Show You The World Jodifarrow's Kanu K-i-n-a-r-i's Liora (In terms of timing, Kanu and Liora are teens. So this is well before any objective).
[Kanu]
The day was warm, the sky was clear and the birds brought a pleasant song to Kanu's ears. He scanned the area, looking around for something to do. He would usually be training but his father was busy on his rounds. Kanu took it as a day off, taking the time to relax and rest his wounds from the awful beating he had received from his former best friends. He was now alone for the most part, he had only gone out a few times in search of friends- otherwise it was just resting and sparring during the day for him. His confidence had been slightly shaken due to the pain he now felt all over his body. He was for the most part able to withstand it, but every now and then the bruise under his eye caused a terrible feeling that caused him to lose sight momentarily. He flicked his bangs from his eyes and begun walking, his head low and his eyes dull.
He stopped mid-step, seeing a figure in the distance. It was Liora, he could tell from her long mane and tail, and her vibrant coloring that shone in the sunlight. He had heard a lot about her from his father, who was friends with her parents, but he had never gained enough courage to actually talk to her. His previous group of friends never let him discover new people- which was probably why he had never moved out of that group and into one that would actually treat him properly. He pricked his ears, contemplating whether or not to approach her and say hi. He often tried to impress mares, but he was in no state to do so now so it would be less difficult to like him. He wasn't very easy to get a long with when he was being cocky.
He begun toward her, his head still low. He figured that he didn't look very friendly at the moment so he quickly tried to flick his hair from his forehead and brighten up his expression, although the bruises on his body couldn't be fixed, he hoped he didn't look too rough. "Hey..." He said, giving her a smile. He knew she was shy, so he kept his distance at first, not wanting to intimidate her. Although he wasn't that scary anyways.

The warmth of the day allowed Liora to relax a little. Her fear of others was immense at this point in her life. She knew many of her herd mates wouldn't hurt her but, it was difficult to differentiate between the nice ones and the not-so-nice ones. Regardless, Lioras father told her she needed to be brave and show she was brave to the others. If she didn't, her father told her, she would end up being an easy target.
Liora glanced up when she heard the sound of a bird fly over head. She stared at it I awe and slight loathing. How she wished she could have wings and just fly away from everything and everyone.
A sudden voice snapped her out of her little fantasy. Liora jumped slightly at the sound. It wasn't difficult to spook the young paint. She quickly turned to face the source of the intrusion of her daydreaming. It was Kanu? What was he doing here? Well of course, he lived here. They all did. But, why was he talking to her? They never speak. All she really knew about him was what her parents would tell her. They were on good terms with his parents and they always tried to get the shy mare to make friends with him so she would have at least one horse she could speak with. Yet, she was just too shy.
Liora froze, uncertain on how to respond to him. It was as if her voice had flown away with the bird. Words just wouldn't come out.

[Kanu]
As Liora simply stared at him, Kanu raised his eyebrows, a confused and slightly awkward look on his face. She seemed to have been daydreaming until he had come along, so he worried that she didn't want him there. Usually he wouldn't have cared, and he would have kept talking, but now that he apparently needed to choose his friends wisely, he was becoming more tedious when it came to doing so. He shifted his weight, leaning on his right side so his left front leg- which had a nasty bite wound in it- could be relieved of some pain temporarily.
He remained silent for a while, looking in all directions as if, if he looked at her he'd burst out crying- which he might have done. No, you're not a prissy little colt, you're a teenager now. Grow a pair. He thought harshly, he was always criticizing himself, it was his way of coping with bad days, or awkward moments like this. He cleared his throat, so his voice didn't pop mid-sentence like it usually did around this age. "Umm... Liora, right? Are you going to answer or should I just go?" He said, re-saying it in his mind and trying to decide whether or not he sounded rude. Why was he so nervous? He had done this before- even after the run in with his former friendship group- but generally the horse he was talking to didn't just stare at him when he started a conversation.
He looked away, sweat beginning to run down his forehead. He grunted, trying to flick his forelock over the small trail of perspiration so Liora didn't see it.

