Little Bit of Happy A Private Roleplay between silmellon 's Outlaw and jeangal247 's Esterellita Time: About a week after the war Outlaw is down in the dumps and catches Esterellita's interest. Deciding to brighten his day, she attempts to strike a good conversation with him. Expect witty remarks, jokes, and a series of flirts from her end. How will Outlaw react? And what kind of relationship will this lead between the two? Esterellita was making her usually rounds around the Island. Which was, of course, just aimlessly wandering around and finding whatever adventure rose ahead. Her ears perked as they picked up the sound of water from a stream, she happily trotted up toward the sound upon realizing how thirsty she was. She eagerly dipped her dark muzzle into the water and drank. The cool water felt good on her dry throat, she snorted and chuckled at the ripple effect she made. Thinking she heard something, her eyes looked up, another horse was across on the other side, not much to think of him yet as far as she was concerned. The stream wasn't that wide, wide enough where she wasn't too worried if he suddenly decided to attack her though. The horse was probably about fifteen yards away, though Esterellita couldn't tell if the horse was a mare or a stallion. She snorted again and shook herself and swatted at a pesky fly with her tail before dipping her head again and drinking the water. A soft breeze blew through the land, causing the green grass to sway slightly. It was a nice sunny day, not too cloudy and not too sunny. The sun's rays warm as they laid on Esterellita's buckskin back and shined against her white markings. Whoever this horse was wasn't her concern right now and she continued to amuse herself by snorting into the water and creating more ripples. She smiled to herself and rolled her eyes, Oh Esterellita, when will you ever stop being amused at everything? she thought teasingly to herself. An idea suddenly came into her mind, and her smiled broaden, showing the white of her teeth and her blue grey eyes shined with excitement as she tilted her head at her reflection in the water.

Outlaw's head was clouded with a million questions demanding his attention, but one reigned supreme and carried the weight of the worry he seldom felt. Where would the Exiles go now? They couldn't trust the Bachelors, and the Olde weren't interested in helping them. The Southern Isle was recuperating, and couldn't support the entire herd yet. His hooves dragged through the dirt with every step, leaving small ruts in the ground. Outlaw had no idea where he was going, but he'd turn back if he felt he wandered too far. Only when the pale, strangely marked stallion reached a medium sized stream did he realize that his once black hooves and fetlocks were now a dusty brown. His somewhat muscular shoulders rose and fell as a sigh blew quietly through his nostrils. Great, thought Outlaw, I totally needed this to make the day even better. With that, he decided to just lower his head and let the water from the stream quench his thirst. After all, it was fairly warm that day and he had been walking for awhile. The sun was beating down on his coat, warming it and leaving him with a pleasurable feeling radiating through his body.
When he lifted his dripping muzzle from the stream, a scent on the breeze caught his attention. Scanning the area a bit upstream with warm brown eyes, he was able to spot the unfamiliar shape of a horse. It wasn't an Exile, that was for sure. They were too far away from the rest of the herd for that. Was this a Bachelor, coming to mock or chase him off? Outlaw's black tipped ears flicked backwards and he lowered his slightly romanized face closer to the water to stare at his reflection. Maybe the horse would miss him if he stood still and inconspicuous. The breeze pulled his forelock out of his face, revealing his other eye and scar to his own reflection. Outlaw tossed his head to move them back over once more before starting to walk upstream as quietly as he could manage.

(((ugh, sorry for the late reply, I didn't know you responded until now xD my bad, I'll be sure to look more often now))
Out of the corner of her eye, Esterellita saw the horse moving up stream. She moved her head to the side and watched the horse move up stream for a bit. She could see his markings better now that the horse was closer. At least she thought it was a he. It looks a little down...poor thing. Maybe it could use some cheering up, she thought with a grin. With this thought in mind, she spun around and walked off a bit from the stream, only to gallop at it and leap into it. Creating a big splash as she did so. Her head popped out of the water, causing her mane to fly back slightly. She sighed and leaned back as the cool water surrounded her. It was deep enough that it covered her back but she could swim slightly but her hooves would touch the bottom every now and then. Swimming upstream, she swam toward the horse who looked like he was trying to avoid any contact with anyone. "Buenas tardes señor!" She said when she had finally caught up to the horse, which she now determined was a stallion judging by his scent.
"So what's a horse like you doing out here all alone?" She asked politely and smiled friendly up at him as she kept swimming against the stream to keep up with him. The current wasn't strong so she could easily do so without tiring herself. She noticed he had a very interesting shape of face and she quite liked his striped black markings on his neck. It was unique in a nice way.

