Arachnophobia
Briseis suffers from a seemingly incurable fear of spiders. She practically screams at the sight of a web. Her older sister Iscah and little brother Taavi decide to put a stop to her misery and show her there is nothing to be afraid of. But to no avail.

Quiverbacks
Drowning
Thunder
Wait! Maybe it was:
Aphelion snakes
Perditim moose
Falling boulders
No, no. It was probably landslides, lunar ravens, and quicksand.
That sounded about right. Maybe? Probably? Sort of? Briseis shook her head to clear it. She just couldn't decide on a 'list of top three things most scary to me today'. It was a daily tradition for Briseis to make such a list and she found it often helped her to keep her fear radar somewhat under control. If she knew what was scaring her most that day, she would go out of her way to avoid it, therefore avoiding the worst of her potential fear rending break-downs. Problem solved.
Of course, spiders were always first and foremost. Always. She didn't even need to add those it was such a given. in fact, she didn't want to; cause then she would have to think about them and the sharp mandibles, unnatural abundance of beady little eyes, and long hairy legs would be creeping through her thoughts for the rest of the day. She shivered, realizing with a pang of terror that she had just thought of them and therefore ruined her whole entire day. The young mare uttered a disgruntled sound of irritation with herself and decidedly hated her life.
The filly slapped her scar speckled flank with her tail as her sullen gaze drifted aimlessly around her surroundings, alighting with a dull awareness on the mares and foals grazing nearby, a spark of worry glinting in their depths as her intake of the land informed her that an infantry stallion was standing uncomfortably close by. A least fifty horse lengths too close. She sidled away discreetly, making it a more comfortable one hundred and fifty horse lengths. Well that was a little better.
Her anxieties were put to ease as she realized with a warm shot of surprise and a pinch of excitement that Lady Iscah was heading toward her. Her dark ears pricked and her eyes widened as her big sister neared. And was that Taavi bouncing along behind her? A wavering smile slipped onto her lips and her amethyst eyes brightened as she nickered a quite greeting.