The pale mare was unsure on how to respond to the stallion before her. It came as a shock to her to hear that he actually knew her name. Her surprise wasn't really justified, though; seeing as their parents were good friends and probably mentioned her name in casual conversation with their son. Liora remained motionless, continuing to stare at him quite awkwardly.
The silence among them was intense. Sounds of water trickling down the small riverbed close and the birds chirping around them all became more apparent. The silence was only broken again by the stallion. He seemed oddly determined to have a conversation with her today. What was there to fear? He had never been one of the others that had hurt her. He didn't call her names or speak unkindly of her to others of the herd. As far as she was aware, he was just another herd member. She noticed his face appeared to twinge a bit. He appeared to be in some form of pain. Where that pain came from, she wasn't sure of just yet. From the shift in his weight, he seemed to be favoring his left front leg. Was that the source of his pain? Liora came to the eventual conclusion that he was of no harm to her. Hopefully, she was correct. "Y-yes...why are you in pain?" Probably not the best thing to say as an opening sentence. Oh well. She couldn't take it back now. Besides, she was curious.

[Kanu]
As Liora simply stood there, giving him no expression to read off of, he continued to look around awkwardly, humming quietly to try and rid himself of the silence that seemed to be attacking his brain. He never liked silence. It made him paranoid. Finally she spoke, her tone was wary and quiet, so he guessed she wasn't trying to be rude- she was just shy. Kanu understood, he was just the same at the moment, he wouldn't usually be, but making friends suddenly didn't appear as easy to do as it used to be. He cocked his head slightly, unsure at first of what Liora was asking. Oh. He thought, looking to the bite wound on his leg, he shifted it slightly as if he felt like she was judging it.
"I was beat up-" He said bluntly, as if it was a normal thing. He was pretty casual about everything, not much seemed to shock or surprise him, which was apparent in his tone. He examined the festering wound that was only now beginning to scab over. Flies picked at it irritatingly, but there wasn't much Kanu could do about that, for stomping his leg to get rid of them would hurt too much. He sighed, realizing he should explain his situation instead of answering so bluntly. "I had a group of friends. Not very nice horses to be honest- bullies if you will. I tried to leave their group and they came after me." He was saddened about not having any friends at the moment, but the beating was worth the freedom. His friendship group was more like a jail than anything else. The leader made his 'slaves' do everything he said, which at first Kanu thought would be exciting, but the things he got Kanu to do were terrible, and Kanu couldn't believe he had done half of what he was ordered.

The young mares ears pricked forward as he spoke. 'Beat up?' ...'Bullies?' His words made the heat rise inside of her. She strongly disliked those who harmed others, either physically or emotionally. It just wasn't right. Liora knew from first hand experience just how cruel some of their fellow herd mates could be.
His words didn't just make her mad. Another emotion had bubbled its way into her throat. It was sadness. A slight depressed feeling. Liora glanced away, her eyes full of sorrow for the stallion before her. "I...I'm sorry...that happened to you...I...sort of know how you feel" Liora's words trailed off as she spoke. Her heart ached with pain from as memories flooded her head like it all happened yesterday. Well, most of it did happen the prior day. She was lucky that she had, so far, got the day off from her bullies.

[Kanu]
It was obvious that Liora had, had run ins with bullies of some sort. Probably his former group of friends actually. He himself hadn't done anything to harm this mare, this was the first time he had even interacted with her. But his 'friends' were known for targeting shy mares- which seemed to sum Liora up so far. Once she turned away, his face slowly melded from un-phased to concerned, he didn't plan on staying for this long, but now he felt he had an obligation to stay, pretty much because he was almost positive that it was his friends who had caused her grief.
He moved around so she was face to face with him, despite having turned away. "Are you ok? What happened? If it was my friends, don't worry, my dad said he's sort them out. And trust me, he will." He said, confident they'd learn their lessons once his father had finished with them. His father had dealt with things like this before, and succeeded in helping Kanu make his everyday life better. He didn't really care for Liora as of yet, but he wasn't heartless- anymore- and didn't like seeing her this way.

