The silver mare wavered through the glow of the magic forest, trailing slowly beside the warm ora of the stream that flowed through it. The queens starlight mane billowed down her neck and graced the earth, legs moving slow and rhythmically to the tune she sang. The mares dished face moved back and fourth, eyes closed to let the forest guide her to its heart. " Long ago, when this earth was cold God graced us a speck of gold-"
She chimed, her silk voice flowing through the wood like a light mist.
" From this a new hope was born The unicorn The unicorn"
Eyes still closed, the Queen still allowed the river to be her guide. It wasn't often that she sung, and kept her voice a secret from the ears of others.
" One day, the Ocean sang and the loveliest of us disappeared they say But their return was to be sworn-"
Slowing in her steps, the faerie-like maiden peeked open her eyes.
" The Unicorn The Unicorn"
She finally breathed, searching around her. The silver glow bounced from her olive eyes as she settled to the ground, allowing her mane and tail to feather around her. This was peace. [/font]

The Olde Advisor was trailing through the silver lined forest with utmost serenity in his movements as he listened to the sounds around him, eyes closed. Oddly enough, this place gave him much more peace than the praying pool could ever give even though it wasn't as holy. There was something about the fact that it had been untouched by human hands, unlike the surrounding area of the pool, that gave it such a magical aura. Just then the wind breezed past his torn ears to carry a beautiful chime he could recognize anywhere, for he did not have to see or have heard her sing before to know who it originated from... Bloom.
Years he had heard her and observed her from afar, cursing himself for the way she made his heart race and his skin burn like wildfire. It was wrong, and it was a sin. Not only was she betrothed to his own blood but he had sworn to devote his life to his religion and love could be nothing but a distraction. He slowly opened his eyes and gazed at the warm stream of water before him as he listened to the sweet and holy melody. How could anything so pure taint him so? The way her hair cascaded smoothly down her delicate neck yet was carried by the wind like everything about her was nothing but a light feather. Her steps seemed to float over the ground like it was not worthy of her touch as the grass danced beneath her dainty feet...
Despite his attempts to fight it, he felt his own chipped hooves moving involuntarily towards the sound his own long black tail dragging behind him and reaching her side when the music had stopped. He knew it was no good and it was the reason he had purposely avoided her for so long. However he was drawn to her, to the religious melody her lips carried through the wind and before he knew it she was there in front of him. Jediah sighed a little and addressed her though his body language would speak different as he averted his gaze.
"I do not mean to intrude," he paused "I was simply curious who sang the tale..."

The young leader rose from where she had graced the earth, half closed eyes searching around her. It was just now that she had noticed the stallion musk that lingered in the air, as Bloom seemed to always be more focused with the nature around her instead of looking for danger. The queens ears slowly swiveled forwards in curiosity, as she took a step forwards. She was close to the heart of the Silver Woods now, and she wondered who might wander out here this time of night.
Low and behold, the Adviser Jediah stepped forwards from the brush he had crept in. Her heart was relieved of any worry, and her shoulders sank in delight. What a sight for sore eyes, he was one of the most trustworthy members in Olde. Of course, that's why he had been appointed Adviser. He was much older than her, and that gave her a sense of security. She had only spoken to him a few times at most, but they had always shared kind words when passing in the herd.
" Oh, Jediah. . ." The Queen chimed, bowing before him in respect. " Its such a relief to see you, as you had me quite worried for a few moments!" Bloom admitted, drifting towards him, her silk tail following behind.
Her face turned a rose hue, and she turned away bashfully. " Oh dear. . ." the young mare gasped softly. " I am sorry you had to hear that. I often come here to ease my heart. I suppose singing is a good outlet for me, especially with war nipping our heals like wild fire." The mare drew even closer, head low with eyes pleading up to him. " You wont speak a word of this, will you Jediah?" Bloom whispered to him, face still blushed like the hue of the spring flowers.

