Important!! New Posting Order Rules
Since the deadline for the end of the Objective V roleplays is slowly coming closer, the posting order guidelines for this thread have been changed. As it is difficult to keep waiting for everyone to post, please follow the next rules for the remainder of this event:
- You must wait two posts before sending in your next reply. - You may not post more than two times before a reply of your leader. - To make post reading easier, please underline/bold/italic/change colour of the name of the character you are adressing. - There is no posting order but please don't start a mini RP between two players just for the sake of posting. Make sure you react to more than one player's post

The stallion's expression grew darker as he remained silent, his ears flicking in irritation as he forced himself not to rebuke any of the other Adviser's statements. Jekyll kept telling himself that this was not the time for quarrels, even if they didn't agree with each other. Besides, disagreeing with the King's cousin could just lead to a severe punishment. Shifting uncomfortably, the Adviser gazed down into the tumultuous depths of the sanguine waters. He let out a deep sigh, contemplating what their next move should be. Jediah was the leader of this group, so didn't he have all the say here? Besides, it could very well be magic, but shouldn't they consider all possible reasons as to why the water went red?
"What else do you suggest we do? If it does prove to be magic, it would have to be some pretty powerful magic. How do we stop it then?" Jekyll muttered simply, loud enough for Jediah to hear. Would the river always run crimson, tainting the lives of the Olde Herd members? Jekyll didn't want this herd to be cursed forever...the herd that he had been born into. He didn't see himself as an Exile sympathizer; it was merely that he didn't want children to get hurt...or families to be separated by bloodshed. Was that the only option? War? At the pace they were going, the river wouldn't be the only thing stained the colour of blood. Jekyll closed his sapphire eyes, letting out a deep sigh. What could they possibly do to fix this problem?

Nefertiti looked now back to Jediah, and rose an eyebrow at his suggestion. She knew he couldn't be serious, not this unicorn fearing stallion. Though a walk down the river couldn't hurt, if anything it would help narrow the possibilities? Maybe a physical source would silence the advisers blabbering? Or a lack of one would just fuel his ramblings of the unicorns.
"well," The silvery mare started, hesitating slightly."a walk up the river couldn't hurt anything, I don't think." Her eyes shifted around the members of the party, resting again on Jediahs. "if we find nothing, then the only thing left to believe is a curse of some kind. And then we can go from there?"
She hadn't meant her last statement to sound like a question, but she didn't bother correcting herself. Considering she was quite unsure as to what they could do in the event of a curse without having to force the exiles off their land. Flipping her wet forelock out of her eyes, she turned her eyes back to the river's coursing red waters. Why would the unicorns do this to them? Was it really wrong of them to help out their fellow horses, be they exiles or otherwise?

Sparowanel | Rook | WC: 180
The rook had simply stood there while he was sniffed, while the others proposed theories, and spoke amongst themselves. The words rang hollowly in his ears, filtering into his mind ever so slowly, as if time itself had slowed down for him. At then mention of blood he seemed to come too, shuddering and lifting his head slightly, to see Nerfertiti along the river's edge, appearing to have tasted the water. Gaze darted about, still confused and uncertain, before locking onto Jediah. "So...what do you suggest then, Jediah? How do you suggest we turn the river back?" Sparrow asked, focusing weary eyes as attempting to get his brain and thoughts focused upon what was going on. "If this is meant to tell us to drive out the exiles and sympathizers, we cannot do anything about the first. Aren't others already out doing that? Or can we leave this cursed place, spread the message?" Head turned to take in the flowing crimson band, before he turned his face away again. "We can't compete with the unicorn's or Great Compromiser's magic."

Please note: Everyone has different spacing between their checkpoints. Some people will need to only post one round between checkpoints for the first one, while others will need two pages (: I know only being on checkpoint 2 at this timeis a little scary - but you're right on track!

Jediah had learnt to control his breathing when he needed to keep a calm mind, and this skill seemed to come to perfect use now. The decision was on him as were the eyes of the small group of herd members. Of course, he had made many decisions before and suggested them to the King but it had always been up to the other whether they would be accepted... It wasn't all that different but somehow it always took some of the weight off his shoulders. If an entire group were to accept his ideas, then when things went awry the blame could not fall on one individual in the group. So it would fall back on the one who had proposed it. Him. He did not wish to lose face in front of anyone, and return to Vasska with disappointing news.
"We stop it, by doing exactly that" he nodded towards the rook, Sparowanel, answering the other advisor's question. "We have to spread the message of what happened here, wade out the sympathizers and collectively pray for their forgiveness" he added wearily, hoping deep within him that forgiveness was possible. Was this the right plan of action, or would they have to go above and beyond to regain the Great One's belief in their pureness? Then, as if hearing his inner most thoughts, they were presented with a sign. The water seemed to seep through the very cracks on the ground, painting them in ominous red. His eyes went wide as his gaze followed it. "There!" he raised his voice so they would all hear, fearing that otherwise it would be a mere whisper of astonishment. "It's not spreading like water would naturally, gradual and in every direction. It's traveling with purpose towards the east! We must pursue it at once, if we wish to find answers." He could never be 100% certain that answers would be found where this water was heading, but right now it seemed like the only chance. This must be the Great One's doing, that was one thing he was sure of.

