Unexpected Company
A Roleplay Between
Elesette's Pippin and Ginger-Goddess's Elona
Fall of the Year 401
[Elona//Aphellion Unseelie//Mare]
The air was thick and heavy with moisture as Elona wandered amongst the ancient trees. It was a phenomenal feeling, the ability to stand in a place that had existed far longer than she had. The little paint had spent much of her childhood running through this very forest, playing with other fillies and colts. She closed her eyes, drinking in the silence of the evening as she lost herself in her memories. This forest had been the first place she had tapped into her gift alone. Smiling slowly, she began clearing her mind, allowing the magic to wrap around her her like a warm blanket, covering her perception of the world in it's welcoming embrace. Tonight was the night, she could feel it in the very core of her being. For years she had been able to feel the presence of death..the empty feeling of a body after it's spirit had left. She'd even grown accustomed to hearing the whispers and murmurs of those long gone... But tonight was going to be different. Recently she had noted that her gift was stronger once the sun had dissipated over the horizon, and the unicorn mare was ready to test the limits of that strength.
Humming an old tune she'd learned as a child, she reached out with her mind, listening intently for the whispers that had become all too familiar. Everything was quiet, to quiet for a moment. The silence made the mare uneasy as she focused her attention on the dead. Where were they? Sighing heavily, she released her focus, only to have the whispers and murmurs flood over her like a wave. Thanks a lot...real helpful there... She thought, snorting heavily. Apparently tonight wasn't going to be the night. Frustration seemed to run through her veins, replacing the silver blood that kept her alive as she began trekking further into the forest. Maybe something good could come out of this evening yet.
