[Setting- City of Olde, a little over a month after Objective 4]
Sunlight peered over the crumbling buildings of the city of Olde. Birds chirped happily, flitting between the cracks of the structures around them as they made their spring-time homes. A roan mare walked down the pavement of what remained of the streets. Her hooves were sure on the uneven ground, knowing the terrain like the back of her hoof. It might have been a couple of months since Little Bird had set foot in this city, having just come back from the Crescent island where she and several other loners had found quite a few unexpected things. After traveling across the Eastern island, the Ranger had found herself longing for familiarity, and though she didn't want to be reminded about the death of her father, she had decided it had come time that she returned to the only home she had known.
Little Bird had arrived a few days ago, flopping down on one of the old couches that were in the room that she used to keep her treasures. It was in a small apartment complex on the Eastern side of the city. Not a lot of horses walked down the small alley you had to take to get back to her hideaway, so it was a pretty safe place to call home. She certainly didn't want to return to the place where her father had raised her. Far too many memories were there for her to live there without breaking down. Shaking her head of the old memories, Little Bird collected a few different herbs and vegetables that grew in one of the small gardens that flourished in the depths of the city. She carefully plucked the plants out of the ground or the stems they grew on and placed them in a satchel that she liked to use when she had to collect items for her stash of food and human artifacts.
When she was satisfied that she had enough, she walked the short distance back to her room. It wasn't too far of a walk especially for someone who knew the city as well as she did. That was certainly one of the perks of living in the same place your entire life: you knew the ins and outs of every part of it. Little Bird walked through the gaping hole where a door once stood, but it had long since rotted off of its hinges. Her ears flicked forward as she raised her nose to the air. She took a few deep breaths of the air around her, stopping dead in her tracks when she caught an unfamiliar scent in the air. Little Bird's eyes scanned the rooms around her, making sure that she was alone before quietly making her way toward her own room that was down the hall from the entrance. Her muscles tensed with each step she took, readying herself for whatever might be inside there with her.
