Welcome to Exile Plot 003 : Restoring the Land
Plot: Though the grasses seem a little greener upon your return to Southern, there is still much work to be done to the land. While your group's leader has an exceptional sense of the land and can actually effect the fertility and substances within it, they cannot do it alone. Your horses are tasked with clearing the land, and feinting off anything else that may think this land is theirs as well. . .
Setting:
The sun has just begun to rise over the last growths of green remaining here on the Southern Isle. Your group has just diverged from the others, having wished the guards and scouts sent out to fight the beasts farewell the night before. As you look out over the Ash Plains, it seems like a foggy dust cloud has grown accustom to it's place over the horizon line, blocking some of the light, but is not thick enough to be dangerous to breathe.
Team Captain: Khala (RusticLass)
Team Members: Cholena Sevastyan Maori Dawne
Checkpoints Reached: None
Rules: 1. The Captain of the team must post first 2. A posting order must be kept as people enter the rp. 3. No god modding 4. React to the Checkpoints as they come! (If you don't know what a checkpoint is - don't worry - you'll know when they come!) 5. Communicate with your partners! 6. Have fun!!!!
How the posting order works:
Khala must post first, then anyone can post after him. They can post back and forth until someone else posts, when someone else posts they must be entered into the posting order. For example: Ryder Fay Ryder Fay Jack Kasier Ryder Fay Jack Kasier Kayden
And so on. This means you do not have to wait for someone to join, but once they do their first post you must wait for them.

[ Khala | Exile Leader ] The morning air already promised a hot and humid day. But what else could she have expected from returning here? Khala took a deep breath in, a small smile lifting her lips. She could endure the warmth, she'd been raised in it, played in it, trained and fought in it. It all felt so natural again. It felt like home. Though there was no mistake as she began to scan the ash-riddled horizon that it would need some serious work before they could all comfortably live on the land again. Oh, but she was ready for the work! It would be worth it in the end, there was no doubt in her mind. Recently, she had discovered that her gift had the ability to actually sense the condition of the earth beneath her hooves, and she had secretly been taking mental notes of where they would need to work and where they would not.
At the moment, she was doing just that, her gift easily drifting into the soil surrounding her body. With eyes closed, she assessed the area, before turning to look at the small group of horses accompanying her this day. "We have some hard work ahead of us," she told them warmly, her joy in just being here evident as she spoke, "but I have no doubt that we will be able to find a solution to all of the devastation we face before us. Take heart! A year away has already improved the land greatly, and we will succeed at this. I have faith in us all. Now is the time to make it green again!" [ 273 words ]

It was the place she would never be destined to see, the place so destroyed, yet the holder of so many memories. Memories of that of her friends, memories that she took in stories and made her own. Her own to keep and her own to cherish.
"It is the place I have never seen, is it lovely there?" The grullo filly said dreamily, her forelock flopping into her face. She was in-step with her own mother Cholena, a mare, that as far as Dawne knew hadn't been on the Southern Island in several years. Her hooves sunk in ash, mud, and spongy grasses creating a safe landscape for the filly if she fell. Her heightened senses picked up stenches of starved animals that had died, but also of the light overlaying layer of regrowth.
Her red scarf's tail flicked about in the wind, while the other end would be looped around her mother's neck or held in her mum's teeth. Assuming it was around her neck because of the small talk about the group, Dawne wasn't being to careful about how rough she was on the line. The filly's ears pricked up as her leader's voice drifted through the wind to the back of the small group.
"Take heart! A year away has already improved the land greatly, and we will succeed at this. I have faith in us all. Now is the time to make it green again!" The filly's heart fluttered at the thought of being able to help her herd. Maybe in the future Dawne could even be a scholar and teach about the fires and the rebirth of the herd. There would be no complaints with the small filly. She could not wait to get to helping the lands regrow.

Sevastyan looked around uneasily. He remembered so much, but it was all strange seeing the memories flash before his eyes, only the scenes were so different from what lay before him. He shut his eyes tight and tried to think of better things. Sweet things, like scenery. Opening those emerald orbs to the world helped erase the bad thoughts. A light smog covered the otherwise cheerful morn and the sun's rays glowed a little eerily through it. It still looked a little gloomy, but for the most part a sense of hope could be found in the group. Looking at the smile grace Khala's mouth boosted his spirits considerably. Getting this to work would take some effort, and despite himself, he felt excited. There would be no issue in getting Sev to do his part. Hooves tingled with adrenaline, ears flicked from side to side, and he sighed with a strange sense of goodness. "How silly that this happened, ruined our lives, and now our leader smiles as she looks outward. I am feeling a little giddy myself, odd enough as it is." Sev allowed himself a slight chuckle, before resuming a relatively calm look. Khala's dulcet voice rang in his ears. Her small speech restored a sense of unity with the herd he had not felt in a long time. Sev's green eyes alit with sheer determination.

MAORI | EXILES | MEDIC
Following silently in the footsteps of their leader, Moari's mind once again wandered off. The Island still felt as their home, even though it had been completely destroyed by the fire back than. She had felt so horrible when they had no other choice but to leave their lands, their home, to go and ask for help from Olde or the Bachelors. And they found out who their real friends were - Olde denying them a safe haven and the Bachelors taken advantage of the situation and taking not only their leader, but also a handful of other mares. Maori wasn't the one to cary hatred in her heart, but both the Olde herd and Bachelor herd came close to making her do so.
Now that they were slowly but steady traveling back to the home they left previous year she felt she was a little excited. She knew that whatever they found there, wasn't certainly the land the fire had taken away from them. Their absence had been too short, the land for sure hadn't had enough time to recover and return in it's old state. Or a better state, for that matter, because she knew that even though ashes seem like nothing, it made things grow back even faster, stronger, better. They would get back their home, even though it would take some time. And she was determined to help however she could, because recovering the land mend taking back their home. Getting back out of the claws of the brute Bachelors - getting their freedom back.
As they reached the Southern Island she could feel how the ground beneath her feet had changed since they left the land bridge. And even though some others might feel like the land still hadn't recovered, she felt like it did. Not in the state they wanted it to be, but clearly they had to be patient. Just patient. Because even though the land was still filled with ashes, you could see the grass starting to peak through. And she knew that know that nature was thriving again, it probably wouldn't be long before they could return home again. And that felt good.
Maori smiled at the dark stallion's words, the stallion that stood no more than few steps away from her. It was indeed silly, she knew exactly what he mend. ''It has only made us stronger,'' she softly spoke, maybe even more to herself than to the stallion or anyone else in particular. The land dying under them had maybe weakened them in the beginning, but now that they were finally climbing up again it had only left them to be stronger than they once were. With a light smile on her face she listened to Khala's words, as the Leader turned herself back to them and started her speech. She was excited to get started and eager to help out however she could. She wanted to be free again.