((It's perfectly alright haha <3 I usually reply really quickly so you can check when you want and it'll likely be there))
As the pale stallion moved upstream, he lifted his curved head a bit and tried to pick up his hooves higher as to not get them as dirty. Well at least I'm still protecting them...as long as I'm protecting them, nothing bad will happen, Outlaw thought to himself. It was as much comfort to him as it was affirmation of his loyalty to the Exiles. The poor soul had always believed that deep down, there was something inside him that was deeply depraved. Protecting, being a reliable friend, and loving others was a repose for his weariness. After all, how corrupt could someone be if their main goal was making sure others are safe and happy?
Suddenly he heard the very audible splash of someone jumping headlong into the stream. Outlaw's black tipped ears flicked forward as he whipped around to see what all the commotion was about. His one visible soft brown eye was bright with curiosity at the shape approaching him in the water which he determined to be a beautiful little mare. The language she spoke when she approached was known to him, but he wasn't fluent. Not in the least. The stallion fumbled for the right words of greeting to use for at least a second or two before the mare spoke again, but this time in his natural language. Stepping closer to the edge of the water, he lowered his head so the two were closer to eye level.
"I was just exploring, seeing what there was to see...and thinking." Then he once again raised his head for a moment to quickly survey the desolate area around them before returning it to where it was moments before. "It seems I got a bit far away." After he finished speaking, he gazed at her for a few moments. Even when she was wet from the stream, her dark gray mane framed her face perfectly, and her swirling white markings on her neck intrigued him. They were different, but in a good way. "What might your name be, ma'am?" He asked innocently, giving her a sweet smile though the thoughts in his mind were still a bit heavy. The stallion hadn't noticed this until just now, but he was so mesmerized by the stranger that he had stepped into the rubbing water too and it was now tugging at the end of his thick coal colored tail.

((Ah thank you. And oh my, I see Outlaw is taking a liking to Esterellita xD)) She gave a small smirk as she noticed the stallion stepped forward into the stream. If she were a siren she would already have him deep into her trap by now. She smiled kindly at him, "My name is Esterellita," her Spanish accent causing her to easily say her name. "Though if its too hard to say, you can shorten it if you want." She added with a laugh. She gave a small chuckled when she saw him step deeper into the water, almost to his knees now. Honestly this mare was completely oblivious when it came to noticing how her looks intrigued other horses. The mare swam in a small circle and smiled up at him, "So are you going to swim or just stand there? I promise I won't bite, señor..." She wrinkled her nose and furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "I'm sorry but I didn't catch your name. So it would be...?" she asked curiously, then playfully splashed up water at him with her nose. Then gave a smug smirk as her splash successfully wet his face some.

((It would seem that he is ehehehehe )) The strangely marked stallion's black tipped ears remained perked forward, almost hanging on her every word. Her accent was something new to him, and he liked hearing it. Why? He didn't exactly know. Outlaw chuckled and swished his tail as he replied in a joking manner, "Oh? Have some faith in me and my speech capabilities, Esterellita." His short period of fumbling for words left behind, he pronounced her name perfectly. Well, as perfectly as one could manage without a Spanish accent. "Why would I want to shorten such a ravishing name?" The stallion wanted to make sure she liked him at least a little. She wasn't only beautiful, but she was interesting and seemed like fun. Kind of like taking a deep breath of fresh air in a place that you've never been to before. As he gazed down at her, she spoke and made him chuckle. "I wouldn't mind if you bit me, honestly. But my name is Outlaw. If you prefer to call me anything else, feel free." He finished with a sweet smile, only to be splashed in the face. This made the sweetness drain from his face and replace it with the same smugness that Esterellita wore. "You asked for this!" he whinnied, eyes flashing with mischievous playfulness before leaping into the water from a standstill, causing a giant wave of water to crash over the mare.

