. I hate to say this but we sadly can't be waiting forever for people to post. It wouldn't be fair to everyone else. We need to get the plot moving. Once again I will be initiating a two-post-between order. The posting order restarts after this post, so it's free-for-all.))

Mercedes didn't hear the rest of what Kyanos had to say, and she was too focused on her surroundings to try and care. She did catch him saying two blocks, so she kept that in mind. She walked with wary steps, but even with how dainty she was walking, her hooves still echoed in the all too quiet city. She shuddered and chided herself, walking a bit slower to make less noise. She completely stopped as she heard distant voices, her ears swiveling to and fro to hear them better. They were smart to stay quiet, but even in the silent city, their voices carried. Merce flinched as she heard hoofsteps behind her, snapping her head back to stare wide-eyed at Akira. She relaxed visibly and let out a soft sigh. "You scared me," she murmured, a soft smile spreading on her face. The small mare turned back to the voices, furrowing her brows in worry and curiosity. Even though it was faint, she somehow recognized one of the voices. It stirred up memories that she had locked away for years, and Mercedes shut her eyes to block them. Where were they coming from?
She shuddered at the feeling of someone watching her, shaking her mane to try and get rid of the crawling sensation. Glancing at the other mare, a look of desperation came over her features as she regarded Akira's presence. "We have to go see where they're coming from," Mercedes murmured, turning and trotting ahead. She headed down the broken street before pausing by the opening to an alley. Two blocks, Mercedes, two blocks. She sighed to herself, trying to force herself to obey but... She just had to find out who was in the city with them. Another glance back at the buckskin and she slipped into the alley, shuddering at the close space before coming out onto another street.

Iscah turned to the others, cocking her head. "Voices?" she could not hear any herself, the only voices she could hear was the talking of the group. "I am not sure, Kyanos. I do not hear-" then suddenly she heard something, or at least she could have sworn she did. There were other groups of Bachelors out looking for shelter in the city, perhaps it could be them. Oh, maybe one of them could be here mother, she would love to see her mother right now. Then Mercedes suddenly offered to investigate, and the Loner captive piped up to join her. Iscah gave them curious glances but just smiled.
She thought about offering to join Mercedes and Akira while they went out to investigate the voices, but she was quite content being in the church, and they would probably be fine together. "I think it's just you, me, and her," she motioned to the Olde captive. She turned to Kyanos, "do you think those voices belong to Bachelors?" she asked him. "I mean there are other groups of us out there, and I doubt that any Exiles or Olde would be here," she shrugged and looked to the direction that the mares went.
