the roan mare grinned at Ryder all of a sudden. "Or we could over power em.. Anarchy!" She joked, a little too loudly. "Ehh I dunno if I could just pick up everything and leave. I just got comfy in the herd." She said, for once in a long time it felt like she had a true home in the herd but now she had friends and fit in more with the other horses. ___
After The War ___ After the war Aragon returned to their make shift more in summer fields with her herd, finally reunited with them all. She seemed to have a limp that would stay with her for a few weeks till she fully healed, but she seemed more adventurous than before. She had made a few 'friends' in the bachelor herd which was a surprise since she truly couldn't stand them. The young mare seemed much more open and talkative to others lately. Currently she was stretching her long skinny legs on a small walk though the herd, she didn't feel comfortable enough to go and walk further in case she were to run into any monsters that also inhabited the land.
Aragon heard her name, her eyebrows knit together unsure who it was, and turned around. Her eyes widened seeing Ryder and she grinned at him. "Ryder!" She said happy to see her friend. "Hi, I'm pretty good, not bleeding anymore or hurting just a small limp." She said "How have you been? I heard you got promoted and married Effie!" She asked, truly excited for him.

Ryder grinned, coming to a stop beside the roan mare. He had noticed the slight limb during his approach, but it hadn't been too bad to cause concern. "That's good. I'm sure the limb will lessen as it heals more and you keep walking on it to loosen it up. It's a good thing the bleeding and aching stopped though." He assured her, letting a small smile work its way onto his face. A sheepish chuckle escaped him at her next excited statement. "I'm pretty good myself. And yes, yes I did. I'm still in disbelief a bit at both." Ryder joked, blushing slightly at the thought of all of the attention he had been getting lately from his wedding and his sudden promotion in the herd.
His ears swiveled around as he heard the steady clomping of hooves on the ground toward them, and when he turned to see who it was, he laughed softly, shaking his head slightly at the sight before him. Leif galloped toward them, a look of delight on his face as he spotted his father. "Papa! I've been lookin' all over the place for you!" Leif called, skidding to a halt beside Ryder. The brown paint ruffled the colt's already-messy mane with his muzzle, causing Leif to giggle. "Well, I guess now's a good time to introduce the two of you. Aragon, this is Leif, and Leif, this is Aragon. She's one of the horses that I went to the island of Olde with not too long ago." Ryder introduced them, smiling proudly at his son. "It's nice to meet you, Aragon!" Leif said happily, turning his blue eyes from his father to the mare in front of him. "You went all the way to Olde with my papa?" The colt asked curiously, tilting his head up at Aragon.

Aragon nodded hearing her friend talk, "this limp isn't that bad compared to some other horses." She agreed having seen some horrible scars from some of the bachelors and a few of the exiles. The mare smiled at him when he confirmed what she had heard "That's amazing! Khala must really trust you," She said, obviously impressed of him, " and Effie is a very lucky mare." She added. She cocked her back foot and relaxed as she talk to him.
Aragon had noticed Ryder turn his head to look at a foal loping towards them. Curious Aragon squinted a little to try see the foal then realized it was probably Leif, Ryder and Effie's foal. The arabian mare smiled a little seeing how Ryder acted with his son. Aragon smiled polity and dipped her head when Ryder introduced her to Leif. "Hello Leif." she said cheerfully to the younger colt. "Yes I did." she said with a small chuckle at seeing how excited Leif was. "We made it all the way across the landc bridge, and your father was the glue that kept us together and sane for the most part." She said reflecting back to that time. "So Leif how old are you?" She asked

Ryder grimaced slightly as he thought of all of the horses he had treated in the last few weeks. Some of their battle wounded were definitely a lot more severe than Aragon's, but a wound was a wound no matter how traumatic. "True. Some of the horses' wounds that I've been treating have been quite... gruesome." He said, thinking for a moment of an appropriate word to use. He chuckled, nodding his head. A slight blush made his cheeks and ears feel warm from the all of the attention. "Thank you. I suppose she does trust me at least a little. And I'm a lucky stallion to have her." Ryder said with a fond grin at the memory of his wedding that had taken place not too long ago. It still brought him happiness to know that he had married the love of his life.
Ryder grinned, seeing Aragon smile kindly down at the spotted colt as he gazed up at her with admiration and excitement. Ryder and Effie had often told him stories of their journey to the island of Olde. They had guessed that a young colt would find interest with an adventure story, and they had certainly been right. Leif's eyes shined with glee when Aragon answered him, and he happily wagged his tail behind him. "Really? My papa did that?" He asked, looking up at his father with a toothy grin before turning his attention back to the roan mare. "I'm six years old." Leif answered, puffing out his chest slightly with pride. Ryder chuckled softly, shaking his head at the foal's posture. "They grow up quicker than you'd imagine." Ryder joked.

Aragon smiled, no more like beamed pure joy at her friend. The red roaned mare looked back to spotted colt. "You bet he did. Oh whoa, six already!" she said enthusiastically. Aragon sat down, this was now a common thing with her, she was small enough and weight enough to quickly jump to her feet if she had to. "Wow, it seems like it and he isn't even my foal." Aragon joked. She looked back up at Ryder and said "If you even need some alone time with Effie," Her eyebrows wiggled slightly, "I'll definitely watch him for you." She turned her attention then back to Leif. "So tell me Leif, do you want to be a guard like your daddy? Or would you rather be a scout?" She asked, Aragon was planning on herself becoming a scout. She was to small for the guard but her legs carried her at unbelievable speeds.

Ryder couldn't help but smile seeing the bright, cheery grin on Aragon's face. The last time he had really gotten the chance to speak with her was during the war which hadn't been exactly a great place to speak. He nodded at her enthusiastic statement, looking down at the spotted colt beside him. It seemed like just the other day that they were arriving back from Olde with Effie still pregnant with him. Time seemed to have flown since then. Ryder looked up to see Aragon's eyebrows wiggle as if she were insinuating something, and it took a moment to realize what she meant by her words. "Oh. Thank you, Aragon. We would appreciate that. I'll let you know if we ever need you to watch him." Ryder said, giving her a grateful nod of his head. Leif glanced between the two older horses, unsure who to focus his attention on before Aragon spoke once more to him. The young colt puffed out his chest, showing off his white teeth in a toothy grin. "I wanna be a guard like my Mama and Papa! They tell me that I'm gonna be big and strong, and I wanna help protect my herd! I've already been practicing my fighting moves. Wanna see?" Leif asked excitedly, wagging his tail like a happy dog.
