Middle of the night. The young mare could feel the cold night breeze blowing against her face, as well as a nostalgic air which flooded her mind and heart.
Arabella had stayed awake 'till very late for the last nights she had spent with the Bachelors. Something wouldn't let her rest or stop her unease. She would stay silent all night watching blankly at the green fields of the East island, sometimes a few tears would roll down her cheeks. She longed seeing her beloved herd once more; she longed to hear her friends and family calling her name in a sweet voice.
Everything seemed so unreal. Just like a dream. How could possibly this could be happening? She had heard so many scary stories about the evil bachelors and their horrifying actions, but she would have never imagined being with them on the same place. Not even in her wildest dreams.
Arabella looked at her surroundings carefully, hoping that nobody had noticed she was still awake. It was almost crazy to think that her herd would cross the sea only to rescue her. She had faith in them, but she knew that it would be dangerous if they came all the way here. She had to do something! She wouldn't just stay here and watch!
Arabella felt her fighting spirit coming back to her once more. It was faint, but she had to at least try, otherwise she would never escape. The young mare looked around once more and silently she walked away from the herd, praying to the unicorn gods that nobody was awake. Once she had a long distance between her and the herd, Arabella hastened her pace into a trot, hoping to get away from the herd quickly and get to a safe place where she could wait for her herd.
That was when she suddenly caught sight of some tall grey things sticking out of the grassy ground. Somehow, those grey things looked incredibly familiar to her... The City! Arabella felt a huge relief in her chest, she had visited the Olde City many times and somehow she felt safe by just seeing this one. Without thinking it twice, she ran towards the City as fast as she could. She knew she wasn't thinking clearly, but all she wanted to do was to get away from the cruel horses who had captured her. There would be a price to pay if they caught her, but she didn't pay attention to that fact. Instead, she tarted running even faster just to get away from them.
A night without the monsters... A night in which she would be able to rest.
