What Are You Doing Here?A Private Roleplay between corruptpudding's Snake and silmellon's Outlaw Time: After the battle between Olde and the Bachelors, when the Exiles are still on Bachelor lands. Snake was friends with Outlaw when they were younger and he missed the strangely marked stallion after he disappeared from the Bachelors. Even after trying to find out information on Outlaw's whereabouts, he comes up with nothing. Time goes on and Snake starts to forget him, but one day while out and about he comes across a familiar face among the Exiles. Snake and Outlaw meet up. Is it a good or bad reunion? The day was young, but for once Outlaw was awake at sunrise. The strangely marked stallion hadn't slept well the night before, he was quite preoccupied with many thoughts crowding his mind. Normally he could totally dismiss his head and fall out into a sleep like death, but for some reason he couldn't shake an uneasy feeling and was unable to sleep so much as a wink. As the sun slowly rose a bit higher in the sky, Outlaw stepped soundlessly through the tall grasses towards the beach to watch the sunrise, which was painting the once black night sky with the warm colors of early morning. The pale stallion was always more at ease when he was at the beach, maybe it was all the comforting memories he had there as a foal. The soft sea breeze lifted his mane and tail and a smile pulled at the corners of his lips. But despite the beautiful sunrise, Outlaw was lonely. The battle had left him drained, emotionally rather than physically. It was one thing to get a scratch and let it have a week to heal, but completely another to witness the field of battle and have the images playing back in your mind over and over again. And with very few horses he confided in as of yet in his not so new herd, he forced himself to keep it all contained. But he wasn't complaining at all, he just wanted someone there to talk to to keep his mind off it all. A seagull called to the sun as it peeked over the ocean horizon line, making the entire scene brighter already.

A bitterness had arisen within Snake the day he had lost the competitive spar with Brutus. Not at his partner, per say, as it wasn't exactly his fault they had been paired. No, it was Cain's. Of course he must have known Snake would lose, therefore securing his guard dog's place in the coming battle. Snake had wanted to join in the fray with a desperate drive to escape the mundane days of peace. He'd flirt, he'd scavenge, he'd sleep. Repeat. The war presented a chance for him to earn glory and respect! And Cain had squandered his chances of even witnessing the battle by pairing him with a partner of impossibly superior strength. However, after the battle was said and done and the wounded trailed wearily back to the center of their homeland to regroup and recuperate Snake began to question his initial fiery intentions to join in the fray. Some had lost their lives. Many returned with a haunted look looming behind their eyes and often separated themselves from the herd in a depressed stupor. What had really happened out there? His anger at losing the spar and his chance to prove himself morphed into fear. Maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to join the fight. He might loose more than just a little blood. At any rate, his herd mates had returned and tension was thick. Snake had managed to find himself plenty of trouble...err...entertainment to make up for his lack of participation with the battle. But now it was vital he partake in the survival of the returned herd. Up early as usual, he began his scavenging duties and kept a sharp eye out for any Olde spies that might be lurking within the Bachelor's territory. He scented the air and studied the hoof prints in the iron red soil, discerning old from new. From his position he assumed he was somewhere between the fallen city and the great pine. A sparse cover of conifers dotted the rolling hillsides and the scent of sap and small mammals filled his nose. As he trod alongside a spindly creek a faint outline amid the trees caught his attention. He squinted, narrowing his dandelion yellow eyes as the figure moved with swift precision, almost as if he knew the navigation of these lands well, but Snake couldn't be sure whether is was a fellow bachelor or not. Ears flat against his skull in suspicion, he skulked along behind the equine, keeping a safe distance between them. The sun was beginning to breach the horizon as he neared the shoreline, still stalking the suspicious character. He didn't seem to be carrying out any obvious scavenging duties, just walking, so who was he? The ocean breeze frisked off the salty water and brought the opposing equines scent to Snake's nose. He was a stallion for sure and something seemed irritatingly familiar about him...but the musky smell of fish and seaweed obscured it too much to be sure. The stallion didn't seem to notice Snake's presence as he stared off into the skyline and he took the opportunity to further his approach. The glinting red and orange of dawn glittered on the ocean's waters and reflected against the horse's coat, blazing against his mostly white fur. Snake squinted against the glare and in doing so his mouth dropped slacked with shock. Unusual dark stripes intermitted his snowy pelt. Could it possibly be? He'd disappeared for...what? two- maybe three years now? Just when he had begun to fade from Snake's memory- With a furious snort Snake charged at the trespasser, roaring at the top of his lungs to be heard against the crash of the ocean waves. "WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN?"A most unusual practice for the normally soft voice of the appaloosa stallion. His rage-filled glare broke into a grin as he neared his old friend. (He was still known as Ze'ev when they were friends and didn't take on the nickname Snake until about a year ago-his time- )

As the strangely marked Guard stared out at the water feeling reminiscent as ever, he couldn't help but think he heard hoofsteps behind him. But that was very unlikely since he was stealthy and it was very early...patrols would just be heading out at the current moment so there was no way they'd reach him yet. But still, he couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. Well, more watched than he normally felt. More than one pair of eyes was on him. A deep sigh lifted and felled his pale shoulders, the soothing scent of the ocean and all it's life going right to his head and relaxing him once more. As he stood there he allowed his mind to drift through his memories and thoughts, the positive ones for the most part. The negative feelings weren't welcome, as he'd gone on this walk to rid himself of them. Sea foam splashed up the stallion's dark legs as the morning waves crashed upon him, the sound almost if not more comforting than the view. Though as the ocean mumbled and crashed, he could've sworn he heard a familiar hoofsteps approaching at a quickening pace in his direction. It's too soft...and there's no way anyone would be this far this early. Well, unless they wanted to take a magical soul cleansing retrospective walk like me. the Guard snorted to himself, mocking his own cliche choice of talking a walk to relax. But suddenly a thundering voice boomed above the sound of the waves smacking the sand. A voice that Outlaw knew...one that he hadn't heard for years. The voice was a bit deeper than last he heard it, but still distinguishable for the Guard. It didn't take long for the voice to register within his mind, for he had been very used to hearing it every day as a young Bachelor. Whipping around on his heels, Outlaw's mane and tail whipped forward as if reaching forward towards his long lost friend. A wide grin spread across his face, his black tipped ears perked forward as he leapt through the sand in Ze'ev's direction.
"ZE'EV! IS THAT REALLY YOU?!" Outlaw called back over the sounds of their surroundings. Once the two reached each other, breathing heavily with exhilaration, he continued. "It's a loooong story that's actually pretty boring for the most part." sighed Outlaw. Then he tossed his head and pranced in place a bit with a whinny of happiness as the elation of meeting his old friend washed over him like a wave on the sand. "But your voice! It's gotten so much deeper! I wasn't as lucky." Outlaw said with a chuckle, bumping shoulders with the Appaloosa stallion. "How've you been? So much has happened lately and I haven't even seen you since before your 17th Year Ceremony." It was then that it hit him. He had been gone from the Bachelors for...around five years having left at twenty and being twenty five at the current time. Ze'ev had only been fifteen or so when he disappeared, and now from the looks of him he was a fully grown Bachelor. Outlaw couldn't wait to hear what Ze'ev had to say, maybe he managed to rub off on the younger stallion a bit.