((ehehehe Again, late reply is late xD Esterellita is soo gonna get him back now xD)) "AAAYYYEEE!" She yelled as the giant wave of water crashed over her. Causing her to fly back some and lose her footing, going under into the cool water. Her head quickly burst toward the surface and she coughed up some water. Esterellita glared at the stallion, but her bluish grayish eyes shown her playfulness. "¡You pequeño diablo!" she shouted. "You just got yourself into trouble, señor Outlaw." With that, she quickly splashed him with her tail. The water spraying him right in the face. Pushing forward with her hind feet, she half way sprung out of the water and landed with a giant splash right next to the white strangely marked stallion. Smirking as the water washed over him. She grinned had raised her tail and chin proudly, "That's what you get for messing with a loner." The mare joked, with a hint of seriousness of course. After all, she liked to believe that loners were indeed a force to be reckoned with if one ever did stir up trouble with them. The young mare couldn't help but wonder about this stallion. Why he seemed to be down before hand. What had him so lost in thought. He seemed to be happier now though, so she supposed that she had meet her goal for the day. For now at least.

With the stallion being as tall as he was, his hooves were able to sink into the pebbles and sand a bit to keep him grounded when he landed in the water. Outlaw's dismal thoughts were receding further into the back if his mind as Esterellita shrieked then popped up sputtering from the foam of the wave he sent over her. A breathy, light chuckle left his still rather tense chest as her eyes caught his own soft brown one. That look in her eye made a rush of something rush through him, intensified by the splash in the face. Sure he didn't understand one hundred percent of what she said, but just the way she said it as she looked at him made him understand the meaning of every word.
"Oh I have, haven't I?"Outlaw nickered as he flipped his damp forelock and mane out of the areas of his face where it wasn't supposed to be. Shining, clear droplets ran down his sleek face and caught the light a bit, making it look like he was glittering. The strangely marked stallion was about to take a breath in to continue speaking to her, trying to flirt even, but he was greeted with an equally large wave washing over his good self. It didn't wash him off his hooves and set him swimming, as his had done to her since his hooves were firmly set in with pebbles and sand. However he did loose his balance and stumble a bit, now completely drenched and dripping. The glittering effect of the water on his face was now making his entire body shimmer in the sun, defining each supple muscle and bit of hair. This time he didn't bother to try to shake out the water from his coat, since it was a rather warm day for that time of year and the cool feeling was rather refreshing. His black tipped ears flicked to the side in a relaxed manner as he replied with a genuine look, "I would never mess with any Loner." The gentle playfulness in his only exposed eye held a light of understanding, for after all he had been a Loner himself for a couple years of his life previous to the Exiles. Then he tilted his head and extended his neck towards the mare, replying jokingly "Well, maybe except the ones I like." Thinking about the past made him remember why he had wandered off, why his head was so clouded. His ears flicked backwards and drooped a bit.

She chuckled as the stallion gave his small flirt, then frowned a bit when she saw his ears droop back back. "Something on your mind?" She asked curiously with a bit of concern. She nudged his neck playfully, "Best thing about loners, we don't have any gossip to spread to anyone." She said with friendly smile as she moved her head back to where it was before she nudged him. She didn't really expect him to tell her what had him down in the dumps, though she'd figure she'd at least let him know that she was willing to listen. Her mane was soaked and stuck to her neck as water droplets dripped down, her hair was out of it's usually done up way. Though her mother's small red ribbon was still in her hair. The water stuck to her smooth muscles which was a relief from the beating sun over head. She wasn't the most muscular of horses, but being a loner and traveling around did cause her to have some. What muscles she did have were smooth and elegant looking. Where the water was on her white markings was where the sun glittered on the most, making her cloud-like markings look even more interesting.
Despite herself, she did cheek Outlaw out. Noticing his muscles she figured that he must be a guard or scout, or just really likes to work out. By all means he wasn't the most muscular stallion she had seen all her life, but he wasn't the scrawniest. His slightly romanized face brought out his eyes, or what eye she could see. She quite liked his mane too, kinda spiky yet fluffy looking. A part of her wondered what he was hiding under the one hidden eye, maybe he wasn't, some horses just liked it as a fashion statement.