The mare hesitated slightly. She was well aware of the kind of horses the dark colored stallion hung out with. His friends were indeed some of the few who went out of their way to make Lioras life miserable. So, why would he care? They were his friends and besides, this was only their first real time talking. So, what was his deal? Was he trying to trick her like the others had done in the past?
Liora nodded in response to all his questions. She didn't want to give in to her tears but one slid down her cheek from the heavy weight of all the painful memories. This made her turn her head away from him, not wanting to show her fear or pain. "Why do you even care?" She finally spoke up with, trying to hide the cracking of her voice from the tears. "It's not like you have ever bothered to speak to me before now. How am I supposed to know this isn't just some trick?"

[Kanu]
Wow, he knew his friends had associated themselves negatively with Liora, but he had no idea it effected her this much. He was never around when they messed with her, he didn't know why, but he often missed out on them meeting with a handful of the younger Exiles, Liora being one of them. He flattened his ears, not out of anger but honest worry. Most of the horses he himself had injured mentally or physically didn't turn out this way. Even though he was apart of their group, he had to admit that he didn't do as many horrible things as the others did. He liked to say he was outgoing and willing to- but when he was stripped down to his last devices, he just wasn't that heartless. Which was why he decided to leave in the first place.
"Liora, don't you think this-" He motioned to himself- to his wounds, "Is enough proof that I seriously don't belong there? Or want to be there for that matter? Yes I was apart of that group, but only because they were the only ones willing to take me in. Otherwise I would have had no one. Some prefer it that way. I don't. I am making them pay- don't worry. They won't bother you again. I'll get beaten ten more times if that's what I have to do to keep them at bay." He said, meaning every word. Pretty much every word he said at any time was always thought out and truthful, he was always scolded for lying or not being honest. At this time especially he wouldn't dare fib, she was obviously in a large amount of pain due to his friends. He wished he himself could teach them a lesson. But he was too weak against their numbers.

Liora's gaze drifted from Kanu's wounds, down to her hooves. She watched the grass blow around her legs as he spoke of what he went through and what he was planning to do. "I am so sorry they did that to you...I know how much it must hurt.." Deep down, Liora wanted justice for what had happened to her and Kanu. She wanted to see their consequences come back at them for what they had done. Yet, another part of her knew it didn't change anything. It didn't make her any better than them. She also didn't want Kanu to have to be the one to do it. "N-no..." Liora mumbled to herself. "No!" She finally spoke up so he could hear her. "I want revenge as much as you do but it doesn't make us any better then them."
Liora lowered her once more, knowing all too well that not talking action didn't help solve the bullying issue either. "They can bother me all they want..." She didn't want Kanu to worry so she flashed him a quick, forced smile "I'll be fine. Thank you though...for offering. I don't want anyone getting hurt on my behalf." The last thing she wanted to have happen, was to see Kanu get beaten up again because of her. She may not know him well, but she knew he didn't deserve any of the pain. After all, he wasn't the one who had done anything to her.

[Kanu]
As Liora's voice rose, Kanu stepped back slightly, shocked at her sudden turn of emotion. His stomach churned at how deeply she felt about this. Although her act of slight aggression had shocked Kanu, she had a point. He remembered what it was like to be at their level, and at the time he didn't care but looking back on it now- he regretted every moment. He would never stoop that low again. Since being 'kicked' out of the group, he had been trying to apologize to any and everyone who he had potentially hurt while under the influence of peer pressure. Kanu's head rose to the sky, eyeing the large birds that flew overhead.
"You're fine? Pfft, you don't fool me for a second." He said, his words generous and surprisingly calm. He turned away from her, heading toward a thick clump of half dead trees. Before he begun walking off, he looked over his shoulder at Liora, "You coming or what?" He said, motioning toward himself. He figured she didn't have anything important to tend to now, and he didn't either- why not make use of their time?

The pale mare stared at Kanu with confusion. He wanted her to follow him? But where too? No one ever took the time to speak to Liora, let alone ask her to go somewhere with them. Could this truly be innocent or was he trying to trick her? All of these thoughts put a fear in Liora.
Yet, her hooves began to pick themselves up in response to Kanu's invitation. The mare remained silent for most of the walk, until her nervousness took over and she began talking rapidly. "So where are we going? It looks interesting over there. Is that where we are going? Why are we going there? What's over there exactly?" Liora quickly caught on to her nervous ramblings and shut her mouth tight, feeling slightly embarrassed.