His name in her voice seeped into his mind like a soothing bliss, though he would not show it, sending shivers down his spine. He wondered how it could be someone like herself would visibly melt away her worries at the sight of him, as scarred and rough as he looked. How could she be set at ease? Even trust him while these forbidden thoughts raced through his mind as she closed the distance slowly.
"And I am relieved that you are without worry now." He nodded slowly making sure to keep his composure as strictly official as he could. His turquoise radiant eyes followed her movements as she turned away with a blush, curiosity tingling in his mind as to why she had been embarrassed with such a beautiful voice... "Please, my queen, do not apologize as you have only graced my ears with your song." She came nearer and Jediah could feel his heart start to quicken its pace. No, stay away. He thought as he watched her calmly and swallowed a little. Stay far away from me... His eyes met with hers then as she lowered herself to look up to him. Those eyes that belonged to the heart capturing siren that was his leader, pleading for his secrecy. "Of course... You have my word." Jediah looked away from her and bowed his head slightly battling the thoughts that flooded his mind as she stood so near.

His movements suggested discomfort but Bloom wasn't one to come to such quick conclusions. For he had only graced her a few times, she had not a clue as to who he really was. Letting her thoughts drift away with the wind, the young Bloom pulled away from him. It was possible he preferred space, and felt bad for crowding him like she had. A smile crossed her lips, the blush fading in the moments that passed between them. " Oh, well thank you. It can be quite embarrassing to expose something you have kept secret for so long. I suppose singing is my big secret." Bloom giggled, brushing it off as nothing even though she was still quite embarrassed.
At least she could trust his word.
The mare drew away and studied him for a few moments, all the while holding a soft and kind air around her. She began to pass his side, ears perked in curiosity. " So, what has brought you out here on this spring night? Do you come here to ease your heart as I do?" The Queen asked, raising a brow. It was a bit strange to see a herd member out here so late, let alone and Adviser. Scars plagued his coat, and it was hard not to let her mind wonder what could have been the cause. A pang of guilt rushed her, as she should have known far more about the members of her herd.
" You aren't out here causing trouble are you, Jediah?" Bloom teased, smiling over her shoulder to him.

Once she moved away slightly, Jediah could feel himself wonder if he had failed to cover his internal struggle and let the signs foolishly slip out. In his mind, he had already punished himself for not being able to control his exterior. Her giggle was like yet another song to his ears as he could only wonder why she would keep such a thing a secret... However, he could never intrude and ask her why. Her eyes were on him, he could feel it though he did not see, and with soft movements she was suddenly gliding past his side and setting his skin alight as a small but quick fading blush appeared on his dark face. It had caused him to take a few moments to take in her words and reply but it was calm nonetheless. "Something of the sort, yes." He watched her intently and made sure not to inch any closer like he could feel himself wanting to. She was so naive and oblivious to such thoughts... He worried that when war came upon them she would easily fall for a brutes smooth talking trickery and get to close. Surely they would not bare the same self control as Jediah had all these years. "Why of course. I always seek trouble in the late hours of the night. There is much havoc to wreck with warm springs and glowing trees..." A small but faint smile played at the corner of his mouth at the sight of her smile but he instantly felt guilt wash over him for speaking in sarcasm to her and he felt the need to focus the subject back. "I do not hope it is the war that has caused you to feel the need to clear your heart?" He paused a little, considering if it was appropriate to ask her what was on his mind but he chose to speak it a little quietly instead. "Or my cousin..."