Outlaw quickly lifted his head and ears when Esterellita asked him what he was thinking about. He hadn't realized that his ears drooped, normally he hid these things unconsciously and didn't show his thoughts or feelings unless he did so knowingly. I must be really off...Gotta get it together he thought to himself. Then something came to him, sending a warm feeling through his chest. She sounded concerned...like she actually cared a bit. That in itself made him feel a bit better. And the nudge too was quite comforting. Outlaw smiled in return with a small sigh as he replied, "Well...yeah. Just everything that's going on between the herds right now. It gets a little hard to take in all at once," he chuckled "even for someone as chill as I am." The normally reticent stallion wouldn't be telling this to just anyone, he'd brush it off. But seeing as Esterellita was showing genuine concern and had no reason to tell anyone else, he trusted her. As he spoke to her, his eyes couldn't help but wander a bit. Discreetly of course. That rumor that everyone looked more attractive doused and dripping in water? Totally true, especially for Outlaw. Esterellita was shining like an angel stepping out of heaven, especially since the sun was more behind her imitating the gates of paradise. And her mane nearly all natural since the ribbon, although still intact, had come a bit loose. He didn't understand why she tied it back at all, she looked beautiful the way she was. But he did notice that a bit of her forelock was in her face. Well I guess that's one reason she ties it back he thought as he stepped closer to her until he was able to gently move the mane out of her face. Before he pulled away he was able to catch a glimpse at her blue-grey eyes, making him pause for a moment before blinking quickly a few times to refocus his train of thought. "Sorry...Your forelock was in your face." Well, Outlaw, that was about the dumbest thing you could've said right now.. he groaned internally. But it was clear to him that Esterellita definitely traveled many places frequently and was active. She was smoothly built, happy and healthy looking. Not so big and muscular that he felt threatened, but not tiny and petite do that he felt like he would break her if he played a bit roughly. And her markings entranced him, not just initially but every time he glanced at them. But so he wasn't caught staring he shook his mane in order to scratch a pretend itch as the water ran around his legs like a cool massage. This little shake caused his forelock over his right eye to be slightly dislodged.

((sorry for the late reply xD what is it with me and late replies?!))
Blue-grey eyes rolled at Outlaw's explanation as to why he seemed so trouble. "I understand, you herdlings often seem to have conflict between each other. Honestly this is why I prefer to be a loner." She gave a small giggle at his joke, "If you're so chill, than why are you in the water to cool off?" She smirked. Not the best of remarks but it'll do, she thought to herself. She stiffened slightly when he brushed her forelock out of her face. Giving a small blush when he paused as he looked into her eyes. "Well thank you then," she said with a smile. "It really does bother me when its in my face, me being clumsy and all." She huffed. Again, completely unaware to what her looks have done to the stallion and why he had a sudden itch. Here eyes narrowed when she thought she saw something on his eye, "Pardon me, señor Outlaw, but what herd are you from?" She asked curiously, "I suspect a fit and handsome stallion like you must have a few ojos de señoritas on you." She leaned her face a bit closer towards him and grinned innocently, batting her eyelashes as she did so. She may be completely oblivious to her looks but she knew how to flirt and she knew that for some reason, creatures seemed to think she was beautiful. Besides, he was a handsome stallion and flirting was just such fun.

