Kaiser trotted along the old path he had always used when he headed to the outland marsh. Usually he would go on his own accord but today was a different story. Khazada, whom was new to the guard status as far as he knew, asked about how to fight and spar in lieu of the war the was happening. Kaiser agreed knowing her rank as a guard meant she had to know how to not only protect herself from Bachelor savages; savages that wouldn't care what they had to do to get the job done. 'The ends justify the means' rattled in the large stallion's head. He knew soon enough he would have to face his past, and deal with it, but that did not mean he had to like it one bit. As the duo finally reached the edge of the march Kaiser began speaking, wondering himself how he had stayed quiet for so long, "Now what exactly did you want to learn, lass?" He asked turning to the mare while waiting for a reply.

Khazada seemed to enjoy the silence that had passed between the pair as she fell only a step or two behind the other larger stallion. It gave her time to think as she knew at this point she was not ready to get into a fight with one of the Bachelors, not yet. Which in turn forced her to step out of her shell and ask another for training. The whole thought of facing a Bachelor still sent shivers up her spine as the thought crossed her mind but the draft cross only tried to shake it off and instead focus on the trail ahead of her. However hearing Kaiser's question this only made Khazada flick one of her ears over at him as it seemed with all her worrying, she hadn't thought about that.
"As much as you can show me." Khazada finally answered, her tone a bit soft and she cringed inside as still she found herself acting more shy around Kaiser then she should have. Lifting her head and trying to sound more casual, she added, "I want to be able to defend myself against one of those brutes. So how do I defend against them?" Khazada asked, stopping in her stride to face the other stallion. She didn't know much of Kaiser's past but still as she looked at the two 'X' marks that scarred his face, she didn't want to imagine how he received them as no doubt they were the mark of a Bachelor.

"Well you need to realize something a bit more important than how to fight them, because they are us. We are no different besides in our beliefs and the morales we practice. I was one of them 'brutes' for a long time, they know no other way but the one they have been taught. They aren't 'them' they are us." Kaiser said a bit loudly and grumbly, she probably didn't realize how sheltered the members of the herd were but that wouldn't mean Kaiser wouldn't enlighten her. He felt bad for being harsh so he continued on quickly to lighten the mood hoping his point was received.
"First thing you need to learn are what you can use to your advantage in a scuffle. Things you can use to aid you are your height, speed, weight, and most importantly your terrain." Kaiser said quickly lightening up quickly and beginning to get excited, he loved being around others and teaching was always fun. "Terrain is the key in my opinion, knowing it can help a bit but if you can take it in fast and make a quick plan then even better," He said quickly looking around and grinning after he saw what he was looking for. "See those rocks?" He asked as he trotted toward the mound of flat rocks the edged the marsh, motioning for the mare to follow.

The words that came out of the stallion's mouth about the Bachelor had Khazada looking a bit taken back as she never heard those words before. How in the world could /they/ be like us? Her mother had no kind words for that herd and no doubt that opinion was passed on to her, but what Kaiser said seemed to challenge what she always had thought of that herd.
However she pushed the questions that aroused, to the back of her mind before pricking her ears forward to catch what Kaiser was saying. She gave a small nod or two as he listed off what could be used to aid her though when terrain was brought up, she gave a side glance around her. Of course! Why hadn't that crossed her mind? "I'm guessing you can use those for some kind of advantage?" Khazada asked as she broke into a trot after Kaiser, towards the rocks he had indicated.

Kaiser was extremely please that the mare hadn't decided to argue on the point, instead allowing it to drop. 'Thank goodness' he thought thinking it would have most likely been a bad idea begin an argument with her. Pointless really, he had lived there so he most likely knew more about it than most others who only knew what they had heard.
"Exactly!" He said with a grin continuing towards the rocks, "Let me show you," Kaiser spoke as he and Khazada approached the rocks. The day was perfect for this type of exercise in the stallion's opinion, sunny and warm but a good breeze to keep one's self cool enough in the warm air. Once they were a few feet from the rocks Kaiser keyed it. "You can use rocks like this!" He said quickly as he was running full speed, bolting up onto the rocks he spun and came back at the mare. Flying the the air landing next to her hard, stirring up some of the water that had gathered into a puddles on the marsh. "Rocks give you more height, we're already tall but from a high point like that we can see what's going on around us and then strategically decide where we are needed. The hard part is getting use to the falling sensation, it scares almost everyone the first time." He said softly standing next to the mare motioning to the rocks and the side areas around them in correspondence with what he was saying.

