Ryder followed after the young mare into the house. He kissed Effie's head as she bent down to lick at the sweet liquid. It was a nice treat to find something like that. His ears flicked forward as he heard Rae scrambling around the house. He watched with interest as she brought in a draw from a cabinet and began filling it with stuff she found around the house. A chuckle escaped him at Rae's persistence for finding resources in this place. He nosed the things that she found, nodding. "These will be pretty useful. Want to go with me to find some herbs for you to take? You never know when you might need some," he offered with a grin, hoping she would take his offer. Even if she didn't though, he would probably stick some of the ones he already had into her stash of goods. Ryder would hate for her to get injured on her way back to Olde, and not be able to at least mend the wound until someone else could look at it.

Rae nodded thankfully, stumbling to her hooves, and stretching her back. She made a loud groaning noise, much like a bear. She giggled and blushed when she finished. She followed Ryder out the door, and towards the woods which were slowly taking over the citty. One of the tree's grew straight through the window and out the roof.

Ryder grinned as Rae made a noise that he would have expected to come out of a much larger horse or predator. He gave her a nod as they walked out of the house and toward the forest that sprouted nearby. Eventually these trees would take over this city all together, destroying any evidence that it ever existed. He was thankful that he had had a chance to see this city and the one on Olde before that day came. The ruins had always interested him. The brown paint looked around at the forest floor for any signs of helpful herbs. "I'd really like to find some ginger root for pain and aloe vera for your wounds so they don't get infected. They both grow in pretty shaded areas, so the forest is probably a perfect spot," he said, filling the silence with his plan of action.

Greer nodded and split away. She searched high and low before coming across a large tree. Its leaves were bright green, and yellow. On the branches hung yellow, orange, and red fruits. Thick and juciy looking. Greer whinnied for Ryder, picking down one of the large fruits. She munched down on it, swallowing a bite. She groaned with pleasure, hooves digging into the dirt. She took another bite, juice coating her lips. It tasted better then the can juice.
(lol its mangos idk i thought itd be funny)

Ryder trotted off in the direction opposite of Rae though he made sure he stuck close to enough to hear her if she found anything. He sniffed around the forest, finding a small patch of aloe plants. He plucked their leaves carefully, making sure he didn't bite too hard into the plant. His torn ear flicked forward as he heard a whinny from the direction Rae was in. Ryder galloped toward her with the herbs still in his mouth. He sighed in relief when he realized that she wasn't hurt. The sight before him made him grin though. A mango tree grew in the middle of the forest, sticking out oddly against all of the green. His mother had given him one of these odd fruits when he was a colt, and he remembered loving every second of it. "A mango tree! I used to get these every now and then when I was colt," he said around the herbs as he placed them on the ground to grab one of the round fruits. Ryder bit into it, humming at the sweet taste. Juice fell out of his mouth as he grinned. He had thought apples were his favorite, but these were a true delicacy.
((lol mangoes are cool. XD I swear I'm going to bed now. I just remembered the Walking Dead was on. XD ))

Rae nodded, shoving a few in a peice of cloth she'd tied around her neck like a sachel. The two mango's took up much of the space but it was worth it especially for Effie. They trecked on through the woods a little longer, finding a large bee hive on the ground, empty. Inside was filled with drippy gooey honey. Greer carried it in her mouth by the step, licking the edge sometimes for a sweet little taste. When they got back to the Cabin, Rae gave effie on of the mangos keeping one for herself in the drawer. Then, she divided the honey into the juice cans, giving on full to effie and ryder and giving herself one. The drawer was now filled with herbs and food, which she packed in a neat little bag in that old fabric. She stashed it in the corner before settling down next to effie. She nundged the mares belly, and nickered at Ryder, asking what they would possibly name it.

Ryder picked the herbs back up as they made their way back to the house where they had left Effie. He grinned at the sight of his mate as she waited for them to return. A slight look of discomfort on her face. She was definitely ready for the foal to come. He watched as Rae nudged Effie's stomach gently. A questioning expression on her face. Ryder took a moment to guess at what the mare was trying to say before he took a guess. "We haven't really thought of any names yet. If it's a boy, we want to give him a strong name, and if it's a girl, we'd like it to be a bit more feminine." He said with a chuckle. Ryder was awful with names, so he was up for any suggestions.

Rae thought of names. Ryder was strong, like tthe wind. The earth and the island of chevalin were the strongest things she knew. She looked around the room. A stick here and there, but one n particular caught her eye. A green leaf dangled on its branches, clining on for dear life. She grabbed it tenderly between her teeth holding it out for ryder. Leaves, trees, plants, they survived anywhere even on the southern isle shed spotted some sprouts making their way above the black crusted ground.

Ryder thought for a moment before Rae darted after something nearby. He watched with interest as she came back with a small leaf in her mouth. It was crumpled from having to try and survive in such a hard environment much like the Exiles themselves. Ryder grinned, nodding in understanding. "Leif would be a good name. Thanks, Rae," he said with a smile, glancing over at Effie as she munched on the mango that Rae had brought back for her. Ryder hoped that the young mare would find her love, Ace. She deserved some good to happen.

Rae smiled, before settling in the corner and falling into a deep, restoring sleep.
The next morning, she woke up very early. The sun was barely peeking over the riddle mountains, kicking the moon out and replacing the darkness with a golden haze. Greer gathered her things, before nunging Ryder awake. She went out the door and waited on the porch for him.

Ryder chuckled as the mare quickly fell asleep. He curled up close to Effie as sleep took him as well. He dreamed of a small horse chasing him through a meadow as they both laughed.
In the morning, he was awaken from his dream by a nudge. He looked up drowsily to see Rae motioning for him to follow her outside. A yawn escaped him as he stood, stretching out his legs before he followed her out onto the porch. The sun was barely peaking over the mountains, turning the sky purple and orange as it rose further. "What's up, Rae? Is there something you needed?" He asked as he stood beside her on the porch.
((lol you put Greer again. XD ))

Rae motioned to the road, telling him it was time for her to go. She felt a tear fall to the dust, as a frown formed on her lips. She had to go now, it was up to her to make it back in time she couldnt just stay here. She had to find Ace.

Ryder frowned a bit as Rae pointed with her nose to the road. Her bag of supplies was wrapped around her neck. He gave her a sad smile, hoping that she would be able to find Ace and make it back safely. Ryder wiped her tear carefully before wrapping his neck around her withers in a hug. "Be careful okay? I'm sure you'll find Ace," he said as he pulled back to give her a smile. This young horse had so much perseverance that Ryder could imagine her doing just about anything she put her mind to. Rae would have no problems finding her love in the mountains.

Greer hugged him once more, before taking off down the road. She tried not to look back, for she knew she wouldnt be able to go on if she saw him again. She kept going, powering against everything that told her to turn around.
(hey we can just skip to when the exiles gather sure?)

Ryder watched as she galloped down the road. He gave her a small nod of farewell before returning to his mate inside the house. They would be heading out soon to find the herd. His mind raced at the thought of reuniting with them. Would they be mad that they had left? Would they even let them back into the herd after they had quite obviously left when the herd had needed them the most? A small sigh escaped him as he settled back down beside the grey mare. He'd think about it once they got there. There was no point in worrying about something he couldn't change.
((Like right when Rae gets back? ))
