This Can’t Be Legal
Present Day (401)
Plot Summary: Now a tenant of the East Island, Azibo is rather bitter about his herd's housing conditions and terms, and tired of living in fear of venturing out, despite the rent being paid. So he decides he’s going to get as much out of his stay as possible, exploring the island and its inhabitants. He’s lucky not to come across any infantry just yet, but he notices the broodmares taking shade under the Great Pine and figures they could give him some clarity on the island, only to be horrified when he’s told they’re slaves of the barbarians?? That can’t be legal. All broodmares are welcome to take part. Bachelor stallions will be able to cameo later on to chase Azibo off.

Rage wasn’t an emotion Azibo was used to. Not that he was a stranger to it, but it had been years since he’d felt this degree of bitterness. Why did it have to be their island that was nothing but ash now, what great sin had the Exile Herd ever committed? Surely karma was not looking down on the mindless mouth-breathers of the Bachelor Herd, for surely their horrible crimes weren’t evident in the lush grasses that swept his cannon bones as he trudged further and further away from his compadres.
Even though their stay had proven rather uneventful, at least to his knowledge, the zorse stallion hated how the herd cowered together in one position, with only the brave venturing out but never far enough to prove troublesome, or lest be chased back by the roided brutes. Well today, Azibo would be one of those brave enough to explore where he pleased, as he pleased. After all, they’d paid a heavy price to stay there, so he was going to make sure that the sacrifice was well appreciated. His current state of inner turmoil cast aside the thought of the Bachelors finding him and using his stout-but-small body as a a basketball or another form of amusement. At this point, he hoped to encounter a citizen of this island just so he’d be able to finally give them a piece of his mind, something he’d kept to himself all the times he’d been within earshot of his leader. If only he had any idea what the slithery Bachelors had planned….

But none of that was of his concern today, especially when it had appeared that his wish had rung true, and as he came over a small rise, an enormous, vision-consuming pine erupted into the sky, taking his breath away. Even in its prime, the Southern Isle had never seen a tree so magnificent. And much like fine fruit from its boughs, a cluster of mares stirred and dosed in its shade.
So, sucking his tongue back into his head, he struck up a purposeful trot, arching his neck as much as the thick cords would allow, and approached them, assuming they were alone or their guard was at least far enough away not to give off scent, or catch his for that matter. As he got close, he gave his best charming nicker and tossed his head.
“Such ah wan’derful a’fternoon laadiess. Mind if I join you?” He cooed to them, grin already in place.