Khazada couldn't help but to watch Kaiser in awe as she never though of such a trick. She gave a snort, looking at the rocks from another perspective before she stole another look around her. "Here, I want to try." Bobbing her head some, she launched forward, racing towards the stones just as the stallion previously done. She was forced to jump before tripping over one stone, though in her mind she couldn't help but to wonder how he made it look so easy. Shaking her head, she skidded to a stop once she reached the top though she paused as she looked around them. Khazada couldn't help but to smile as she looked back down at Kaiser. However her smile faltered when she looked down as she wasn't so keen to just jump off like he had done, at least not now.
But if she was going to get good at this, she had to try. Taking a few deep breath through her nostrils, she backed up a step or two. Having picked the spot the land, Khazada pushed herself into a sprint before she was forced to jump. Folding her front legs tightly against her chest, she pushed herself off the rock and felt such a thrill as she felt herself falling, just as Kaiser had mentioned. However it was almost exhilarating as she landed neatly on the ground near the stallion. "That...that was kinda fun." Khazada admitted with sheepish smile over at Kaiser.
"Mind if I ask you something?" Khazada finally wanted some kind of answers to the questions he had brought up earlier and maybe this would be a good time to ask.

Kaiser smiled as he watched the mare atop the rocks. She seemed to freeze for a moment realizing the height at which she was at, thankfully she did try the jump and even stated that it was fun, "Its the rush of adrenaline you get from the jump lass," He said with a soft chuckle looking around the marsh for other things that he could use to help her learn how to manipulate what was around her. He enjoyed this, teaching it made him feel extremely happy to be useful.
As he looked around noticing his bearings. There were trees, and a deeper pool of water a ways off, "Lets head over to those trees," He said with a smirk as he motioned for the mare to follow him. A plan was already forming in his head as they moved towards the willows. Hearing the mare speak he wondered what she could want to ask him, "Of course you can, you already did, did you not?" He said with a chuckle.

Giving a small bob of her head, Khazada fell in step beside Kaiser, putting both ears forward curiously as she wasn't sure what use those trees could be in a fight. But already she was learning quite a lot from Kaiser and she was grateful for it. Maybe she would be ready to take on another opponent to protect herself and their herd. And actually have a much better chance of winning.
Gathering her thoughts, the mare glanced over at the large stallion before finally asking her questions. "You mentioned you were once a Bachelor." The mare began, seeming to be careful with the words she said. "If you were in that herd, why did you leave?" Khazada asked, seeming to want to know his answers as compared to what she had been told of the other herd. "Are they...as...barbaric as the other horses claim?"

The sun was shining down on the marsh, selecting off the water and the smooth rocks it held. The slight breeze ruffled the stallion's mane and it made him smile. The green was bright on the vegetation, though none of it was usable for the here's food source sadly. Upon hearing the mare speak he turned his head to watch her as she spoke, she almost seemed nervous that she might anger him as she spoke of his old home.
"That I was," Kaiser said softly slowing to a wall wanting to ponder how to answer her questions. This was a part of his past and a bit personal but he didn't mind the idea of talking with her. Who could she tell? "I didn't leave lass, I was chased out by my father and other Elites. I had a... Degenerate factor they did not appreciate. That and non-procreation relationship at the time." He added with a chuckle. Before frowning, "They are barbaric in nature but not as much as people make the out to be. Many are extremely caring and are just oppressed there but there is hope for it but just not yet sadly." He said shaking his head softly.

Khazada stopped as well to listen to the stallion's answer to her previous questions though his answers weren't what she expected him to say. She tilted her head slightly as she seemed to ponder what she heard. Was he really right? Maybe for a stallion they weren't all that bad but for a mare? Still Khazada felt uneasy about the whole thought.
However she shook her head to release the sudden tension in her neck before facing Kaiser again. "Would you go back to them?" Khazada couldn't help but to ask though she cringed some as maybe she was pestering the stallion too much and asking questions that really didn't concern her. "Of course you don't have to answer." The mare added rather quickly, giving a dismissing swish of her tail as if to erase her previous question in case she was overstepping her boundaries.
Averting her gaze away from Kaiser, she once more glanced back towards the trees, giving a small breath as the last thing she wanted to be was a bother with her questioning. Khazada had come here to learn how to properly defend herself, not to dive into this other equines past but somehow she felt curious about it.

