This is a Private roleplay between A-lure's Arachne, and JennyCallie's Taishen.
The morning air was crisp, and a bit foggy, but the promise of a hot sun could be felt and seen through the thin veil of morning cloud. It was likely to be a beautiful day. Arachne stood near the borders of the trees, eyeing quietly from the sidelines as Olde members passed by, most sluggish as they began to awaken and start their days. Some would give a quick nod of greeting in her direction, or a friendly"Good morning", to which she would respond kindly int he moment, and then revert back to her cold like stare once they had passed. There was a meeting this morning. She had caught wind of it, a gathering of the advisors to discuss some sort of developing situation. She was hazy on the details. Perhaps it had to do with the war that had launched between the factions before she arrived? it mattered not to her, really, she was just eager to have many advisors in one place. Or more so, a location that they would be traveling towards. It would be quick, clean. Nothing was smart about a messy death. Blood was hard to wash off, especially on a white face. And she had no thrill in violence, but more so a joy in halting life to what suited her fancy. With a quick snort, Arachne began to move across the plains, slowly. Making sure her steps were quiet, and she tried to move with the flow of the fog as best she could, to conceal herself when she was able. After about ten or so minuets of walking, her target became visible. An advisor was leisurely heading on his way to the meeting, about 30 meters ahead of her. She had to keep a distance or else risk her cover being blown. She felt her heart start to beat against her ribs, rattling them like a deep drum. One less advisor meant a little panic in the herd, and one more position that could possibly be filled. And that. she did find a thrill in.

"Blast this fog-"
The angry explosion seemed to shatter through the mist, followed by the sounds of a large and irate creature thrashing through the grass.
"Ah-HA!"
A large liver chestnut stallion suddenly emerged from a near-by patch of fog, pouncing triumphantly in to the cleared circle of grass. He flicked his braided tail, sending it whistling through the lingering mist behind him, and striking the earth with a fierce hoof. The paint stallion struck quite a pose as he swung his neck back and forth, challenging the wispy grey tendrils. Then he noticed the halted (and understandably shocked) Arachne, standing just in front of him and partially shrouded by the shifting fog.
"Oh, my pardons, lady," Taishen said at once, lowering his lifted foreleg to the ground and flicking his ears towards the mare. He recognized her; she was relatively new to Olde, what was her name again? He was supposed to know these things, as a Defender- Arachne, that was it. Pleased with himself, the stallion dipped his head in greeting. Not too deeply, of course- he was a Defender Mage, after all. "I apologize for coming across you so abruptly; this weather has me all turned around. I had just finished training and bathing when it rolled in and, apparently," he looked around, frowning, "I got turned around." His mahogany gaze returned to Arachne. A fine looking mare, and no mistake. He subtly arched his neck.
"Did this weather trick you as well, or are you just enjoying a morning stroll?" He asked companionably, figuring that he ought to be accommodating to a new (and pretty) addition to the herd.

Arachne bit her tongue to keep her composure as the large male horse appeared and began speaking to her in hefty sentences. A simple "Hello I'll be on my way now" would have sufficed, like the others had done. She felt her eye twitch a little in aggravation as she tried to side-eye the now disappearing advisor in the distance. "Ah, well no my darling Sir," and up came that coy smile, the mask of good intentions as she tried to sort of side step around Taishen. " I don't seem to mind the fog too much, it is quite cooling for morning walks, the sun gets awfully hot for me, you see." Who even was this? baed on his more then adept muscle formation she assumed he was one of those brutish defender mages. They were always sparring in the morning...a few of them trampled on of her lavender patches. She didn't discover who but she would have liked to set their pelts on fire. She's had a bit of a sour taste for them since. "Please don't let me interrupt your day, I'll just be going-" And she tried to complete her stepping around him, without looking like she was in a hurry, or on a death mission, or completely and utterly cursing his existence in the depths of her mind.