She didn't know if his sarcasm was ill intended or he was just fooling with her. Bloom was rather shy and often looked at things in the wrong light. Why did she deserve the kindness of her herd? She did not. Perhaps Vasska's ruling methods brought him the respect and love he had, not being kind and soft spoken as she. It was hard for the young Bloom to come out of her shell one on one with the Olde followers, but she had hoped her joking advances would have helped her do so. After all, she would never amount to Vasska's power. . . nor did she really want to. He was manipulative and harsh, while she had not one cruel bone in her entire body.
Shying away from the stallion, Bloom softened. " Why yes, the war has caused me to stress. . . Its hard seeing those who you love panicked by the fear of it all. Though I do not blame them. How could I? We are all very, very scared. . ." The Queen sighed, turning slightly away from him. It was more so a foreshadow to her own feelings on the matter. She was terribly scared, but had to keep her composure for her herd. Blooms olive eyes glinted in the silver light of the enchanted bark. It was such a cruel thing, and even as a nonbeliever, she would come here to whisper her prayers to the Unicorns. They had been their only hope in this grave situation.
She stayed silent for a moment, only gazing to him. His eyes pierced her, as they were as bright as the forest around them. She was conflicted to speak of Vasska, since he was an adviser. Nothing good could come of it.
" Its no secret that me and Vasska don't see eye to eye." Bloom started, her tone shifted much lighter. " And yes, it often causes me tremendous pain that it is the way it is. . .But what is one to do if your mate resents you? He does not love me. I am sure of this." The young mare sighed, ears flicking backwards. " But that is not important, what is important is the well being of my herd and I must not put myself before them at this time." Bloom said firmly, though her voice still soft as silk.
She couldn't expect him to understand her, but it was nice to be able to vent. After all, it was safe to assume the herd knew this anyways.

Her retort away from him made him feel somewhat responsible, but also relieved that she was no longer so close to someone with such great adoration for her as he. He had always told himself that the further he kept away from her, the better it would be. Bloom would not know and he could hope for redemption from the unicorns. Jediah's ears flicked back as she talked of the war, and he nodded slightly in agreement but worry all the same. Of course, it was a great cause of heart ache for them all and if it was in the advisor's power he would have done almost anything to avoid the contact between his herd and the faithless brutes. "It is a sombre situation we have found ourselves in..." He agreed and noticed the sorrowful stance by which she stood, feeling his heart sink for her and wishing he could lift the weight from her gentle shoulders. In both the matter of the war and the matter of his cousin. Though he feared there was not much he could do regarding either of the situations and for a moment, he had felt helpless for the first time. "Unicorns forgive me, I mean no disrespect to my own blood, however he is a fool not to at least appreciate what is before him. How could he not love his Que-" the realisation dawned on him that he had spoken out of turn, and to his leader nonetheless... Now who was the fool? Jediah lowered his head in pardon and calmly stepped towards the edge of the warm river, gazing into the distance seemingly lost in thought and repenting for his words. "You both endure what you must for the good of us all, which is appreciable to say the least." He paused, still looking into the distance with Bloom a few metres behind him. Regrettably he let the next few words escape in a murmur. "It can be much to endure when the one you love does not share your sentiments..."

Bloom shuttered. " I do not love him, Jediah."
She watched him stir, he was uncomfortable for some reason. Probably because he had spoke ill of his King. . . and his Blood. " Our relationship seems to be strictly political. His father was a rigid stallion and his son would only be a true heir if he was bestowed a mate. I had no say whatsoever. . .its caused an undying rift between us, and a loveless cold one at that." Bloom drew back to him, trailing near as he wandered to the waters edge. She was silent for a few moments, admiring the jewelry that dangled across his face. It glowed as the trees did, wavering in their magic light.
" Jediah. . ." Bloom mumbled, finally mustering up the courage to meet his side. She lowered her head beside his, her voice now only a mere whisper. " You need not fear me, I am not like Vasska. You can speak to me in any manner you wish. I am your equal. . ."
It was nice to know her efforts were appricated. It was much harder then it appeared to be lead mare. Most of the mares of Olde fantasized about if they had been Queen, mated to the all mighty Vasska. But Bloom had felt the cold dagger of it all in her heart for too long. It was more a nightmare then anything. " Thank you for your soft words. They are a glimmer of light in the darkness that has taken my life." Bloom purred, slowly drawing her face away from his.

