Snake II Bachelor II Scavenger It was nothing more than an average spring day for snake. The warm afternoon rays dappled the fields of rippling jade grass and bright butterflies flitted amid the grooves of flowers that sprawled across the valleys in accordance to the season, filling the air with the warm, sweet scent of growing things set the sound of birdsong and the joyful call of playful foals as they frolicked amid the new green world. But no, this was not Snake's average spring day. He didn't have time to partake in the warm celebration that came with the end of winter. He did not braid flowers into his mane and chase butterflies. He had work to do. And so he left behind the warmth and comfort of the familiar valleys to go in search of loners and other miscreants he could rob or capture in the name of his herd. Of course his first thought was, Why not try the dark ominous ruins first? He enjoyed the serenity and quite that came with wandering the crumbling structures in search of useful objects and lost horses, but it was also a maze of dangers. Predators, unstable buildings, rouge equines, and not to mention the likelihood that a horse could loose their way in that labyrinth if they weren't familiar with it's twists and turns all deterred the bulk of the herd from making it a regular vacationing spot. The crumbling stone spires seemed to be cast in a sort of eternal shadow. He swore that no matter how clear the sky might be, there always seemed to hang a flock of ominous dark clouds over the ruined range, casting them out of lights direct reach. He hesitated at the fringe of the ruins, peering past the net of shadows cast by the walls, had he heard something just then? He shook his head and plowed forward, careful as he walked across the trip-hazard rubble that littered the ground. Wait. He was certain he had something this time. The spotted stallion paused, standing as still as a stone while he trained his ears on the location of a distant sound...not the sort he usually herd in the desolate ruins. The stallions advanced more quickly, his curiosity piqued. Was someone else already here? After a few moments more of plodding along, he started picking up on details of the ruckus and it didn't sound good. The snarling of grass beasts sent a wave of uncertainty through his being. Perhaps the creatures had just cornered a deer or something? But no, of course it couldn't' be that simple. A horse's scream reached his ears and Snake surged forward, rounding a tall brick wall and coming to a halt atop an incline in the landscape, overlooking the scene and source of all the commotion. A stallion and foal, both of whom he vaguely recognized as bachelors, were facing off with a back of grass beasts. Brilliant.

Ron | Infantry | Bachelors What had started out as the simple task to babysit his daughter and a few other foals soon spiraled into chaos. Vashti, being the little mischief maker she was, had the brilliant idea to sneak off while Ron was not paying attetion. She talked Ron and a few other foals into playing hide-and-go-seek with her. By the time Ron had caught on to her little scheme, she was already half way to the city. Ron hastily left the other foals with a slave brood before he took off galloping after Vashti. Of course to her it was quite amusing. By the time Ron had managed to catch up with Vashti a small pack of grass beasts were stalking after them, driving them to the city and forcing them to try and navigate through the ruins as they made attempts to get away. Luck did not seem on their side, though. The grass beasts chased them down a road that was blocked off by old, rusted bodies of cars, impossible for Ron or Vashti to get over. Ron forced Vashti to get behind him the grass beasts drew closer. Her screaming and crying did little to help and only made his fustration grow. He felt himself panicking a little. "Shut up!" He yelled, glancing back to her, "crying won't help us, Vashti!" He then looked back to the grass beasts, lunging forward at one that dared move closer than the rest. They snarled and snapped their jaws. Vashti | Youngling | Bachelors Her plan had been to get away from her father while playing hide and seek and then sneak off to the city, a place she rarely had the opportunity to visit. At first the plan worked well - that is, until Ron caught on and came chasing after her. Vashti was determined to see the city nonetheless and continued to run and laugh as Ron yelled and tried to catch up. However when he finally did catch up to her, a small pack of grass beasts were hot on their trail. Uh oh. In her eight years of life she had thankfully not encountered grass beasts but she had certainly heard tales of them attacking equines and killing younglings like herself. The beasts had chased the father-daughter duo into the city, chasing them through the ruins until they came onto a road that had been blocked off by old, rusted bodies of cars. By this time she started to cry and she screamed at her father, who yelled at her to stop crying because tears wouldn't help them in this situation. But that was all she could do as a youngling, just cry and scream and hide behind her father, begging that he would save them from the big mean grass beasts. //

Snake II Scavenger II Bachelor
Backed against a wall of rusty old vehicles by the grass beasts, the two horses seemed to have little hope of escape. Snake, still safely unnoticed atop his overlook, considered his options. If he walked away now, he would certainly save himself some trouble and possibly his life. Besides, he could have sworn he recognized that filly as one of the more irritating younglings. Had they met? The filly was still screaming and the stallion lunged at an approaching grassbeasts, their distress evident. That many of the beasts certainly lowered their chance of survival. A sigh escaped Snake's lips. He had better get down there and help them. They were his herd mates after all and perhaps he would earn something for his troubles. In a half rear, the spotted stallion leaped towards the pack of predators, galloping down his incline and toward their ranks at full speed. The pack wasn't facing him, but as he released a piercing whinny, several of the canines turned their heads and stared with wide, glowing eyes at the charging equine. Snake was a lithe, fast horse, not built for the infantry, but he could usually manage to put his agility to good use. He dodged one way and another along the fringes of the pack, evading their nipping fangs and kicking out with his hind and forelegs in hopes of striking the wretched beasts. "I'll distract them while you lead the filly away!" Snake hollered, his usual soft tenor vanished due to necessity. He continued to gallivant around the pack, capturing their attention in hopes of leading them on a chase. He knew these ruins well and a plan surmised within his crafty mind. Their were plenty of pits and unstable buildings he could lead the creatures into.
