{ Akira }
"She should be here by now...we promised...we promised we would meet each other here today. Though it was many years ago...maybe...maybe she's forgotten..." A hard as she tried to keep them at bay with her faith in her adopted sister, Akira couldn't hold off every creeping thought that something had gone wrong. "Lynnie would never forget...ever..." Sighing softly, the young buckskin mare curled her front legs beneath her and allowed her thin frame to rest in the tall grass of the meadow, taking in the sweet floral scent carried by the breeze. So many memories...when her mother was still alive, she used to bring her and Lynnie here to this peaceful place. While the two younglings would laugh and give chase, Meira would stand by with that rare smile on her face watching them attentively, always on the lookout for signs of the bachelors in case they needed to take shelter. It was one of the only times the exhausted mother could catch her breath and simply appreciate her two little blessings she'd been given.
It was oddly quiet that afternoon, the sun at its peak in the sky as Akira lay there waiting. It was somewhat unsettling that she hadn't seen any bachelors at all, though after the war she was certain they probably had more pressing matters at hand, which gave the buckskin an opportunity to relax since they were less concerned with rounding up mares at the moment. She had so much to tell her sister...the trip from the mysterious fourth island certainly hadn't been a piece of cake. Not to mention she couldn't even begin to wrap her mind around the events that had happened there...with Miraphy...and the unicorns. It hadn't been the first time the loners had discovered something first before any of the herds, but...what could it all mean...?
"Aralynne...where are you...?" she mused once more, her expression creased with worry. What if something had happened on the journey to the Summer Fields? She would never be able to forgive herself if Lynnie fell into danger due to a childish promise...

[ ~Aralynne~ ]
"I'm coming! I'm coming!" Aralynne panted to herself as she darted across the vast expanse of the Summer Fields. This place still gave her the chills. . . after the battle, she doubted any other horses felt to the contrary. This place was haunted by the ghosts of those fallen. Taking a deep breath and trying not to concentrate on what would inevitably pull her into a mad panic, the mare instead focused on what was about to happen. . . Akira! Her heart sang happily simply at the thought of her beloved sister's name. Soon! Oh so soon they would be reunited!!
Though she didn't believe in the unicorns as religiously as the rest of her herd, she found herself praying now that Akira would have remembered this day. It had been no easy task for the Healer Mage to slip away from the herd, and crossing a landbridge was practically unforgivable, but with Olde still regrouping after the battle, she was sure her "journey to gather herbs" had been enough for most who asked questions. It would be a fast visit, and another long journey to return home, but it would be worth it. Akira would always be worth it.
As she ran, the sights became more and more familiar, and the trees flashed back memories of two young fillies chasing each other 'round and 'round in circles with a dark mare watching over with warm, protective eyes. And then, the shape took life, real form, her golden body resting in stark contrast with the summer grass. "Akira!" her voice cried with joy, tears leaping instantly into her eyes. "Akira!" Aralynne leaped forwards, joy bringing a new energy into her step.

{ Akira }
"Akira!"
The sudden familiar squeal nearly toppled the poor buckskin as she lay there among the tall grass. She...she remembered...she really remembered...! It had been such a beautiful morning when the two sisters had made up their mind to go their separate ways...and had promised with all their heart and soul to meet at this spot exactly three years from that day. They'd even hoof promised...such a silly child's game. Yet, it meant more to Akira than anything. How could she have ever doubted one of her best friends?
The memories immediately brought hot tears to the buckskin mare's eyes as she lept to her feet and spun to face the incoming equine. "Lynnie?! Lynnie!!" she cried out, leaping forward to meet her sister as fast as her thin legs would carry her. They'd both grown so much...they looked so different, yet the same. Lynnie still had those gorgeous blue eyes, and her elegantly curled mane and tail had only grown to beautifully long heights, which reminded Akira of her mother and how lengthy she used to keep her hair... This, this is why she loved Lynnie so. Neither time nor even war could keep them apart forever.
Lunging forward, she quickly curled her long neck around her sister's, pulling her close and trying to stifle the tears that poured down her cheeks. "Lynnie...y-you came....! You came..." were the only words she could manage to murmur over and over again, her normally smooth voice choked by uncontrollable sobs. It had truly been far too long.

The moment she saw Akira leap to her feet and run in her direction, Aralynne lost control of her happiness. Just seeing the tears in her strong sisters eyes, how her sides rocked with exuberant sobs, it made her drop her guard, feeling like no time had passed between them at all. She was tall, so tall! As the beautiful buckskin wrapped her neck around the paler mare in a hug, Lynn tucked her head into her sister's chest as she had so many times when they were little. Akira had always been there to protect her, to make her feel safe and secure. . . nothing had changed at all.
"O-Of course I came!" she spluttered around the tears, closing her sky-colored eyes tightly and allowing the water to fall freely. Oh how she had missed her! A gaping piece of her soul was automatically filled when she was around her, and piece of her found complete in her sister's loving embrace. It took another long while before Aralynne could speak, and she let herself revel in the excitement, the completeness. She was completely at ease here, not worried or concerned with trying to hide her feelings or her thoughts! Here was someone that would always love her, no matter what. "Akira, my heart sings! I- I've missed you so... more than I can say!" She pulled back, the sparkling tears still tugging at the corners of her crystal eyes. "Tell me EVERYTHING!!!"

{ Akira }
"Everything?! Oh Lynnie, I don't know where to even begin...!" Akira sobbed joyfully, flinging her head back and tossing her raven-colored mane from one side to another, "How are you? Is everything well with the Olde? I was so worried about you! W-with the war...and oh I'm just glad you're safe!" Pressing her buckskin forehead against the paler complexion of her adopted sister, she clenched her eyes shut and was content to merely take a few breaths to calm herself. "There's...so much. You wouldn't believe what I've seen! I've explored nearly all of the East Isle. It's been...well nearly hell with those bachelor brutes at every turn, but worth it just to see them squirm a little when I get in their business," she chuckled, a glint of mischief in her chocolate brown eyes, "And the mysterious isle...I don't know if you've heard, but Ba'Yagu...she came to us Loners. She gathered us all together and took us on this journey to...to a new island. You wouldn't believe it. You wouldn't believe...what was there..."
At her last sentence, her eyes widened with excitement though also a bit of fear. "I wasn't sure what to think...I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that there's a fourth island at all. B-but enough about me! I'll tell you more when I know that everything with your herd is alright. I-I heard Vasska won...the bachelors are on edge more than ever though it seems. H-have you heard from Q? Or Nivinara, how is she and the baby? It's been ages since I was last in contact. All I have is the rumors that the Loners can scrounge up." The words just seemed to fall out of the mare's mouth with such an ease, it surprised her. Around other equines...she always had to be quiet, cautious...ready to take flight at any moment. No one could be trusted. The wall surrounding her mind and heart was always there, keeping everyone at a distance for her own protection. But now...here was Lynnie, the one equine she could pour out her heart's desires to and it wouldn't matter. She could trust her...and Akira hadn't realized how much she had missed and needed to trust someone...until now that she had the opportunity.
