[ Akira ]
Between the two opposite equines, it didn't take long for what began as mere silence with the occasional rustle of foliage around them to become absolutely deafening. Due to the movement of the pack and the odd pair of horses, the woodland creatures had all taken flight, leaving the two only with the soft crunch of earth, grass, and leaves beneath their hooves as they plodded on. Akira did her best to put on a straight, unfeeling face, yet she couldn't deny the fact that if this...brute hadn't come along, she would have been in much more serious danger. It was...conflicting in her mind, how a bachelor could help a loner, such as herself, especially a female. Wasn't their moto guts, glory, and broods? At least, that's what she'd always been told...and from what she'd seen it had often been the truth. Every now and then, she would briefly glance to her side, only to find the stallion's crystal blue eye watching her movements, for which she would then snap her attention back to where she was going and keeping herself from tripping.
For being only on three legs, she really did quite well in keeping herself upright. However, it only took a slight brush against the wounded flesh of her hock, and the pain would immediately register on her face, her teeth grinding against each other. It was surprising how she'd been able to escape without too much injury from the beasts themselves, as the twisted ankle was primarily from an overgrown root, which her hoof had caught on and caused her downfall. Minute pink scratches could be seen contrasting against the sooty black skin of her legs, though nothing that wouldn't heal quickly over time. Overall, her biggest concern now was being able to outrun other bachelors...er, the normal ones anyway. This one seemed to be...different. Guess no more meddling in their affairs for a while...back into hiding... Sighing deeply to herself, she grunted slightly in pain from the wound and kept moving forward.
Sensing her weight was finally taking its toll on the bachelor's strength, she did her best to straighten up and rely more on her good three legs, which of course caused her to stumble once more, whimpering slightly. Immediately, not wanting to appear weaker than she already was, she did her best to conjure up a brave face and mumble a quick, "Sorry...", before looking away. What came next startled the young buckskin mare, as the bachelor had been quiet for so long. "So...what is your name?" Coming to a halt, she blinked a few times in confusion, almost forgetting her name at the sudden scramble her mind committed in trying to come up with a response. Many smart remarks came to her mind, any which she would have normally thrown at such a question, but...this time was different...he hadn't captured her now at her most vulnerable point, she highly doubted he really was of any threat... Tilting her head to the side and jutting out her bottom lip in a slight defiant pout, she finally murmured, "...Akira...just Akira..." It felt...weird to give out her name. She never trusted anyone. So why was she trusting this bachelor of all equines...? "...and yours?"
