If "Trespasser" Means "Friend"... A roleplay between Prismarine's Araphine && Poedogs' Cethin It was just before dawn, and Araphine found herself trading the warmth and comfort of her home for the crisp, chilly morning air. The sun hadn't quite breached the horizon, but the clouds above her head were a mixture of pale pinks and purples and pale oranges and every color that makes up the dawn. It was too early for the birds to begin their daily songs, leaving everything around her eerily silent. Araphine sighed, a sad smile touching her lips. The sunrise was beautiful, yes - but it seemed much less so without her sister.
Shaking those thoughts from her mind, Araphine continued towards the Silver Wood. She'd been spending more and more time among the silvery trees, soaking up what peace she could while she was awake. As she walked, she contemplated whether or not she actually wanted to visit the Silver Wood that morning. Yes, the sunrise there was nice, but why didn't she try watching it from somewhere else for a change? With an idea blooming in her mind, she took off at a gallop, her tail splayed out behind her like a banner.
Just as the sun began to rise, she spotted it: the land bridge connecting the Isle of Olde to the East Island. She knew she probably shouldn't be there, but how could she resist? The sun rising across the water was too beautiful not to watch. After all, she wouldn't cross the land bridge. She would just sit in front of it until the sun had risen. She couldn't be punished for that, right? And if trouble found her, she was confident in her ability to get away safely. Or so she hoped.
Deciding that this would be a marvelous way to spend her morning, she lowered herself into the grass, and allowed her gaze to wander across the East Island.

A quest. That's what they said it was. Not at all, more like a plan to get the dark stallion away from them. He was too mopey and too quick to fight these days. For one of the bachelors he was a real damper on their moods. So they sent him here. Across the land bridge and to that grimy island they called Olde. "Lovely." The stallion muttered under his breath as he stepped through the grass only just before dawn. What had he been doing? Oh yes scouting out places for battles to take place. Yes lovely indeed. His newfound talent with shapeshifting and strategy would hopefully prove to be a great opponent against any Olde fellows who should choose to attack.
He'd left the city. The famed prayer pool or whatever that past Olde loners could brag about, the crystalline blue waters were tainted with red. He saw no one around it. The city was a good place though. The building and foliage made for good cover and since the defensive place was at the heart of Olde territory Bachelor forces could surround it and put it under siege for sure. The stallion hung his head, remembering the embarrassment and shame that came with losing to the blundering fool Ryan during sparring. He gritted his teeth and was about to mutter a curse when he heard the happy sigh and twitch of greenery. The stallion immediately went on high alert and began to pick his way carefully, wondering if he should shift forms. Should this be a knight or advisor or a mage Cethin would be most unhappy. He didn't want interaction right now when he was so close to getting home. Oh well. The stallion picked his way slowly and quietly through the grass until he spotted, with difficulty, the dirt colored and white spotted mare came into view. He'd never seen a loner quite like her and he sure does remember how scraggly the exiles were. Who was this mare? Most likely she was Olde, but the stallion wanted to just slink by. Hopefully she wouldn't see him...

Araphine stretched her legs and yawned as the sun began to kiss her and everything around her, bathing them in a golden light. The warmth was a welcome change from the chill of morning, and she smiled, rolling onto her side and resting her head in the grass. She closed her eyes and allowed the sound of waves crashing against the shore to lull her into a state of semi-consciousness. She opened her eyes lazily, telling herself that she shouldn't doze off so far away from her home, just in case something bad DID happen. She lifted her head, appreciating the breeze that would have tussled her mane if she'd had one. She smiled, but was only half aware that she WAS smiling. Nothing compared to the rising of the sun - listening as the world awoke around her was one of the most peaceful things she could hope to experience.
Just as she'd begun to doze off again, her ears pricked, and her head swiveled in alarm. She could have sworn she'd heard something, though she was unable to identify what that 'something' was. She scrambled to her hooves, shaking the grass and dust off her body. She stood there, a timid mess, hoping that whoever was watching her (or, at least, she assumed they were watching her) was friendly. She swallowed hard. Her mind raced, fighting itself over whether or not she should call out. Of course, she could just be imagining things - after all, the creatures of the island were just beginning to wake. It could have been a bird, or a rabbit. Yes, that was it. A rabbit.
She stood silent for a few more moments before deciding that the trouble had passed. With a sigh of relief, she lowered herself back onto the ground, and immediately began to bask in the sun's warmth again. Just as soon as she'd begun to appreciate the beauty of the sunrise, however, she was alarmed again by the soft sound of rustling grass. This time she leaped to her hooves, her ears flat in a bit of panic. "Who's there?" She called, her voice quiet and not at all intimidating.

Cethin froze as her words rang out, they were not, of course of the tone of that of a knight or guard. Just an on-edge mare. He pushed past the grass near the land bridge and clopped onto some of the stones, bright silvery hooves clacking against their hard surface. "Oh, just a loner making his rounds, trying to avoid his former herd." Cethin worked his silver tongue and lied easily and smoothly. "And mares like you guarding the land bridge," He muttered grumpily as he began to skirt the grass around her, catching distrustful glances her way. It wouldn't be the first time for him to have his cover blown by a Olde mare screaming for help.
The sun bathed the two of them in light and Cethin took in the mare, she was pretty, with spots and dapples and stripes, oh my. She had emerald green eyes and no mane, but a sweet quiet voice. She seemed like an ordinary member of the herd though. "I heard there was some turmoil between Olde and the Bachelors. Do you know how Vasska is fairing?" He delved into the words, trying to find the status of the king in order to relay information back to the Bachelors. "Not that it's my business, but I don't know you don't seem like one who would know." He was trying to lure her into a trap with his words, to get information quickly and hopefully effortlessly. The scavenger stallion smiled like a snake and sent his piercing orange gaze in the mare's direction, locking his gaze with her emerald green eyes.