"By the Unicorns!" The knight whispered, looking at the red veins which were coursing to the east. Nefertiti was now very convinced it had to be magic of some kind, and it frightened her. Having this much power was almost unheard of aside from the unicorns themselves. Stepping over to look at the small strands of water, she looked towards the direction they were coursing, trying to remember the lay of the land. There was nothing really directly east aside from the ocean, which didn't seem right to her. Picking up her head she looked back to the group, looking over the faces of the others with uncertainty.
"Let's go then!" A spark of confidence and slight authority hummed in the mares voice, as she turn to follow the red waters that stained the land. Pushing off the earth, she began a quick canter along the path the water cut, looking back to make sure the others would follow her, but keeping the water within her peripheral.
Oh Great One, what have we done? What does this mean?
The silvery mare wasn't all entirely sure if they were running to their deaths or not, but she did hope whatever lay at the end of this cursed water would answer their questions.

Daemyn | Olde Herd | Rook | Word count: 261
Since Jediah had raised his voice at the gentle giant, Daemyn had dropped his head low and pulled to the back of the gathering, blue fabric still dangling from his mouth. He was either unaware of it or held onto it as a security blanket. From time to time he'd nod in agreement or shake his head softly, but he never made an attempt to actually join the conversation. Among these much smarter horses he didn't feel that his clumsy thoughts had any place and he really didn't want the cousin-adviser to raise his voice again. Daemyn caught the movement of the strange red water out the corner of one eye and startled, nearly shooting off into the woods. It took a moment for him to realize that is was not another massive wave rising up to was them all away, but rather much smaller tendrils worming through cracks in the earth. The others were clearly aware too and just as mystified as he, and as Daemyn lifted his head he finally felt the remnant of shock slipping out of his mind. These tendrils finally gave them something to do. While he couldn't understand what or why, at least now he had something to follow, something to act on instead of standing still and silent. As Nefertiti took off in a canter, so did he, following swiftly behind. Maybe at the end of this red trail there would be answers, oh how he hoped there would be answers! For the first time on this trip he felt a sting of excitement.

All the yelling was making the young mare only cross, What's the point in yelling at each other when all that's going on almost killed two herd-mates! The mare growled to herself, none of this made sense but Jediah was quickly losing the young mare's favor- Jekyll was quickly gaining it with his level headedness, bless the calm one. "By the Unicorns themselves!" Janice gasped as she watched the tendrils crawl through the earth, she was frightened. Oh so frightened, but at the same time... She was intrigued with a snort the mare took off after Jediah, Nefertiti and Daemyn, scared about what was actually going on. Curse or not this in now way seemed to be in accord with the natural order. Why is it heading east? The mare asked herself as she ran, with her unusual quick speed she quickly passed the other two and came in next to Jediah, "Jediah!" She hollered over the wind, "What do we do? It's heading towards the cliffs!" She shrieked wondering how this was going to work out.

Sparowanel | Rook | WC: 252
The rook was pleased he had at least one thing right, and yet that didn't seem to be enough. With a heaving breath of relief, gaze continued to travel about the others present, wondering what would happen next. Were they going to set off immediately? And then, just like that, they were being lead along once more. Jediah's exclamation drew Sparrow's attention, and the poor horse jolted to see the red rivulets of water sneak through the earth, moving rapidly off in another direction. Whole body shuddered, and he needed no one to tell him that wasn't natural. When would the water be restored, and they could be done with this scarey red liquid? Surely there could have been another way to let them know things needed changed... One by one the others set off after the water, swiftly. With a deep breath to steady himself, the young stallion took off as well, clumsily at first with fatigue but settling into a stride he was comfortable with. He would keep up, and he would help as best he could. So far he had been able to add nothing, only detract from their entire purpose...but he was determined to set that to rights. And there could be answers, the solution to the red, magical waters that had tried to take he and Daemyn away. There could be a way to put everything back to rights. Oh, he wished there was, and it didn't involve any more harm to the Olde herd members.

