"A Haunting Dream"
Cedrik has many secrets within his past, a majority of them bad but had a few good ones mixed in there. But one personal secret in particular continues to haunt the black stallion within the confines of his dreams, where he continues to experience this heart-breaking pain over and over again. One late night, this dream comes again. But this time it's too much for the behemoth. He abruptly wakes up and bellows a loud, heart-shattering, wail.

Cedrik | Elite Scavenger| Stallion:
It was pitch black.
Thats the only way he could describe it. The darkness enveloped him in its shadowy embrace, and he welcomed it completely. Unlike the darkness that changed him, where his mind now was never quiet and filled with voices of the past. Whispering broken promises into his thoughts, Broken promises he had spoken once before. But this darkness was different, it was quiet.
Almost peaceful.
But Cedrik already knew what was coming next, the dreaded moment of when he received the jagged scars upon his face and how he had come to be introduced into the Bachelor herd. It was during the winter, and He was but a yearling, out carelessly exploring the vast and wintery island he'd been born on. Cedrik was Young, Curious, Naive, and a gentle soul. Out of all those traits, His curiosity as a yearling was large, he always was soaking up knowledge and learning about everything and anything. He knew that he was loner, along with his mother. He knew of the vicious Bachelor herd, who treated mares like tools instead of living beings. Which is why Cedrik and his Mother always were hiding in seclusive areas to prevent them from being caught. He knew about the Olde herd, and their beliefs of unicorns. It always intrigued him to know if unicorns were actually real or not, but that soon vanished when he learned of the Exiles. The Exile herd, who had experienced a bad fire that gouged the land of vegetation, was struggling to survive with the limited food source. But at the moment, Cedrik didn't care much for the other herds. He wanted to explore the island, he wanted to feel the wind rushing through his locks and the cold snow beneath his hooves as he galloped effortlessly on his long legs towards anywhere he desired. But before he could do that, his mother made him promise to not venture too far away from her. If Cedrik hadn't listened to her so half-heartedly, then maybe he really would have kept the promise and not have broken it. Maybe, just maybe, Life would be different than it was now.
Even though he was a yearling, he was massive for his size. He was taller than his mother, a beautiful draft-mix rose grey mare with soft silky white locks that always helped calm him down when he was in turmoil. His white mane was already becoming thicker and longer, reaching to his mid-shoulder. After a year, he was already bulkier than most foals due to his draft bloodlines, and basically everything was bigger or longer than most yearlings. His coat was nice deep black, contrasting with his bold white locks. If compared to other yearlings, he'd probably be the largest one out of the bunch. It never did bother him that he abnormally large for his age, since he never knew his own father. His mother refused to tell him who was his sire, and he never pressed on the matter. But for now, the thrill of running about, the cold air pumping itself into his lungs and giving him an absolute adrenaline rush. His thick black coat stood out sorely against the feathery white snow, but his mane and tail blurred into the background, making him appear as if his mane and tail were the snow itself and he were some forest spirit happily playing amongst the snow.
The black yearling was so entranced with playing with the snow, he didn't notice the yellow eyes studying him carefully, a hungry look in it's eye. Dread filled Cedrik to the brim as he desperately wished he could call out to his younger self, but he could only mentally plead Please..please..escape before its too late...But it was too late, yearling Cedrik had let out a loud pained scream as the predator's claws sunk into his meaty flank. Helplessly, Cedrik watched as his younger self bucked recklessly, trying to throw off his enemy. He could see the utter terror and fear in his young purple eyes as he desperately attempted to escape the pain. After a few more bucks and rears, young cedrik managed to somehow kick the predator and heard it let out a loud snarl as it lost its death grip on Cedrik. Seeing as the heavy weight of the predator was gone, young Cedrik bolted away, not paying attention to the fact of where the predator was. The predator quickly gained on Cedrik, and jumped in front of him, and collided with the predator. He squealed loudly, hot liquid flowed into his eyes as the black yearling struggled to stand up and see clearly. Looking on the ground, he saw the large pile of blood that had collected beneath him. Thats when a burning pain hit him, and he realized the predator managed to slash Cedrik across his face and wound him even more. Tears pooled in young Cedrik's eyes as he was backed into a tree, unable to escape the piercing gaze of those hungry yellow eyes. Then the intense gaze was broken as his mother appeared out of nowhere, tackling the beast to the ground and repeatedly striking the predator. A fierce look was in her eyes, as she defended her child relentlessly. Young cedrik couldn't hold it in anymore, the hot tears mixing with fresh blood as his vision blurred and he watched his mother fight the vicious predator. She kept striking and striking, not worrying about her own condition during the fight. So when the fight was over, his mother's soft white mane was drenched and caked with blood. Her whole body was covered in blood, not knowing whether it was his mother's or the enemy's. All that matters was that they were safe, and the predator was gone. Rushing to his mother, he threw his head into her neck and nuzzled her despite the putrid smell of blood. So far gone in his nuzzling, he hadn't noticed the glazed look his mothers eyes as she slowly fell onto the ground, away from his embrace. Cedrik couldn't take it, he just couldn't. His heart, his mind, all were broken when he saw his mother slowly bleed to her death and tell him one last time that she loved him.
Suddenly Cedrik was jerked out of his dream-state and into the real world, crying hot tears and his heart was hanging heavily in his chest. He just had to experience his mothers death again. He didn't care who was around as more hot tears flowed freely down his face as he let out the loudest heart-shattering wail ever.
