Esterellita laughed at Little Bird's tale. "I have heard that they can be quite nasty little creatures. I'll be sure to stay away from them when I can." A distant roll of thunder caused her ears to perk towards the entrance of the small cave they were in. The rain had somewhat died down now though the storm was still too much for anyone to venture out in. Well, anyone who was sane that is. Esterellita couldn't help but notice that the older mare gave a quiet sigh but then quickly covered it up with a smile. Esterellita thought of asking what was wrong but then quickly decided against it. I better not push her, she thought, perhaps the little memory slightly gave something that was desagradable, such as my thoughts about mi viejo amor. The young mare suddenly gave a gasp, "That reminds me! There was this one time." She started giggling. "I had gone up ahead of my father and Ferlotilla on one of our many viajes. I was still just a filly at the time so I was very curious and even more clumsy than I am today." She joked slightly. "Anyways, I heard these branches rattling up in the trees. I looked up and the next thing I knew, something fell on my face." She started to laugh, "It was a chipmunk and the poor thing had fallen and was desperately trying to not fall off of me while I ran around screaming like something was trying to kill me." She had managed to stop laughing and was now smiling from ear to ear, "My father was quite mad at me, giving him a heart attack like that. And to this day I still hate chipmunks."
Another flash of lightning illuminated the cave floor at the end of her tale, followed by another crack of thunder. Causing the mare to turn her head towards the entrance of the cave. "It seems the rain has died down some." She noted to Little Bird, though a bit sadly. She must admit she was having a good time talking to another loner, and a Ranger at that. She was surprised that she hadn't complete fangirled over the roan mare yet and hug her til she could barely breathe. It was nice to have somebody to tell a tale or two to, and Little Bird hadn't told her to shut up yet so Esterellita took this as a good thing. She slightly wished for the storm to last a bit longer so that she could get to know the older mare more. However, she knew that the ranger had a job to do and that mother nature would stop raging sooner or later. Esterellita just wished for later.

Little Bird chuckled, nodding her head. "Yes, they are quite nasty especially the little ones." She said, wrinkling her nose slightly at the thought of the blood-sucking moose. Thank goodness she hadn't had very many encounters with them. They were so creepy, and the fact that they fed off of blood was a bit revolting. Too bad the little ones were pretty cute as well. At the rumbling of thunder outside of their cave, she peeked toward the cavern's opening, seeing that the rain had settled down a little bit since they had first settled here. Maybe it wouldn't take too much longer for it to clear up, but she had to admit for the first time she was sad that she wouldn't have to stay inside much longer. This conversation was pretty enjoyable, and having spent months alone after normally having at least one horse with her all of the time, Bird was becoming quite lonesome. Little Bird glanced back over at the mare beside her as she gasped, and her ears perked toward her to listen to her next tale. A fit of giggles escaped her at Esterellita's story. "The poor, little chipmunk. I'm sure he's just as mad at horses as you are at chipmunks. I can't say that I've ever really had any run in with other animals like that. My father kept me on a pretty tight leash when I was growing up. I spent most of my time training to become a Ranger." Little Bird admitted, remembering the relentless training she had gone through. 'You are a mare, Little Bird, and while a colt would have been easier to train, I'm not going to give up hope on you. I'll make you into as good of a Ranger as any of those stallions.' He would always tell her, day after day.
The roan mare turned her gaze back toward the cave opening as Esterellita did as well. "It seems it has. It shouldn't be too much longer before the storm is settled down enough for safe travels." She agreed in an equally sad tone. "I must admit though that I wish it'd last a little longer. Not to hold you up on your trip to wherever it is you are headed, but it's been a pleasure talking with you." Little Bird said, grinning over at her companion. "Where were you headed? If you don't mind me asking."

((don't ask...school and dance practice. This week I'll have dance practice none stop since recital is this Friday and Saturday. Though my summer has officially started so hopefully I shall be able to reply quicker ^_^ ))
She smiled at Little Bird, "Gracias, señorita. It was a pleasure talking with you as well. Its nice to talk to a fellow loner who doesn't mind talking." Esterellita's ears flickered toward the cave's entrance again as another boom of thunder sounded. "Actually I was headed toward the newly found island...or the island that the witch had kept hidden. So I heard. I heard that our fellow loners had found unicorns there. I was going to see if the rumors were true." She tilted her head at Little Bird, remembering that she seemed to come from where the island was. "Were you there for the witch's call?" She asked the roan mare. "Perhaps you could save me the journey of getting there. I would rather not travel through this swamp after it had just stormed as bad as it did now. Not to mention no telling what is on that strange island." She added, though she didn't sound scared or too worried about what she said. In all honesty she wasn't scared, she would just rather not have to go alone. Preferably with someone who had been there before, even if not for long.

