Warm rays of sun filtered across the Eastern Isle, the call of songbirds echoing in the distance while the herd of Bachelors grazed in the morning light. Among the many horses lay a slender grullo mare, her blue eyes locked on the horizon while her ivory mane and tail rippled in a gentle breeze. The Brood couldn't help but heave a sigh, letting a small smile crease her lips. It was the bright mornings like these that kept the mare going each day. With a hardy snort the Brood staggered to her feet and shook out her grullo coat, turning her head to nip off dry blades from her croup before shuffling off a bit to find a solitary place to graze.
Though she usually would've gone farther, she wasn't in the mood to be chastised for 'wandering off' from the herd. Instead she simply trotted a few steps forwards and halted, lowering her slender neck to allow her teeth the tear at the dewy grass. Rylynn grazed peacefully, her tail gently swishing in the wind while occasionally pausing to listen to songs the birds would sing to one another, inwardly envying their elegant voices. "The beautiful devils." She'd call them teasingly, knowing that even though they were beautiful to listen to, they were quite sassy when stumbling upon one.

Ryan was making his way across the vast herd, nodding to stallions and a few broods that crossed his path. The buckskin walked up the hill a small ways and looked around at the herd. He noticed a grullo paint mare that stood up, the action catching his attention. He also noticed she was on her own. Seeing no other mare to stallion to bother he decided to talk to the mare. A grin graced his lips as he cantered down the hill, when his hooves hit the earth the ground would shake under his weight. He loved the feeling it left in his limbs as they connected to the earth. Changing gaits down to a moderately slow walk he walked up to the brood. Now being this close Ryan could see that the brood was Rylynn.
She looked peaceful, Ryan's grin dropped to a smirk as he moved so he stood right in front of her. "Hello." He said to her, he was in the mood to annoy the brood. After all no real harm would be done, she was only a brood. "What a beautiful say isn't it?" he asked and tore his eyes off of her to look around at the beautiful blue sky and the rolling green hills. "Rylynn right" he asked trying to get a feel for how she was feeling. The stallion looked back to her as he awaited an answer.

Rylynn stood alone, peacefully, for quite sometime, enjoying the soft breeze in her mane and listening to a murmur of voices from her herd. At times like this, it was hard to stay focused on her surrounds, instead she would think about where she had traveled recently and who- if anyone- had come with her. Occasionally she'd think about about her appearance, what she looked like in the eyes of others, what her mane would be like short, or what it'd look like with flowers woven into like other mares. It was only when she heard the sound of approaching hooves did she come out of her daydreams and perk her ears. With a blink, the blue-eyed mare glanced up at the large stallion, slowly raising her head when he spoke.
"Hello." She replied calmly, dipping her head to the Scavenger. Curiously, the Brood followed his gaze and let her eyes wander across the never ending blue sky and vast green hills that stretched from one end of the East Isle to another, it was beautiful. "Yes, it is. Gorgeous, if you ask me." Rylynn sighed, slowly lowering her gaze back to the stallion. "Yup. And you're... Ryan, yes?" The Brood questioned, almost one hundred percent positive that was his name. Oddly, Rylynn was quite good with remembering names and faces, in fact after matching a name to a face it was almost impossible for the mare to forget after that. "Is there something I can help you with?" Rylynn then asked, now curious as to why the stallion had approached her.

The corners of the draft's mouth tugged upwards into a sly smile. "Why yes, thats me, Rylynn." He said still trying to figure the mare small out, as she probably was with himself. His pale green eyes searched the light blue sky for a moment and slowly fell back on her as she asked him if he needed something. "Oh no, nothing at all. I just wanted to tell you that you looked more radiant than the sun. But if that bothers you to much I can tell you other things." He said and looked at a group of mare talking to one another gossiping about the herd. ".. Because you obviously have so much stuff to do." He said, not even looking at the grullo mare. He knew for most other mares they would become defensive with that comment and start to rattle of their issues with the herd. Ryan didn't care much he would mostly just laugh and walk away after they started talking, just to anger them more.

[Wow okay, I'm so sorry for the late/short reply, I've clearly been lacking the skill to reply to things lately. I feel so bad for making you wait this long, holy crap /.\ School is almost over for me so I promise I'll be replying more regularly]
Inwardly relieved the mare nodded, glad that she hadn't mistaken him. She hated not knowing names. It always led to awkwardness. Suddenly, at his comment, the grullo mare gave a little smile and flicked her tail, "Thank you, Ryan." She replied softly, giving a little smile before glancing over at the small group of mares his eyes rested on, eventually drawing her attention back on the spotted draft. "It doesn't bother me." At least not yet, that is. "Yes, I have piles of things to do. Grazing, and doing nothing, and then some more grazing, and maybe even a chastisement from one of the Infantry stallions." Rylynn snorted out, a clear tone of sarcasm and teasing in her voice. Suddenly the Brood gave a flick to her tail, that couldn't be all he wanted, could it? Stallions weren't really known for just walking up to Broods, let alone herself, and starting conversations with them.

(ahh sorry I wanted to finish rping the objectives before replying to this!)
Ryan smirked at the little mare. Her sarcastic talk amused him, "Well.." He started but stopped, pausing as he placed the words together and tried to figure out if it was a good plan. "If you would like I could take you on a walk." He said, looking over her at some mares that had been there only a few moments ago 'Damn broods sneaking out.' he thought. He turned his gaze and attention back down to her "Well sunshine?" he asked. "I mean unless you'd rather do other things." The draft said slyly to Rylynn. Soon night would begin to fall, and all the little broods would be expected to be tucked in tight till he first light of dawn.

[ No worries! I understand, I've been a bit caught up with objective stuff too lately. ]
As the large draft stallion mentioned taking her on a walk, Rylynn's eyes light up with joy. "Really?!" She gasped, a little smile creasing her pink lips, "Oh, that'd be great! I've been dying to stretch my legs. As long, of course, as you're okay with that." At her last sentence, she calmed her voice slightly, trying not to sound too desperate. But who was she kidding? Broods were always desperate to get out and away from the herd and would do anything to taste that sweet tang of brief freedom. Curiously, the mare followed his gaze as Ryan glanced over at a small group of mares, his stare hardening with clear displeasure when catching sight of them. She winced, feeling sorry for her fellow broods. If they had just been doing what she thought they were doing, she knew what it felt like to have cold eyes stare you down with disgust and anger. When he turned back, Rylynn perked back up, acting as if nothing had happened. Ignoring the nickname he spoke to her, and probably every other brood he sweet talked, the mare shook her head. "Oh no, I'd love to go on a walk." She smiled, her long ivory tail gently flicking.