The ear that was only half of what it once was flicked back and he felt his neck tighten as she confessed how platonic their marriage really was. For a long time Jediah had thought that at least the Queen had felt some sentiment for her King, she was so troubled by his cold demeanour after all but perhaps he had been wrong to assume. This was only deepening his inner turmoil further... "I know of my uncle's intentions as I witnessed them the day you arrived and saw the measures he took to make his wish true..." A small sigh escaped him as his eyes slowly closed in remembrance of the day Valentine banished a whole family to assure his plans. How a mare and mother had perished in the process of her exile and there was nothing anyone could do. It was the day Jediah had decided to aspire towards becoming an advisor, to prevent his cousin from inflicting such pain in the future and hope to remind him of his colt self in his darkest times.
Lost in thought and memories he had not noticed her approach but from a glance through the corners of his eyes he could see her eyes focused on the chain that fell coolly against his cheek. He felt himself clamp his jaw shut as an attempt to hold his tongue when she told him he could confide in her but he still let out a small whisper that was more to himself than anything. "It is not you that I fear but myself in your presence..." He mumbled under his breath turning his face away slightly before looking at her again. "Thank you." Jediah simply replied with a gentle nod, not being able to speak the truth for fear of the consequences and struggling to deny that it was the truth. Those words, he could feel his throat constrict as she spoke them. He had known his words to carry weight when it came to the decisions the leaders faced but never had he imagined them to hold any emotional anchor, to anyone... "Light is what you deserve..."

Blooms brow raised with his words. It was clear that the stallion had some sort of inner conflict either with her or Vasska, and it was this reason that he was uncomfortable. Sometimes it was rather hard for the Queen to read the emotions of others, especially when its reason had to do with her. She was a smart mare, but just as naive as a yearling. " I believe everyone deserves light. Though in this time it seems uncertain when it might return to us all..." The young mare trailed, craning her Arabian neck. His demeanor was beginning to unsettle her, and she wasn't quite sure how to react to it.
" You fear yourself around me. . .?" She questioned, her voice now timid and distant. Was he some sort of psychopath? What had he planed to do to her that he feared himself? It was all too much to absorb, and the young queen backed away. The forest felt like it was closing in around her, if Jediah was malicious in any way, no one would be able to hear them in the dense forest. " Please explain what you mean, or I will return to the herd." Bloom peeped, voice slightly shaken.
Who really was Jediah...?

Perhaps he had not thought his words through properly, for it seemed he had only caused his Queen to fear the worst as she backed away from him slowly. She might not have been good at reading others but Jediaah certainly was and had many years of practice. He hadnt meant for her to take it in such a way for he would never betray his oath to the unicorns and do anything to hurt her. No, he loved her and it had been the fuel for his sinful thoughts of wanting to be near her.
"Please, do not show such fear in your eyes" he said calmly without even glancing at her or moving in any way. The advisor simply stood looking into the distance without allowing himself to look at her. "There is nothing harmful behind my words and you must forgive me for uttering them before you." He breathed in deep and sought his quick mind for his next words but feared there was no way to describe his sentiments or take back his statement. "It is simply that when i see your sorrow it fills me with a sense of spite and resentment for my cousin. It is a sin to think in such a manner of one so close to me and I fear finding myself in such sinful thoughts." He closed his eyes and turned away from her a little to walk up to a nearby glowing tree looking up at the silver lined bark. "My life belongs to the religion and my herd. My cousin has everything in his possession to be a great leader, and i do not say he is not, however he is not happy... He does not value that which he has been given. Or appreciate each day with someone by his side." He shook his head a little and his blank gaze kept fixed on the tree. "Our Vasska has changed much over the years but all i wish for is to see him count his blessings for what he has for once and not simply look towards the negative though times are hard... He has someone as pure and noble as yourself by his side. Even if it is just in friendship."
