Reunion with Ginger-Goddess' Ghost and fawnss' RobinIt had been so long since the mare had some sort of peace, even watching her filly sleeping was peaceful enough. The sun had barely pierced the horizon and Felicity was already dead asleep. Of course, she had only been born a few hours ago, so it was expected. Robin sighed in bliss, her mind clear for once. Yet, there was this nagging thought at the back of her head, something that wasn't right. Robin gasped suddenly, the sharp noise waking Felicity up from her nap. Ghost! With her mind preoccupied on the birth of Felicity and the stupid grassbeasts, the mare had almost forgotten about Ghost's whereabouts. Was he okay? What if something had happened to him? Fortunately, Felicity seemed to notice her mother's distress, whinnying softly to calm the Arabian down. Robin sighed, turning and nuzzling the dark filly affectionately. "Come along sweetheart." The lady brood groaned as she lifted herself up off the ground, a bit jealous of Felicity's light body.
Robin trotted over to the rest of the group, staring warily at Cain as she shielded her daughter from most of the curious stares. She headed over to the rest of the broodmares, smiling as they cooed over Felicity. She mentioned her worries to one of the mares, pausing as she noticed a group of horses heading towards them. A joyful nicker left her throat as she recognized Ghost's large frame, even from a distance. Murmuring a thanks to the other mare, Robin led Felicity to the front of the group, making sure that she would be the first to greet her mate. "Ghost!" She whinnied to the spotted stallion, aware that Felicity had hidden behind her.

The old stallion sighed wearily as he approached the Summer Fields, the warm spring sun quickly drying his thick, mud encrusted pelt. It had been a long couple days for the stallion, and he was more than ready for some much needed rest. He glanced back at Elowen briefly, only to see Bat-Sheva making good on her word and patching up the younger mare best she could. The trip would have been so much easier if the broods hadn't shown up unexpectedly with an emergency, but the experience was far better training than anything else they could have tried while in the marsh.
Looking from face to face as he walked into the fray, the appaloosa searched for the only horse who mattered in his world. "Ghost!" Swiveling his ears, he caught the familiar sound of his mate's voice. Spinning around quickly, he trotted towards the beautiful paint mare, completely disregarding the pain in his tired and aching joints. "Robin!" He called as he approached, immediately noticing the fresh wounds that seemed to coat the mare's beautiful pelt. "What happened?! Are you alright?" Concern and frustration evident in the stallion's voice as he spoke. Taking a deep breath, he scanned the mare for any other injuries. Surprisingly, even with all the wounds and the heavy coat of drying sweat that covered her hide, the mare seemed to glowing.

Robin couldn't help but stare at the mud covering the stallion's coat, along with his shortened mane and tail. "Grassbeasts attacked, but what happened to you?" She wasn't exactly worried that most of his hair was gone, but she was concerned on why it was gone in the first place. "I was so worried about you." The mare ignored his muddy coat, stepping forward and pressing her face to his neck. Feeling a small tug on her tail, Robin risked a glance behind her, smiling as she saw Felicity's little face peeking out. "I have a little surprise for you, Ghost." Nickering lowly, Robin coaxed Felicity out, lipping at the filly's curly mane. "Felicity, this is your father." The Arabian was absolutely glowing with pride and love, glancing between the two.
Ghost might have been expecting a colt, but Robin was glad she had gotten a filly instead. She glanced warily at Ghost's large hooves, wincing at the thought of them slicing through a foal's head. Looking back down at Felicity, she smiled, lowering her head and nuzzling her daughter.

"Grassbeasts?!" Ghost snorted angrily pawing the ground with his forehoof. "Where were Apollo and the other stallions sent to protect you?! This is uncalled for!" The stallion felt the anger welling up inside of him as he spoke, and he tried to calm himself quickly. No need to take out his frustrations on Robin. Sighing heavily as he attempted to calm himself, the stallion turned his attention to answering the paint's question. "I'm perfectly alright. Some broods snuck out to the marsh and one of them got stuck in a tar pit. We got it taken care of and everyone is safe, don't worry." Ghost nickered softly as Robin pressed her face against his mud encrusted neck.
"I have a little surprise for you, Ghost." The mare stated with a low nicker. "A surprise? What are you..." The stallion stopped mid sentence as the tiny bay appaloosa appeared next to the Robin. "Felicity, this is your father."
Ghost stood unmoving for a moment, glancing back and forth between the gangly foal and her mother. Felicity? His baby was a filly? Fear and frustration gripped his innards so tightly he thought he might be sick. What would this mean for Robin? Would she be banished like so many before her? Yes, the filly would be a Lady, as Ghost was an elite, but that's not the life he wanted for his child...and the last thing he wanted was for felicity to grow up motherless like he had.
Hearing Robin nickering to the filly brought the stallion back to the present. Lowering his head to the little bay's level, he nickered, nuzzling her neck. "Hello sweetheart." He muttered softly, intent on keeping his concerns to himself for the time being, though he was sure Robin had noticed his hesitation. "Sorry it took me so long to get here." He smiled softly as he raised his head once more to look at his mate. "She's beautiful, Robin. She's absolutely perfect."