Jekyll l Adviser l Olde Herd At this point, he knew that Jediah had probably spoken the truth about the Great Compromiser. Did the almighty unicorn really loathe those who sympathized with the enemies? Jekyll didn't really care for the Exile Herd, though he couldn't just stand by seeing parents ripped from their children. War brings death. Isn't that inevitable? I'm acting like there's possibly a way to protect the weaker ones. It's tragic, but...I must protect the Olde Herd at all costs. I can't care for those who die in the Exile Herd. I am one of the Olde Herd members, not an Exile Herd member. Perhaps I understand Jediah's annoyance at sympathizers now. Still, are we doing the right thing? What if this contains a different message? Jekyll swallowed, unable to comprehend what his true feelings were. Still, it wasn't the time to become more self-aware. By now, it was obvious that the crimson liquid had been caused by some sort of magic-and powerful magic, at that. Were they finally getting to the cause of this? Or were they only at the beginning? Jekyll huffed in astonishment, seeing rivulets of blood-red water seeping through the ground. Only unicorns had this unimaginable power, right? "Jediah's right," Jekyll finally spoke, following the others and examining the water suspiciously. "I'm sure only the Great One's powers could cause something like this to happen. We must protect the Olde Herd at all costs, no matter what happens." Jekyll believed he was doing the right thing, but was he really? Were they just being led to their demises now? Word Count: 261

Daemyn | Olde Herd | Rook | Word count: 412
The normally slow stallion threw all of his careful nature aside, thundering alongside the tendrils of red water, trying to keep up with them as they wormed through cracks in the ground. He zig-zagged through the pale trunks of trees, throwing up clumps of earth from where his huge hooves dug into the soft soil. His massive sides rose and fell rapidly with each quick breath, nostrils flared and ears pinned forward. He no longer doubted that the red water was caused by magic and there could only be one source in his opinion: The Unicorns. He was also convinced that the aggressive red water was a warning and a reminder of where the Olde loyalty should lie. He would support Jediah in reporting the strange phenomenon and how to deal with it, but for now all of his focus was on following the trail. He didn't consider even once that they could be led to danger. A slight clearing in the white trunks came up ahead, a wide spread of rock within. Daemyn slowed down a tad to cast a glance at Jediah before sucking in a sharp breath, approaching regardless of what the cousin-adviser would say. Or yell. Daemyn's blue eyes grew wide as the water flooded across the stone platform and sank into etchings he hadn’t noticed. "That's us! " he said in a breathless whisper, blue cloth still between his teeth, before realizing he was wrong. No, that was not the symbol of Olde, but one could not fault the slow stallion for thinking so. After all, it was a circle with spiraledhorns. He stepped closer still, hooves almost touching the stone, dropping his head low to smell the rock, the water, the glowing symbol. If there had been any doubt about the red water's origin, then this had to put it to rest. It had to be magical. The large palomino lifted his head and swung it around to look at the group. He swallowed, throat suddenly dry. He felt a slight touch of fear and excitement which he could not explain. "What is this? " he asked them all, trying to keep calm although the foal in his heart was leaping with joy. Maybe this was a sign that the Unicorns would return? All they had to do was to clear the land of sympathizers. That had to be it, but Daemyn wasn't confident enough to share his thoughts. So he gawked at the others and waited.

Jumping through trees and weaving her way, Nefertiti tried her best to keep pace with Jediah and the head of the rushing water. It was hard keeping her eyes on all the things going on around her, and she hoped these cursed tendrils wouldn't lead them spilling off a cliff. The mares worried eyes fell on their groups leader for a second, her mind filling with questions to ask, before she looked back forward to the clearing they were bounding towards. Leaping up in a slight rear she halted herself with a small skid on her flanks before standing up again to her full height.
Her heart hammered against her chest as she saw the crimson liquid crawl its way of the rock face, filling in the symbols that were once hidden upon it. It looked to be the symbol of Olde at first, as the familiar etching of the horn caught her eyes, but then it wasn't. It appeared to be two horns now, and the ring was almost snake like? What could that mean? was it a curse? Looking to Daemyn as he spoke, the small mare's eyes reflected both fear and questioning.
"Jediah, You know much more about the unicorns than I... Does this mean anything?" The dainty mare asked in a burst between heaving breaths. Her fear and the run had taken a lot out of her this early in the morning, and it was starting to show.

Jediah had hurried after the moving water with all the energy he had left, and with the adviser's poor condition it had been a rather harsh blow on his lungs. When he came to a halt like the rest of the small group, he heard Daemyn say something. It caused his gaze to follow the other's upwards to where their focus lay. Then, he was met with a sight that sent a shock through his body like being thrown in an ice cold lake in the middle of winter. Momentarily taking his breath away, he continued panting automatically but stayed frozen in shock with eyes wide open. This. This confirmed everything he had told the others until now but somehow the reality of it left him awestruck. So much so, that he could barely hear the voice of Nefertiti above his own raging thoughts. Somewhere, he registered it and was glad that someone recognized his knowledge of their faith. Without taking his gaze away from the symbol, he spoke in an aghast exhale. "The unicorns" he felt his heart pound in his chest as he spoke, unable to rip his eyes away. "This is the symbol of their great kind, our own stems from it... Do you know what this means?" He managed to look around the group with alert eyes that were swimming with thoughts, "this is their doing. This is the ultimate proof that the unicorns haven't been lost forever!". He flicked his focus back to the symbol, and mere seconds later folded his right leg beneath him to humbly bow to the sign given to them. "Oh great one.." He whispered under his breath.