(lol don't worry about it. <3 I know how real life can be, and I don't mind waiting for a response. ^-^ I hope your recital goes well! ) Little Bird chuckled. "Yeah, I can't tell you how many times I've run into other loners only for them to not speak a word. I really don't get it sometimes. They could at least say hello." The older mare joked, remembering the many times she had went up to other loners, hoping to strike up a conversation, but they walked away like she hadn't said a word to them. When Esterellita said where she was headed, Little Bird froze for a moment. Wondering how the other loners she had left behind where doing on that island that the witch had brought them to. Little Bird hadn't made it through the Bayagu's races to see who could make it through the tough and dangerous interior of the island. It had angered and frustrated her, but her thoughts were drawn to another situation that she hadn't thought of with all of the drama and a new island popping out of nowhere. Little Bird had left a young colt alone on Olde, and while he had lived years alone without her, she couldn't help but feel worried about his safety. "I was there for the witch's call. I had to find my way across a few of the Bachelors on my way, but I made it." She said, grinning. "I didn't see any unicorns on the island while I was there. A small group of loners went into the interior of the island and left the rest of us on the beach. I wasn't of much help sitting on my butt on a beach, so I left before the others could return. There is something else that I need to take care of." Little Bird explained, flicking her ears toward the mouth of the cave as another clap of thunder was heard overhead. This time, however, it sounded more distant. As if the storm was getting further and further away. "The island is very dangerous. I've never seen Bayagu that worried before. If I were you, I wouldn't go... not alone at least. I would go with you to make sure you arrived safely, but I have someone that I need to make sure is safe on Olde. You are more than welcome to come along if you'd like. Unless the island is that tempting to see." Little Bird said, giving Esterellita a warm smile though a hint of worry flashed in her eyes. If the witch was afraid of what was on an island, then Little Bird was worried about what it might be. Word Count: 422

(recital was super fun and this objective has gotten me behind on my RP replies xD sorry 'bout that. Hey, if our two groups ever run into each other, then that means our girls will get to see each other again) She blinked at the little bit of worry in Little Bird's eyes. She was used to her worrying about the health of others, not the other way around. She hadn't really made any friends, not that she didn't want to. It was just that any somewhat friendly horses she met were herdlings, and her being the inpatient young mare she was never really liked to stay in one place for long so she didn't get to know them that well. It surprised her that a complete stranger was even a little bit worried about her safety. " Oh no it's fine, I was just curious is all." Not wanting to be a burden on the other mare. Though she was touched by Little Bird's offer to go with her. She wanted to return the favor. "I can come along if you want me to." She smiled kindly back at her. "I might not come all the way to Olde with you but I might cross the land bridge." Esterellita didn't mind wandering the East Island, even with the Bachelor Herd. She had a few encounters with one or two bachelors, she had talked to some and managed to out whit the ones that tried to trick into taking advantage of her, or take her in as a slave. She liked living on the edge a bit, making her feel alive and calming that restless side of her. She herself didn't go to the lone pine when the witch called, she had her own reasons behind that though.

((That's good to hear! lol don't worry about it. I haven't been replying to very many RPs either since the objective has started. XD That would be a total blast if they met up again! )) Little Bird felt her stomach churn a little at the thought of the newest, mysterious island and how distraught the Witch had become when the wall that had been there had been torn down by a single touch. It was like the entire world had come crashing down on her, and if something or someone made Ba'yagu herself act like a wounded foal, Little Bird did not want to find out herself, and as a Ranger, she couldn't let another loner go down that path to a possibly horrific demise. Not to mention that she might not even make it across the landbridge with those deadly snakes slithering across it. That song the Witch had sang had definitely sounded unique, and she had a feeling that Esterellita didn't know it despite the fact that the other mare seemed smart and cunning. "I'd hate to see you get hurt. If you'd like I can describe what I saw on the island before I left instead of you endangering yourself by going in person." She offered, hoping to further deter the seemingly spirited mare from traveling to the dangerous island. As Esterellita offered to accompany her, Little Bird couldn't help but grin, feeling a little excited and hopeful about having company for once during her travels. She hadn't gotten a chance to really journey with anyone since her father had passed away. "I would really love having someone travel with me even if it's just for a little while. It can get so boring walking around all alone." Little Bird murmured, thinking of all of the boring hours she had spent trekking through the forests and the mountains to get here. "Plus, it's probably a little better to travel in small groups on this island. Those Bachelors definitely live up to their name. Good thing a lot of them are easy to distract." The roan mare said, rolling her eyes at the thought of the Bachelors she had run into though recently she had met a couple that had been particularly kind and generous. Poor Ephraim and Abel. If only she could help them as well as little August. Her ears flicked toward the mouth of the cave as the sound of the rain lessened against the walls of rock around them, and the sound of thunder drifted further and further away as the storm drifted to another part of Chevalin. "Well it seems the storm had finally settled down a little. Want to get out of this god-awful swamp or would you rather wait?" Little Bird asked, turning her brown eyes toward the uniquely-marked mare laying beside her. Word Count: 437
