Alistair's change of mind put Gyda at ease as she watched the dirt crumble from beneath his hoof. Finding a detour would delay them for who knows how long, but at least they would all be able to make it across safely. Gyda was looking around, still trying to find a safe way to pass when her friend called out to her and a smirk appeared on her dark lips. From the corner of her eye she saw a flash of white and gray-blue dart past her and Alistair. By the time her eyes caught up to the blur, her friend was struggling to climb up the other side of the gully as the earth was falling from under her feet.
"Elona!" Gyda yelled frantically. The paint mare was laying on the bottom covered in dirt and pebbles, not moving. When Gyda peered over the edge it sent her heart racing. Alistair promptly and easily jumped across the gap and called to Elona. "Alistair, help her!" They tawny mare whined, voice full of worry. She felt so helpless on the other side of the gully, as if there was nothing she could do to assist and she was stuck on the opposite edge from her team. Gyda made the hasty decision to jump too, she was a bit taller than Elona and she practically made it, if only her legs could reach a tad farther she could make it. Her dark legs proceeded to push her lean body off the edge as hard as they could manage, she then tried to stretch as far as she could. Her hooves found just enough dirt to land on safely as her body followed in a tumble into the bushes, she rolled over onto her legs and shook her head to regain her senses. Quickly, she stood up, ran to Alistair's side, and looked down toward the mare with nervous eyes.

[Elona//Aphelion Unseelie//Mare]
The little mare's head throbbed as she lay unmoving on the gully's floor. Taking a moment to catch her breath, she listened to the voices around her. Gyda frantically calling out to her while pleading for Alistair to do something. The golden stallion shouting down to her in an attempt to assess the situation. The many voices of those long passed beckoning her to join them. Groaning heavily, she shifted her stocky frame, Wincing as she forced herself to her feet, pain suddenly consuming her thoughts. "I'm alright!" She called up to her companions, cringing as she inspected her body for injuries. "I chipped my left fore hoof and I think I may have sprained my tail, but I'm alright." A cheesy grin spread across her face as she looked up at them. "I'm pretty much invincible, ya know." She instantly regretted her inability to hold back her laughter, as it sent pain shooting throughout her entire body. Had she cracked a rib as well? The thought frightened her, but she couldn't dwell on it. There were more pressing issues to be addressed first, such as getting her out of this death trap and completing their mission.
"There's gotta be some way out of here..." She mused aloud, taking in her surroundings. Massive tree branches seemed to clutter to ground, and though the walls were steep, there were a few shallow footholds that looked to be strong enough to hold her weight. "You just gonna stand there, or are you gonna help a lady out?" She asked, a hint of impatience seeping into her voice. Something about being down there was...unsettling... at best. Spirits hovered around her, watching, waiting, half expecting her to fail miserably and join them for eternity. "What do you want from me?!" She huffed, frustration evident as they closed in on her. Wait...The ghosts! That's it! Elona's sudden epiphany elated her.
Closing her eyes, the grey and white paint reached out with her gift, attempting to hear anything coherent that was being said. Surely one of these spirits would know a way out, and though she couldn't make contact with them, they had always been able to pester her, even if she couldn't understand. Voice after voice seemed to mumble nonsensical gibberish, and Elona was getting frantic. "Come on.." She muttered softly. "I just need a little help here." Her plea went unnoticed as the spirits continued carrying on. Though she couldn't understand what they were saying, they seemed to be getting angrier with each passing moment. Had she done something to upset them? Fear, real fear, grabbed at the little mare's heart as she backed up against the gully's wall. What on earth was going on down there? Then she heard it, just the faint whisper of a word she understood. Mortals. Her concentration broken, the voices faded back into quiet but angry mutters and whispers. No wonder they're upset...The mortals, they must be nearby! She thought, looking up toward her companions. "Alistair! Gyda! I think the mortals are close!"

Alistair's head snapped up as Gyda came sailing over the gully, time slowing to a standstill yet again. For a moment, he worried she wouldn't make it, that her hooves would claw gauges but never find their purchase, and she'd slip, joining Elona, breaking her fragile legs on the hard earth below. She was not as sturdy as her small but stocky friend. If she fell... But she didn't. Gyda made it. Just barely, and not without a few scratches from her improvised meeting with a bush, but made it all the same. Alistair released the breath he'd been holding. He didn't need two problems when one was already eating into their time. Every minute was precious. With that in mind, he returned his attention to Elona, leaning over the edge to get a good look. To his relief, the mare was moving. She pushed herself to her hooves and began to speak, the usual noise spilling from her lips, and Alistair knew she was alright. He tuned out her words, choosing to focus on finding a solution rather than listen to her prattle. That is, until she said what he'd been hoping to hear for what felt like ages. "Alistair! Gyda! I think the mortals are close!"The Overseer's gaze snapped to the channeler, meeting her mismatched eyes . The mortals, close? Every hair on his body began to tingle. " Grab hold." He commanded, turning away from the gully edge and lowering his long, dexterous tail. Elona would have to jump to reach it, which Alistair knew would hurt and tear creamy hairs from his braids, but none of that mattered. The mortals were near, and they needed to catch them. When the unseelie's teeth clamped around a mouthful of his flesh and hair, Alistair gritted his teeth, bowed his head, and pulled. He pulled with everything he had, inching forward step by step, until Elona's pink nose appeared over the edge of the gully. Her head followed, and then her shoulders and scrambling hooves. It became easier once she had a firm grip and could contritube, the pair working together until she'd be dragged up and on to firm ground. Alistair lashed his tail as she released it, flecks of silver blood dotting the grass. There was no time to assess the damage. "After them!"
