Eoos smiled catching up till a strong scent hit him in the face. A grass beast! The mule's ears directed to some heading her way. The stallion charged over just as one blew past him from her kicks. He bucked one out of the way before rearing up to display his strength and stomped the earth. He snapped his teeth making loud clanking noises while his nose wrinkled up by his silent growls.

Eoos caught up only to have the smell of the predators hit his nose like a brick. It was strong, nasty, something that crawled out of the underbellies of the earth. The Grass Beasts. Seeing them charge at Rae he lowered her head stampeding with a hot heavy snort. He bucked one sending it flying to hit against another one.

Rae took off across the field, shoving Eoos ahead of her. She knew she was faster but she didnt want to leave behind her new friend. She could already here the grass beasts catching up as they bit at her pasterns.

Eoos felt the shove as he galloped quickly. His big head might of knocked the one beast over but it wasn't enough to stop most of them. Upon running his ears turned listening for one coming on her right side. He lifted his back legs and kicked it aside from leaping onto her.

Rae panted heavily now after running across the large field. Ahead, she spotted a patch of woods they could lose the beasts in. She nundged her new friends, motioning at the woods before pushing herself faster toward it and splitting off around the woods, hoping Eoos would understand to go through rather then around like her. She was a distraction for the grass beasts.

Getting the hint, Eoos charged right into the woods. But wait...where was she going?? He saw the grass beasts following her. He kept running close to her with the woodlands trees blocking him from getting to her. His bells chimed with each stride.

Rae shoved off her haunches, turning up the hill, and the beasts followed as predicted. Ahead, she spotted a rather large ravine. She ran full speed toward it, appearing she would leap right over it, but at last minute she slid to a stop, turning like a reining horse. She didnt look rather heard the squeals and thumps as the 3 beasts fell to their deaths at the bottom of the small cliff. She sucked in a breath, squeazed her eyes closed, and spotted Eoos coming toward her.

Eoos raced over to Rae as fast as he could. Hearing the howls of the grass beasts he started to fear the worst! Was she hurt? Did she fall too! He burst out of the woods to only find her well and everything else still intact. He took a deep breath before trotting over to her. He sniffed about seeing if any of the beasts bit her.

Rae was covered in a flurry of small scratches down her legs and on her flanks, but she would live. Infact the only thing that really hurt was the chunk one of them had bitten off her back leg. It felt sore and beaten up, but otherwise ok. Greer nunged him, assuring him she was ok.

Eoos sniffed smelling blood. It wasn't taht major but it still needed treatment. Thankful he was friends to a healer mage. He looked at her smile ans grinned too. BUt his nose went back to the ground sniffing up a particular plant. He got to the edge of the woodland and found Yarrow plants. He pulled some off tearing a few in half. The oils form the plant stopped the bleeding and cleaned off possible germs from infection. The grass beasts were dirty animals after all. HE walked back to her and started rubbing the sticky oils of the plant on her scratches.

Rae moaned with pleasure as the oil seeped into her cuts with a cooling feeling filling every nerve. The oil acted as some sort of liquid bandage because now all she could feel was a dull soreness.
Rae's head shot up at the sound of a whinny, as she spotted a few other horses, and Vasska, the bachelor herd king. Her eyes widened. He was not happy. Rae took off down the hill and through the woods in a paniced flurry.

Eoos looked at her oddly till she ran down the hills. The olde king was not that far away. His distinct smell filled his lungs. He dropped his leaf and started to head that way. He paused though looking back at the other mare. He hoped to see her again. Though the first thing on his mind was is he going to get in trouble for it. But seeing the king take off in another direction made him sigh in relief. But it seemed like other horses were herding up for something. He had ot go see whats up. Looking back a second time, he reared up letting his bells chime a farewell as he took off.
I'm guessing we stop here? XD]