Kaiser froze at her question, and it wasn't even the fact that he didn't have an answer it was how he had to explain that 'yes I want to go back and become the leader and rule over all of them with minimal social reforms.' How could he say that correctly without Khazada wondering what was wrong with him. Looking out a bit he saw they were only a few feet from the willows and he watched them as their branches swayed in the wind as though the were dancing to an unheard song. She said that he didn't have to answer but he would; what wrong could it do to tell her what he wanted?
"Yes, someday I do wish to return. Though it would be under extensive circumstances lass," He said softly with a small snort shaking his head to try to show that portion of the conversation was over. "Now back to business," He said as he began trotting towards the trees, "Trees can provide cover, which is necessary if another horse has a gift and can either use it to attack or turn invisible, those low hanging willow branches will let you know if there is something there, Now when I say cover I don't mean go an hide behind a damned tree unless you are seriously injured or trying to protect a foal; which at all costs in my opinion no matter what if their is a foal or youngling you should protect it at all costs whether or not it's from a mare in our herd or another. It is an innocent life and deserves no sight of what this war or even a Bachelor raid could give." Kaiser spoke smoothly, only getting disgruntled when he brought up procedures for when a foal is found on the battlefield.

Go back? Why in the world would you /want/ to go back to /them/? Khazada gave a confused look at the stallion's reply but seeing he was clearly done speaking about it, she let it go and instead focused her attention back on the trees. However when Kaiser brought up protecting a foal, she gave a short nod of her head as that should be instinct for a equine though she hoped she'd never have to find a foal within battle.
Taking a few steps forward, she lifted her head, looking up at the trees before she gave a snort. However as she watched the branches gently sway in the light breeze, she seem to get another idea how to use them. Flicking her ears forward, the draft mare glanced back at Kaiser. "Could you also use them to shake of a charging enemy? Like swerving around trees will definitely slow one down before spinning back on them?" It sounded like a fair idea to her though she new she was no where as agile and swift as the smaller built horses but she was sure she could manage such a trick if she had to. However she kept her gaze on the stallion if he had anything to add to her idea.

"Absolutely!" Kaiser said with a grin, more than happy the mare was gaining her own idea on battle strategies. "Now come on, to the water we go!" The stallion said with a wrin before making his way over to the marsh's lake, deciding to explain what their goal was with the water before they got there. "Now, I am not sure where the next battle might be but there is a chance it could take place near water. Now fighting on land is one thing, but fighting in water with or without a current is a whole new ball game and is not as easy to get use to. Which is why I am taking you to the water to see how good you are in it." He said nodding to himself as he spoke.
Upon reaching the water the stallion jumped in, knowing it only came up to his mid-stomach, "You getting in lass?" The stallion called wondering if the mare knew how to swim.
OOC: I am so, so, SO sorry for the late reply hun! Life decided to take over! :c

For probably the first time that day, Khazada looked a bit unsure of the whole aspect of water. It was no secret it was her lease favorite element and no doubt the whole idea of stepping in it was not sitting well with her. However she tried her best to mask her uneasiness as she listened to Kaiser explain his plan. However once her eyes fell on the water, her stride shortened quite a bit before she stopped only a hoof's distance away from the wet substance. Snorting, Khazada lowered her head to examine it and gave another snort as she shook her head.
"You really think we'll have to fight in water?" She asked, her uneasiness with the whole idea beginning to leak into her words. She couldn't stand water, even with how big she was and so of course she didn't know how to swim, well if she needed to. Khazada was sure she'd be fine but still, the mare gave another reluctant breath before she finally lifted her gaze and looked at Kaiser. "Maybe I forgot to mention something..." She lowered her head again and lifted a hoof to paw at the water but stopped short of touching it.
"Water and I, well...we don't exactly get along." Khazada finally admitted, though she felt rather embaressed about the whole thing as any gaurd should be fearless with such a thing.
OOC: No worries. I understand how that all goes. <3
