Ryder
The storm was drawing to a close as the sun peaked over the horizon. It spread its yellow rays and sparkled off of the remaining drops of water falling from the sky. He watched it carefully as if he were trying to memorize the sight of it. There was beauties like this in nature that made Ryder wish he could enjoy it a little more. Right now all his herd was doing was search for a way to survive on the Southern island. It would be hard, but the Exiles were survivors.
His ears swiveled backward as Nimh spoke. He turned his blue eyes back on her and nodded. "I can relate to that. I was loner once upon a time. Seeing new things used to be what I lived for," he said, remembering his time as a lone stallion. Well... not alone. He had a small herd that he would return to after his adventures. It had been a nice and quiet time in his past that he wished he could go back to. Things were different now though, and they would be that way for a very long time.
With the sunlight came sight, and Ryder saw Nimh stand and stretch out her legs. The brown paint sat up but remained seated. The rain would last for a few more minutes before disappearing, and he didn't want to seem like he would follow the mare all the way around the island like a day old foal. She probably wanted to be on her own anyways. He had been that way when he was a loner.

At this time the view was truly stunning. The sun was painting the sky and the clouds all sorts of lively colors. Yellow, red, a touch of purple. It was almost easy to forget, for a second, that the land around them was charred to ash and barely held anything from the horses on it. The last of the rain drops fell to the ground while wind persistently blew the clouds away. It tore them apart and scattered them over the sky into harmless little tuffts of white.
Nimh was a bit surprised to hear Ryder had been a Loner. She couldn't have, personally, ever given up on her life free. She would rather die than to life in some confinements and within certain set boundaries. She was determined that her feet would not stop for too long at any time until she was too old to go on, and then she was certain there would be predators to do their job. She'd never have to suffer from not being able to go. She didn't have much in this world, but to freedom she grasped onto ever so tightly.
Lavenderish eyes went over Ryder's figure, to remember him as he was. Times would be tough for him and Nimh did hope from the bottom of her heart that things would look up for the Exiles. If not for anything else, for Ryder. She smiled her most beautiful smile before finally saying:
"It's time for me to go, it was really nice meeting you, Ryder." She stepped past him, having a last glance. "Stay true to yourself. Best of luck", she said and then continued on. She stepped to the opening of the cave and it took a few seconds for her eyes to adjust. Then she trotted off, her legs at first very stiff. The muscles got more flexible as she just kept going, until it didn't feel as bad anymore.
//Thank you for the company! <3 Nimh's out //

Ryder
He watched as the sun steadily rose over the ocean. Deep purples and pinks reflected off of the water and bounced back into the cave and on the sand. It was so peaceful, and it reminded him of what things used to be on this island. Beauty was at its core, and maybe... hopefully, one day it would shine through once more. The clouds turned white and floated aimlessly across the sky as the wind pushed them.
Ryder could tell she was a bit surprised by the fact that he had been a loner. Most of his own herd was surprised that he had given his life of freedom up to be with a herd. The Exiles were all about self-preservation and allowed for some wiggle room when it came to actually being with the herd. He could wander off for a few days and not be missed if he told Cael that he would be scouting for resources. Everyone was pretty accepting as well of newcomers.
He turned his cerulean eyes on the dappled mare as she said her goodbyes. Ryder gave her a nod and smile. "It was nice meeting you as well. Take care of yourself," he said as he finally stood on stiff legs. Ryder watched as Nimh trotted and then galloped down the beach. Her long legs taking her out of sight in a matter of minutes. Maybe they'd meet again some day when all this craziness was over.
((Nimh is such a sweetheart!! c: Thanks for the RP. It was fun. ^-^ ))
