" Ruins " T h e P l o t Bored and on a random adventure, Illucid stumbles across the Fallen City, as it is so called. Curious, he travels closer, only to find that most of it is ramshackle. However, he manages to enter a house or two and is on the lookout for artifacts and things he can collect. He's always looking for company, and who knows what they could find there. Will your character join him?

Illucid | Loner | Messenger
Clouds formed an angry mess above the young buckskin's head as he strolled across the East Isle. The sun had been long hidden behind their swarm, leaving a darkened earth to see by. This was possibly Illucid’s favorite weather – the type just before the rain. Everything seemed to darken into dark shades, and the slight breeze always brushed through his mane and tail, leaving him feeling weightless. Of course the rain itself was also great, he preferred this over it all. What perfect travel weather, as well.
His hooves came to a halt, ears flicking forward and bright blue eyes alert when he spotted something in the distance. There seemed to be an odd building up ahead. Illucid blinked a few times, head tilting. He’d lived most, if not all of his life on this isle, and he’d never once noticed this before. Of course, he didn’t come through this way very often, but considering the way he traveled, he’d have thought this would have been spotted. Curiosity, as always, got the better of him, and soon he was being carried by his own four hooves towards this building. The closer he got, the more he saw. Many of them, unfortunately, seemed completely run down, but there were still the select few that appeared to be able to support something. Vines raced up their sides, giving testimony to their age. The buckskin’s heart began to race with the mere thought of being able to get inside one of the buildings.
Illucid was less than careful as he marched up to the first building, a crooked little shack looking like it was on its last leg. This didn’t faze him, and he moved over towards the door. Inhaling deeply, the appaloosa placed a shoulder against the rickety wooden piece and pushed. Followed by a loud crashing noise and a heap of Illucid on the floor was a surprised squeak. Shaking his head, he pushed himself up a little, giving himself a moment to adjust to the darker light and have a look around.

A deep rumble emanated from the clouds above. A frown crossed the stallions lips and a quick snort was his only reply to the impending rain. This had to be his least favorite weather. A single blue orb eyed the darkening skies and for once the young stallion simple wanted to scream; to release all his anger and frustrations on the skies that seemed to taught him day after day. It had been a week already and Jaxon had yet to see the glittering lights the painted the night skies. It was as if nature was laughing at him, keeping bliss just out of reach.
With an irritated flick of his tail, the bachelor carried on moving further and further toward the ruins that littered the land. Whatever left them must have been filthy creatures, the thought bore deep in his mind. Why destroy the beauty of the land with rock and dying wood? Even after generations, a fog of stink still clung to every inch of the horrid place. What choice did he have though? He was told to patrol the area for unwanted "guests" by order of the elites. Ever since the Exiles had made their presence known, even the older stallions seemed on edge. Now they were sending out extra guards to keep an eye out or any signs they might be getting too comfortable.
Jaxon would have rolled his eye had anyone been there to watch. The thought of those starving and crippled horses making any kind of trouble for the Herd was preposterous. What could they do against well trained---
A loud crack echoed from further ahead, causing the the stallion to pause. He saw no movement among the clutter of run-down shelters but the noise had to have come from somewhere...someone. Carefully, Jaxon moved forward, following the light cluttering racket. He could not smell anything thanks to the rank oder of the ruins, but he was sure that something was alive here in this mess.

Illucid | Loner | Stallion

Lifting himself back onto all four legs, the buckskin stallion gave himself a shake before looking around. He had created quite the loud crash, and landing on his shoulder had sent a wave of pain down his leg. Now, putting his weight on it, he felt uncomfortable, but he wouldn't let that stop him. Illucid also dismissed the fact that he might as well have called for the Bachelors to come find him. What did it matter to him anyway? He wasn't afraid of anything and would outsmart, if not outrun, those dumb stallions if he had to. Snorting softly, he moved forward, bringing his body completely into the ramshackle building. He could feel the air thicken with the oncoming rain and didn't want to waste too much of his time looking around these little houses. He could, of course, always come back if he wanted to.
Illucid's ears flicked back and forth as he listened to his surroundings. Although he had taken the door off of the shack, it seemed to have retained most of what was left of its integrity. It wasn't the most sturdy thing he'd ever seen, but he was more than curious to see what treasures he could find inside. Turning to look over his shoulder, he glanced back outside, gaze sweeping across the other buildings to make sure that he was still alone. He gave a shrug, his search coming up empty, before turning back and walking further inside. With ears forward, bright blue eyes alert, he looked around the first room. He wasn't quite sure what to make of it. Everything appeared to be molding and falling apart, and a strange odor clung to the air. Illucid couldn't tell what was what, and he began to wonder where these buildings even came from. Lost in his owns thoughts, the young stallion began to walk around the first room, curiously gazing back and forth at it's ruins.

Each hoof-step moved softly against the cracked rock surface as Jaxon avoided drawing attention to his presence. The foul smelling pathway stretched on for what seemed like miles, lines neatly with tall wooden structures. The stallion paused, mid step, straining to hear the rattling clamor that drew him further into the ruins. Whatever was making them had no fear of being heard; that was for sure. The trail of the clamor only seemed to echo through the whole of the area. Still, the source was unknown and Jaxon proceeded with caution.
Wearily, the young bachelor approached the shelter where the noise echoed loudest. It wasnt much to look. Branches poked eairly from obscure holes in the foundation, nosing their way up and around the outer frame. The whole back side of the form tilted at an odd angle, threatening to fall off at any minute and disappear into the sinkhole that was surly forming below the surface. Turning his good eye toward the front, he began to notice the unsteady path the scavenger had taken; given away by the fresh wood debris that were scattered across the porch. The hoof prints strewn across the dusty surface confirmed that the intruder was indeed equine. Perhaps one of the Exiles had broken from the herd in search of food or maybe even a loner had wandered here.
Jaxon's heard lifted at the thought of the loners or possibly even Q but the thought was quickly pushed away. Q wasn't so fickle as to rummage through this dump of a place and especially not so stupid as to draw attention. Whoever it was, he had been ordered to investigate ANYONE who stepped on Bachelor land. Carefully, the stallion placed his hoof on the steps leading up to the porch, his weight causing the wood to bend but not give. He paused slightly, wondering just how wise it was to enter an enclosed space with an unknown horse. But curiosity overtook him and quietly he moved forward through the front door.