Tai's smile had slipped, slightly, when Arachne looked at him initially and he had detected... irritation? Unease? From the mare, but then she was all smiles and polite talk, and he regained his cheerfulness. Must have imagined it; it was early, after all, and he was a bit wearied from his training.
"Oh, no interruption at all!" Taishen was quick to demure, ever the gallant mage. He had been taught long and well by his parents, his father especially, on how to comport himself as a representative of the esteemed herd of Olde, as well as how to behave properly in the presence of a lady. And so he put on (what he thought) was his most noble and charming expression as he looked at the healer. "The fog can be nice," he conceded thoughtfully, looking around at it and utterly (and obliviously) blocking the grey mare's attempt to slide past him. "It has it's own beauty, I suppose. But I like to see where I'm putting down my hooves." His gaze moved back to Arachne, and he twisted his lip in a wry smile. "I don't normally make a habit of barging in to passing mares, I assure you." He dipped his neck again, an elegant curve that sent his sheared mane to falling along his crest. "I'm Taishen," and he puffed out his chest slightly, "a Defender Mage. It's a pleasure to officially meet you- Healer Arachne, yes?"

"Uhm." Arachne flicked an ear quickly as she watched the last little dot of shape that was the Advisor disappear into the foggy distance. She had lost him, and it was no thanks to this piece of muscle. She doubted she would get such an opportune moment again, or at least not for a long while. She cursed him in her mind. With a slow exhale, the mare turned her eyes to Tai. And there it was again, that quick but brief moment of dead coldness in her expression. And again, just like last time it was quickly buried under a smouldering smile and heavy lidded eyes. " Correct, Sir Taishen. You are one of the few who actually seem to know my name before we have even had the chance to speak." "Perhaps she could lead him astray off a cliff somewhere? Ah...she smiled more at the thought. She wondered if she moved quickly, if she could perhaps catch the advisor, or another, on their way back from the meeting grounds. Surely a few of them would depart on their own and be left more vulnerable. She would have to change her tactic, but it could work out if she was quick. " I was merely going for a walk, I don't know the area much yet so it isn't really getting lost, since I'm lost no matter where I go until I'm more familiar with the land. " She tried to side step in the other direction now, swishing her long and coarsely cut tail behind her in one determined flick. "So I wont take up any more of your time as I am sure a great Defender such as yourself has much to do..."

Taishen chuckled, and failed to notice any shift in Arachne's pleasant veneer, instead seeing only the coy smile, the flickering lashes. He bobbed his head once, in acknowledgement to her remark.
"Well my father always told me it was important, or should I say, imperative, that a "proper stallion of Olde" always knows his herd well," Tai said, with another chuckle, "and I guess the habit's stuck. And now that I'm a defender mage," and he stressed the words in an imitation of his father's lofty voice, "I don't think I could handle the disappointment in his face if it got back to him I was slacking off." He quirked a conspiratorial brow at Arachne. "That, and my brother is Eden," he confided with a slightly sheepish grin. "He told me about you, truly."
His brown eyes widened at Arachne's next words, and he took a quick half-stride towards her, so that he was slightly in front of her again. Not crowding her, of course, he was far from so coarse, but just to put himself in her line of vision again, to slow down her walk away from him.
"Oh, no, no need for that lady!" He assured her at once. "You're not interrupting me in the slightest; I pulled dawn patrols the last two days in a row so," and he rolled his withers, "I'm completely off duty today." He paused, looking around at the mist, eyes darkening slightly with memories. "As much as any of us can truly be 'off duty', these days," he said more quietly. He stared for a moment longer, then shook his head, mane flying wildly as he brought himself back to the present.
"I would be happy to show you around some, lady healer, so that you can get more familiar with the land," he offered gallantly, with a winning smile. "It would be my honor, in fact. Let's just forget that this blasted fog has already turned me around once today, shall we?" He gave another conspiratorial grin.
