She looked Nero over, noting the deep gashes. She made a mental note to search for some form of rubbing alcohol although it was rare, and she'd only ever found about 2 drops in a broken bottle. She could tell by its pungent odor. Otherwise, Nero didn't appear to have any other severe injuries other then the deep cuts on his crest. She would later put a snow compress on it if or when the cougar left.
She laid down in a ball in the corner on a patch of rug that remained. Most of it was torn up leaving raw, unfinished wood in its place. It was rough but it shielded her belly from any more splinters. She lifted her head at Nero's voice.
"Unicorns? What do you mean i can talk about them its not like they are real or anything." She chided.

His ears were still trained on the door, but Nero relaxed slightly. He laid down a short distance from the mare, turning his head back to look at what the damn cat had done to him.
Nero's shoulder was pretty well battered. There were four distinctive claw marks from where the cougar had grabbed onto his should and his withers. There was also punctures from the predators fangs on either side of his cropped mane where it had bit into his neck. The stallion sighed and gently began to nurse the wounds on his shoulder, the only one he could actually reach himself. It didn't matter though. He was sure on of the healer mages could fix him up easily.
When the mare spoke of the unicorns in such a flippant way, he was shocked. Blue eyes widened in a stare at the mare for a few moments before Nero caught his train of thought again. "Of course the unicorns are real? What makes you think otherwise?" the stallion asked. Curious as to her disbelief.

Greer looked out at the street through the only unbroken window. It had a crack here and there, but it was otherwise undamaged. Plants surrounded the frame, begging to be let it but was denied by the strong hand made glass. She watched the angry cougar prowl down the street, only to turn and pass the door once more. He licked his lips and scratched the snow angrily, frustrated with his prey.
She sighed, and walked over to Nero so she could begin patching up his shoulder. She had minimal supplies, so she decided to check the closets and other rooms as they chatter.
"Well, they would have helped us if they loved us so much. They are just a foals tale and nothing more." She scoffed, as she discovered some old scraps of fabric in an old drawer. She walked back to wear Nero layed, and carefully layed down near him and began to cleanse his wounds with her saliva.

Nero's eyes followed the grullo mare as she walked toward a window. The stallion assumed the predator was still out there, but it wouldn't stay long. It was too cold for the creature to remain outdoors. The mare spoke of how the unicorns while looking in a cupboard and walked over with some rags, laying down and beginning to clean his wound. Nero sighed as it did sting, but it wasn't the worst he'd ever had. The scar on his head proved that much.
"The reason they don't help us is because of the disbelief of numerous horses on our islands," the stallion said and winced slightly. "You don't have to do this, the healers of my herd can fix it well enough. Use the fabric on your shoulder." His blue gaze landed on the mares shoulder which had been wounded when she tried to run past him.

Greer narrowed her eyes at the stallion, feeling very irritated. Here she was, cleaning his wounds, finding supplies she could just take for herself and hoard. She even had the option to hurt the stallion further and take anything he had on him. She glared at him, angry with his suggestion.
"The unicorn shouldn't care. Maybe if they actually returned and helped, not so many of us would have lost heart. Its been years. Horses didn't believe when I was born. They are just fakes and even if they were real, they must have been pretty conceited and pathetic." She growled. "And do not tell me what i dont have to do, if i wanted i could be using this on myself, but i am a giver, unlike the unicorns. I help others unless they dont deserve it." She snapped as she tightly wrapped a scratch on his leg, tighter and faster then necessary. She imagined the small rope-burn he could have underneath and wore a pleased smirk on her lips.

"The unicorns are who made us what we are today. They created the civilization we live in. Without them, our world would be a darker and far more horrible place." Nero winced when she tied the cloth tightly and shook his head. The wound to his crest wasn't too grave, but he wasn't sure if his mane would grow back. The stallion stood and looked out a dirty window, noticing the cat who hadn't been too seriously injured walk over to the other. "They should disperse soon, especially since the one who took part of my mane out is hurt." The stallion snorted and walked over to the cupboard, looking through it to see if there was anything to eat. "If you would like, I'd like to take you to a friend of mine. She could help you regain your strength. Then you'd be free to go as soon as you pleased."

Greer scoffed at the horses reasoning. "Yeah sure, why would they leave then? Why create a society if they were just gonna abandon it? And, our world already is a dark and horrible place. Thats why there is a Fairyin war begining." She said with a chuckle.
At Nero's mention of bringing her to a friend, she became much more hostile. "Who the hell do you think you are? Im fine. Look at me im covered in scars but im alive." She snapped.
"Lily livered olde horse..." She mumbled.