((Eeeee everyone gets busy! |D))
Outlaw's fairly muscular shoulders rose and fell with a sigh that caused his dark nostrils to fan out. She did have a point. Loners very rarely had to deal with herd rivalry, and when they did it was almost always their choosing. He knew that, for he too had felt that allegiance to only himself once. At her equally awkward poke at him, the strangely marked stallion found himself giggling as well. "Good one."
When the mare blushed, he didn't seem to react much other than his ears drooping to the side in a position of relaxation. Rather than pointing it out and acting all cocky, he just enjoyed it while it lasted without a word about it. A gentle smile graced his features until he noticed the patterned buckskin mare narrow her eyes at him as if there was something strange on his face. He was about to ask her if everything was alright but she spoke first, questioning his herd alias. She must've caught a bit of my scar... Outlaw thought to himself. But he wouldn't lose his composure. Bowing his head slightly in a somewhat polite gesture, the thick forelock fell back over the small bit of exposed X. "I'm one of the Guards in the Exile herd, here on the Eastern Isle until our home regrows." Then his nostrils fluttered as he snorted in disbelief and he swished his tail, causing droplets of water to spray all over his back and even on Esterellita. Of course he didn't mean to do that, the fact that the two were currently standing in a river just happened to escape him. His mind was clearly on something or rather someone other than his surroundings.
"You'd be surprised then, because there are no 'señoritas' coming after me." His brown eyes glinted with a quick flash of sadness, remembering how he had been a fool with his heart not too much earlier. But that was his own fault, he had been careless. With another shake of his mane he dismissed the thought, the smooth hair brushing up against Esterellita's neck since she had moved closer. This time it was his turn to blush, even if it was very slight.

((...and again xD Summer has started for me so I should be able to get these replies out there sooner. By the way, The Ghost of The Past doc is up and ready for you to start. Details are in the doc )) Esterellita noticed the sad glint in the stallion's eyes and smiled sadly, ignoring his blush. "I am sorry to hear about your home," she moved her head back to its normal position. "I understand the South Isle was beautiful at one point, I'm sure it will go back to its former glory one day." She assured him, "And I'm sure there is one or two señoritas with their eyes on you. You're just not looking hard enough." She added with a wink then playfully splashed him with her tail. "Are you liking it here on the East Island? I could never stay in one place myself, there is so much to explore you know." She knew why some horses stayed in one heard, but she could never understand it, not completely. He must be very brave to be a guard for his heard. She thought to herself. So, valiente, guapo, y fuerte eh? Interesting enough stallion indeed. She gave him her friendly smile, as if any of her previous thoughts and observations were not there at all and she was simply listening to him and answering his questions. Which she was, of course, since he seemed to have caught her interest.

Outlaw shifted his weight in the stream so he was a bit more in the shallows so being pushed over by the current wasn't as much of a distracting thought in his head that took him out of the conversation. The Guard half reared playfully when a spray of water landed on his face and muzzle, chuckling and making sure to send a small wave in the mare's direction just to cool her off a bit. It was exceptionally warm out after all and if either one or them happened to overheat and pass out that would definitely put a wet towel on their fun time together. However the pale stallion was quite unlikely to do anything of that sort, seeing how his favorite weather was exactly this...sweltering heat. He prided himself on how clean and handsome he looked in the heat while many others' manes frizzed. However as soon as she mentioned her affinity for exploration, his ears perked forward. "I do like the Eastern Isle, it's very green. A nice change from what I'm used to seeing." he added with a chuckle. Now the fires weren't really something to be joking about, but it showed that he was keeping positive through the entire experience. "But I like to explore too! It actually got me into quite a bit of trouble when I was younger. Even then I've only seen the Isle of Olde from across the landbridge. Have you ever been there? Or anywhere else that sticks out in your memory?" he inquired to the younger Messenger. Even in his two years as a Loner Outlaw hadn't seen very much of Chevalin. But he was still very curious about it, always willing to learn. And this mare seemed to know a lot about the world...well he assumed so if she was always out exploring new things. The Guard was very much enjoying her company that afternoon. She looked like she had good stories to tell, and her smile comforted him.
