Scouting the field Private RPMapleTheMutt | Fay | Exile Equerry HeartUrchin | Twylla | Exile ScoutA Private Rp between Fay, an Exile equerry and Twylla, an Exile Scout. Fay wants to know what its like to be a scout so Twylla has agreed to show her the basics. Who knows what they could run into in the forest. This RP takes place a few days after the war. Twylla | Exile Scout Twylla stood quietly by herself at the edge of the herd, she sighed gently to herself and flicked an ear around. She hummed a gentle tune and snatched at the grass around her feet. Today she had offered to take a youngster out with her, to show her the ropes of scouting. Twylla raised her head as she heard oncoming hoof beats and she exchanged words with a guard passed by her. She snorted and went back to grazing, the youngster was not late, she gave a long yawn and lifted her nose to the wind. Nothing was alarming so she stood wandering around slightly, itching to get going.
She heard the fillies hoof beats and she turned in her general direction, flicking her fiery many from her face and looking towards the sound. The landscape before her was not as beautiful as the Olde, nothing would beat her childhood home. She fidgeted from foot to foot waiting impatiently and flicking her head, and pacing. It was her favourite pass time, pacing. she grimaced and clenched her jaw. But her demeanour changed when the filly was within a reasonable distance. "Fay?" she questioned lightly, flicking both her ears forwards and raising a brow.

Feya was only just getting used to herd life and getting up early. As a filly her parents would let her and her sister sleep in because she used to say sleep was good for foals. Now Feya was less of a foal and needed a bit more responsibility. 'i hope I'm not late' she thought to herself as she galloped across the field. It was her favourite thing, to run, and sometimes she was a bit to energetic about it. She spotted the grey mare at the top of a little hill at the edge of the herd. Her mane and tail look identical to fire in the wind and for a moment she looked like a spirit horse. she cantered up the hill and trotted around the mare before halting in front of her, slightly panting "hi! yes I'm Fay.. or Feya. What ever you want really. um- sorry if I'm late" she apologized and looked at the mare guiltily with a crooked smile. The mare was much larger than her but she didn't feel intimidated by her friendly violet eyes.

Twylla | Exile scout
Twylla watched the young filly bound towards her, she arched a brow and smiled warmly "Hello, Fay. I am Twylla - but call me Wyll." she snorted gently and motioned for the young filly to follow "You are not late, you are still early" she nodded gently. Wyl began to make her way up a little dirt track at a steady trot, "So Fay, what do you know about scouting? Do you know what we do?" she asked over her shoulder, she turned off the path and slowed to a walk picking her feet up and moving over some tree roots, Wyl dropped her head and sniffed around.
"Can smell ginger and mint" she muttered gently and nipped at some roots, pulling some ginger from the ground. she dropped them in front of Fay "So look this is ginger. Ginger can be used to settle stomachs, and ease pain. Mint is also used as an anti-sickness medication" she reeled off some other minor details about the things in front of them and snorted gently, picking up the herbs and placing them into a little pouch. She turned and carried on down the path "Now we look for a water source" She picked up the pace stepping high to avoid the roots and to avoid tripping. She slowed down and stopped at the little river for a drink.

Fay followed the mare along the worn dirt path, marked with many other hoof prints, up a slow stealing hill. "I don't really know that much.. All I know is you go out and look for places for the herd to migrate? Am I close?.." She asked, hoping she wasent totally off. Fay slowed down and stopped beside her as she sniffed at a strange smelling plant. Fay flatted her nostrils at it, bringing in the scent. "That's pretty strong. How do you know all that?" She asked curiously. The information rolled of Wyl's tongue like it had been rehearsed so many times before and it was basic knowladge now. She collected the herbs, gently plucking them with her lips and placed them in a little Satchel. Fay then picked up a trot and followed her to a gently trickling stream. She guessed she would be very thirsty later and drank up, licking the drops from her muzzle when they finished. The crisp water felt great against the hot sun.

Twylla | Exile Scout Twylla listened to the filly, about what her job entailed. she wasn't wrong "Sort of, we look for food, water and shelter. so yeah we look to migrate." She watched the filly look at the plants that laid before her, she lifted her head and looked around spying some lunar ravens and then dropping her head again but keeping a trained ear on them. "I know it, because I listen. Never stop listening - and once I had a very, very good teacher." she smiled as she turned away back to the river she allowed her feet to sink into the mud, she gave a gentle sigh and had to resist the urge to roll in it fully, she took a long drink and then moved through the water to the other side, hauling herself up over the small ridge on the other side. she stopped at the top and waited for Fay to catch up, the sun baked her pale coat and she shuddered in the sudden warmth spreading over her pelt "This way" she said and trotted off in another direction.
A large pasture unfolded before them, she snorted gently and walked cautiously down the little slope, looking around for other horses and trying to figure out if this patch of land belonged to anyone else. She walked into the centre and looked around "Big enough probably for the whole of us, and the wood probably has plenty of supplies and the river is not far off...good spot we found" she nodded and waited for Fay to fully catch up with her.

'Always listen' Fay made a mental note of her advise and trotted along to a muddy river bank. Fay frantically cantered across as she began to sink, gaining speed to climb up the bank. She welcomed the cold mud coating her legs and followed after Twyla into an open clearing. They stood under the shaded tree line looking into the sin baked field. The fluffy dandelions coaxed Faya and the little appalossa ran into the field, stirring up fluff as she went
