Knowing that many of you haven't roleplayed in a forum before, sometimes it's hard to know how it's different from how you usually roleplay, generally one-on-one in real time or over emails/dA notes, or in a group real-time chat.
Forums are kind of a delicate thing, especially when many people are involved. You don't want to overwhelm or exclude people. Many can't get on every day, and so when they get back, they're like "...what happened to this thread? I guess I should just abandon it."
To avoid this, we ask that you all observe an order-based system...think like you're playing a card game or something. You rotate, taking turns. If someone jumps in to play with you, you put them into the rotation, but it keeps going in order. Putting it simply:
Please post in order when roleplaying in a group. If it is an open roleplay and someone jumps in, after their initial post, the other already present roleplayers go in their usual rotation, next time adding them in.
If you get confused by the order, count the people in the forum. If you have 5 people in the chat, including you, you should have 4 responses after your last response before you post again.
The person who starts the roleplay may edit their original post to keep a list of the posting order for all the others to see - this makes it visually clear for others.
Further Guidelines
• If someone has not given warning and has disappeared off the face of the earth OR has been seen posting on the forums but ignoring a group rp, they have one week since the post they're supposed to follow has been put up to either: make their post, tell their fellow group roleplayers that they need more time, or to tell the group to pass them by this round.
• If you start a group rp and would not like to follow the group order method, please add some sort of warning to the title or the first post to explain that the order is not going to be observed in this specific session.
